From the dark water beneath the bones, there are are four muffled cracks. Thyrius sends blast of energy through the water. They seem to streak in slow motion, leaving behind a stream of bubbles that skitter upwards. His blasts are all well aimed but seem to just pick at the edges of the enemy shadow creature that squirms about trying to avoid the worst of his spells.
Then one of the shadows (A4) emerges out of the darkness in front of Xemnez, swinging its deadly shadow blades at him.

Jezun has returned, and from Nuzej's slow and normal movements, it's a wonder to behold the grace and power of the monk's attacks. His fists and feet move in a blur and he seems to almost hover in the air as all of his limbs attack the skulls. The first skill is hit twice, and a "Yyaaaa!" as he strikes with a fist corresponds to the skull exploding into bits of bone. Then his foot is striking the next skill, and a swinging backfist, cracking the flaming thing. He seems to put in just a bit more effort, bursting forward with speed but the skull has taken a beating and lifts up just out of this reach as he swings twice.
Skull6 Concentration for flaming sphere: 317
Magical darts zap out from another of the skulls, the last one floating around out in the bone room, as it flies out of the glaring light.

A shimmering magical hammer appears and strikes the skull....chips of bones fly from it. Then a blast of holy energy rips through the air but the skull is quick and dodges to the side, the energy just missing.
Meanwhile, the brothers, in a dire situation, continue to be swarmed by the shadows that come slipping out of the shadows. The brothers hallow faces look desperate as the shadows attacks. Two of them flit out from the darkness. Xemnez sees one, but one of them comes from a flank and he only sees it after it strikes at him. Thyrius meanwhile, having had his brother put himself him harms way for him is attacked by a single shadow...

Attack on Thyrius: 26 Damage: 9 + 5 necrotic (plus lose 3 strength on a hit)
Thryius watches in horror as his brother....the hero of the clan, warrior of countless epic battles...and his golden perfect younger brother is struck by the two shadows that swarm over him. As their blows hit him, his brothers eyes go blank....his mouth opens in a wordless cry...and his skin seems to shrink and pull tight across his bones. Nezmos drops from his lifeless hand as his corpse, sucked dry of life energy, slowly sinks towards the bottom of the water.

For his next act, Simaal concentrates hard, cape starts fluttering and a tornado like blast reaches out from him into the skull and bones. 30 feet long, 5 feet wide. DC 19 Dam 33. Str check or prone... Hoping to see effect of bone "floor" as well. (mind you shadows go first, but they're down below).

A blast of wind shoots out from Simaal. A wave like flood of bones all along the floor clatter in all directions along the path of the blast before it strikes the skull. It hits it with so much force that it is flung across the room, shattering against the wall into tiny bits. The cave if full of the sound of clattering bones for a few moments, as the entire floor seems to sway with the sound of bones grinding about....as the bones continue to shift and move in strange waves.
Under the water Thyrius loops his arm around his brothers shrunken waste, catching his body best as he can. Another of the shadows dart forward trying to strike Thyrius, but it's only been a moment on Xemnez's bait and switch move still has the shadows guessing...

Seeing his brother fall is such a maddening sight that Thyrius lets out a fearsome roar of grief underwater. Elsewhere, some opponents might run from this display of might. Here, it was meant as unbound emotional pain. The roar is transmitted mentally to the rest of the party. The pain it carries tells them all they need to know.
Thyrius has managed to avoid the recent attacks aimed at him, in no small part due to his brother's sacrificing maneuver. Knowing that his own demise is just around the corner, the black cat judges that his best option is to stall the shadows as best as he can. Should his new companions manage to come before he succumbs, maybe he'll be able to do something for his brother. If not, he hopes one of the all-knowing wizards and clerics in the party know a thing or two about bringing the recently deceased back to life.
For now, Thyrius buys a few more seconds with another teleporting trick.
-> Bonus action: Daunting Roar: WIS save {DC 17} affecting enemies within 10ft or they become frightened until the end of my next turn (if not immune, of course.)
-> Action: another Thunder Step for 29 thunder damage on a failed CON save {DC 19} or half as much on a success for those within 10ft. He is teleporting as far as he can from the enemies, taking Xem with him.
-> Movement (35ft halved): Used to add however many additional feet of distance he can manage after teleporting. He is dragging his brother with him; hopefully buoyancy helps him out here with the extra weight.

The group sees the last skull full to bits and a minor feeling of victory fills them....****y to be shocked away into darkness when they hear the anguished mental cry of Thryius issue through their minds....followed by a roar of pain and anger. With their ears they can hear the muffled growl of the scream echo up out of the water...followed by yet another dull thud of a thunderous crack deep down below.
Thyrius, his fallen brother in his grasp, focus' once again and vanishes from his place, leaving behind a thunderous explosion.

As far as he can see, he once again appears 60 feet away in the dark water, the shadows barely visible on the edge of his vision. And then he moves away, slipping further along through the water, his brothers body heavy, but buoyant enough that he can drag him.

Mirica followed. She was expecting the cold and darkness and reality did not disappoint. It took a moment to locate Thyrius, while calling him mentally. But once it was done and the worst was confirmed - Xemnez did fall in the battle here! - she called for the healing power of the Morning Lord, to close the wounds of the golden lion and return him to the battle.
Then the corner of the cave free of the group mates was illuminated by the light of dawn, brought from the surface.
Toc comes floating down into the cool, dark underground water. A moment later Mirica follows....sinking like a rock until she touches down on the floor with a light thud. Dark shadows swirl about her and Toc with humanoid forms.
She mentally reaches out to Thyrius, and he responds, but they're too far away for her to see through the dark water, especially with some stone pillars blocking her view. She starts moving that way, but wading through the deep water and taking lumbering steps is slow work and she still can't see them at the moment. Maybe some light will help.
The dawn light from above comes reaching down through the bones and fills the dark water with light. 5 dark humanoid shaped splotches of shadow are immediately made obvious. They dart every which way to try and escape the sudden light.
Toc growls, his rapier pulled out in slow motion and swung at one of the shadows near him.... (A3)

Toc's rapier, though darting through the water sluggishly, still strikes the shadow creature several times, the blade sending shots of shadow spraying out. The last blow, he swings his staff around and the shadow evaporates out of existence.
Jezun does his best to try to guess where the others are headed based on observing their bubble trails and direction, and then races across the bone/water surface as if it were solid ground and then doing a perfect pencil dive down into the depths. He may have called out something about saving the badass kitty dudes but the exact words are lost in the muffle of the clunky dive, which is likely for the better.
How far can he get (his move is ridiculous, even in water) and what does he see? Does he have full action and bonus action? Does Bigby’s hand have enough move to get in the face of A6 to push it into the light? He’d love to use action to hit one of the shadows a lot. Let me know what’s possible.
Jezun can't see the bubbles or direction through the thick layer of bones between him and the water, but he'd seen exactly where the others had gone through. He races across the bones, feeling them wanting to slip aside and let him through, but instead moves like the wind until he finds the perfect spot, leaping up and diving in through the rough clattering bones that clear a path through them for him to delve into the water below. The space is lit up with the glowing magical light from Mirica and he sees four shadows darting about through the water around Toc and the cleric.
(He uses up 20 feet of movement to get into the water below. The water that isn't brightly lit by the magical dawn light at least now sparkles a faint blue from the diffuse light seeping throughout the compound. He heard Thyrius mentally describe that Xemnez and he had fled "away from the treasure, through the narrow crack in the wall", so he figures the brothers are probably that way. Otherwise he sees the four shadow creatures nearby. Two of which are bathed in the light of the dawn. Bigby's hand can be moved 30 feet, so it can move down here and still have 10 feet of movement.)
