Karib nods, "Rest it is! And I am sorry, my knowledge of these caverns is limited. Perhaps here? Just gag our captives an hope no kobold is stupid enough to disturb them?"
@DM: Has there been any sign of a place that might be private quarters for Cyanwrath or the berserkers?
OOC: Thank you for the correction, there is still one human alive and unconscious along with Cyanwrath.
That is correct that there are two other ways out of this room. I'll include an image showing your entire path through the hatchery thus far. You haven't seen anything resembling private quarters. This room is the first one in the hatchery you have seen that has man-made features in it.
Area Description:
Stalactites and stalagmites that have been polished into gleaming columns. Every surface glistens with moisture. The flat walls of the chamber are decorated with shallow abstract carvings of dragons. Ahead, a wide set of steps descends into a large cavern shrouded in darkness, and to the right past where Cyanwrath had been standing is another tunnel winding around a corner.
"Let's head back down to the meat locker. These two prisoners can join the first one we captured. There are poison barbs on the leather covering over the door. When we get there, I'll hold the leather aside, while everyone goes in. And, then we can get a nice sleep before we continue on."
Karib nods, "After a rest I'll need a little time to call upon Gond's aid fashion something for him." He nods in the direction of Cyanwrath. "Otherwise, we should just kill him. His bodyguards may know as much."
As they move through the room with the caged drakes Karib does what he can to smash the lock in the locked position so that anyone trying to release them will need to make a lot of noise.
He is not comfortable loitering in the caves, but he hopes that, with Cyanwrath a prisoner, the largest threat is now neutralized.
(( OOC: Thinking that a short rest, then Artisan's Blessing, then either a long rest or more exploring ))
OOC: I'd like to get some confirmation from the others on moving back to the meat locker, and then I'll advance.
Remember as well that in coming to the current room, you snuck past a room full of kobolds and might theoretically have to do the same in order to return to the meat locker.
Smoke will make sure one of the others knock the prisoners out before they intent to be moved, so they cant make a sound.
He will take the lead in scouting ahead to see if the goblins are still asleep trying to remain stealthy. If they get the group to the meatlocker Smoke will offer to take the first watch to make sure they are not surprised during their rest.
OOC I misread the map when I suggested we return to meat locker. I thought the stairs leading down from the room intersected the hallway that leads to the meat locker. This would have allowed us to get to the meat locker without going past the kobolds.
But, I now see it doesn't intersect that hallway but goes under it. Not sure what the best option for us is now.
Seeing Rogram approach the unexplored hallways, Yevele goes over grabs the dwarf and says "We [pointing at herself and the other two members of the party] agreed to take a rest. Go over there [pointing towards the side of the room farthest from the unexplored hallways] and stay away from these hallways, or I leave. In addition, if you want my help in finding your father, then you don't make any more decisions by yourself. We must come to an agreement among all party members before doing additional exploring. If you can't live by that rule, then I'm done with you."
She then walks over to Cyanwrath "There as no agreement on saving this creature. Both Smoke and I feel he should be killed. I don't think the governor or citizens of Greenest would be the slightest bit upset over getting his corpse rather than his living, lightning breathing self. Why should we risk our lives and keep him alive?"

If you can't live by that rule, then I'm done with you."
As Yevele grabs his arm, Rogram's head swivels to look at her, his eyes wide in alarm. But as she chastises him, his face falls into a stony glare. At the last of her warning, he yanks his thick, hairy arm out of her grasp.
There is the slight, but unmistakable sound of a sword being unsheathed. Rogram stands for a few heartbeats, his shield and sword arms dangling at his sides as his shoulders rise and fall with his heavy breaths. Finally, his feet begin moving. His wrist twists, causing his sword to do a funny figure eight in the air. His narrowed eyes lock onto Yevele's as he marches toward her.
Karib, looks up at the brewing altercation. "What the...?"
He moves to stand in front of the young dwarf, "We are all on the same side here, lad. The little I know of your father...he'd not be wanting you to kill all his would-be rescuers."
When Rogram draws his sword, Yevele also draws hers. But, rather than directing it at the dwarf, the monk places the end of her blade on the neck of Cyanwrath. "Sheath your sword now, or the half-dragon dies immediately."
The dozen or so kobolds huddled within the beds formed by badly cured furs are still there, and remain awake but still seem largely inattentive. They don't seem to notice you as you peer into the room.
For Rogram:
The chamber that opens at the bottom of the stairs is immense. You don't hear any distinct sounds from within, but still hear the faint sounds of dripping water, scratching rodents, and scrabbling lizards that are present elsewhere throughout the caverns.
OOC: Great RP and discussions going on here, keep 'em up!
Karib glances back at Yevele, then his eyes flicker down to the sword resting on the half-dragon's neck. He shrugs briefly, "I'd as soon see him dead, but like I said:With enough time and a safe place, I may be able to loosen his tongue. It's been done before, though usually takes more than just one priest. One priest -- and time -- should be enough, though."
Turning back to Rogram, he says, "Yevele mentioned another prisoner. This one..." he points his chin at Cyanwrath, "...may just be too dangerous to keep alive. I'm new here -- and I'll abide by any decision that the three of you make. A quick death may be the best option if we can't get him out."
"Do it!" Rogram says, his eyes widening a little at the sound of his own voice. "End the creature, and let's make a decision." He slams his sword back into its sheath. "All of this waiting around is making mikk thomanik."
Spotting the goblins and seeing they have woken up, Smoke tries to move back as quickly and quietly as he can while they are still not paying much attention.
As Smoke returns he sees the end of the standoff between Rogram and Yevele. Smokes eyes darting around to see where the captives are and trying to read some emotion from the faces of his companions.
Get a hold of yourselves. We cannot turn against eachother now.he pauzes a moment The goblins.. they are awake. We cannot pass by them with our group undetected.
He moves to stand between Rogram and Yevele facing neither, standing with a shoulder towards each of them. Looking to Yevele We should silence the dragonborn. His mind like his blood is filled with darkness.
He then turns his head to Rogram. We all want to save your kin. But we cannot do so if we dont survive ourselves.
Trying to get some grip he turns to Karib Please assist Yevele in silencing our captive.
We will take a moment to rest and plan our next step, Which direction do we journey. Two unknowns and 1 known leading to goblins.
As the group seems to not respond much to his tales of old he decides to speak of more recent events. Allowing the others to feel more connected to the words and perhaps keeping their attention.
Do not give up hope, as we have gotten this far against all odds.It seems a lifetime ago when we were travelling across the Trade Way with our caravan. The sun shining upon us.Smoke walks around a bit slowly trying to bring the group back to to the moment things were calm and tries to reflect the emotion in his movement. Using Prestidigitation to warm up the clothing of the others as he mentions the warm sun. And perhaps allowing Karib to envision a better time.
Tragedy struck as we found Greenest under attack, we even lost Dern in the initial assault. He turns to Rogram. But we did not yield, we kept pushing and managed to reach the inner walls.
He continues his pacing. We rested when we could and calculated our actions to disrupt the large attacking army. And our defenses held. It was our patience then that allowed us to aid Greenest in seeing another sunrise. It is that which shall do the same for us now so steady yourselves
Even when the great blue Dragon Lennithon tested us we did not abandon hope. Even when Thrax got wounded by this evil.He looks to Cyanwrath. We did not abandon hope. And we shall see him again when we return. His wounds should be healed by now.
With Smoke turning again to not move into a wall he eyes Yevele, After a long journey we even reached the camp and were able to save Leosin. By moving carefully and working together. It is where Thia left us to aid the towns, most likely one with appletrees. he says with a grin
It is the trust in eachother that got us this far and allowed us to save Karib from the clutches of these goblins. He smiles to Karib as he passes him. And we will continue to save those if we move carefully.
He ends his movement near Rogram. We will endure this together, but we must move with care. This enemy is far greater than any of us alone. He then lets the group think of their recent journey and to which of the three directions will mark the next step in their journey.
Assuming up to now is part of their short rest Smoke would like to add the speech/story as the 'song of rest' for others to focus on to provide an additional 1d6 healing for everyone spending a HD.
As Smoke approaches Rogram and Yevel, Karib moves away from his position between them. He's seen enough priests ready to begin their sermons, and knows the signs well. His new companions seem worthy of both his trust and his aid, but it would be better that one of their own persuade them from any folly.
It is fascinating to hear the tale of how the three -- or was it once five? -- came to be in this place. It is just how his own tale might have run had his companions not been waylaid. He closes his eyes as he feels the warmth flow over him, reminding him of a world beyond the dreadful caves: It has been days since he was warm, yet it seems like a life time ago. As the tale comes near to its end he hears his name and his eyes lock onto Smoke's for a moment before he shakes his head faintly. The tales of sun, the feeling of warmth and the possibility of a return to them both seem to have drained him of a desire for revenge, thank Grond.
As the last words trail off, he shrugs. "I said I'd abide by your decision, but not that I'd murder in cold blood." His gaze turns to Rogram and Yevele, "Do what you must, and with mercy, then we can move on."
When the last blood stops pumping from the murdered half-dragon, Karib closes his eyes and says a prayer over the body, impeaching the gods to speed his soul to wherever it is that they deem he belongs. Just not here.
The final act played out, he looks around the companions then down at the body, "Best we search it for signs and clues. He may yet reveal some secrets."
Rogram breathes heavily, clearly still winded, as he waits for the others to decide what they're going.
