Rogram suggests, "Let's keep moving," to Thrax and Thia as Yevele and Smoke hurry ahead to try to find high ground in order to scout the smoke trail. "By my reckoning, that is the smoke from a single fire and not our prey. The other two will join us when they have news." The half-dwarf keeps on the army's path, and Rogram is happy to listen to any pointers the cleric might have to help him handle his new shield better.

Yevele quickens her pace toward the plateau, looking for what looks to be the easiest path up. Perception: 20
As she moves forward the monk thinks to herself 'Is that the rear guard of the army, or maybe it is one of our friends that is also tracking the progress of the army? Could that be where they are keeping the prisoners?'
OOC: Do I have it right that Yevele and Smoke are going to scout ahead on the top of the plateau while the rest of the party continues to follow the trail?
The trail winds and twists through valleys, but the line of smoke remains on the horizon as Rogram, Thia, and Thrax continue tracking the raiders.
For Smoke and Yevele:
The smoke seems to be coming from a low spot between surrounding hills up ahead. Continuing forward along the plateau would likely give you a good view of the low spot. It also appears that the trail below that the rest of the party is following will also lead to this area from the right side.
As Smoke notices the low spot is up ahead he turns to Yevele Be carefull but check it out, ill be with you shortly.
He turns to move towards the edge of the plateau to spot the others travelling along the trail below and mumbles the words Follow the pretty sparkle little ones.
Smoke will also wave for the others to stop once he draws their attention. You shall go no further. Smoke will wait to make sure the others stop moving forward.
Smoke will cast Prestidigitation first to create a single sparkly to grab the attention, and move it up wards so they will look towards Smoke as he waves for them to stop. Once he has their attention he will draw an X on the trail with the same spell to back up his handgestures.
Rogram scowls up at Smoke. "I wonder what the problem is," he says to the other two, but he stops all the same. While they're waiting, he performs the same two tricks — create a trail of sparkles and make an X on the ground — to see if he can.
Yevele will quietly move forward to where she can get a good view of the low spot. As she gets near the low spot, she will crouch down and crawl if necessary to avoid giving anyone in the vicinity of the column of smoke a clear view of her.
Thia nervously curls a loose strand of blonde hair over one pointy ear and slowly unhooks her light crossbow from its clip on her backpack. Taking a bolt from the quiver over her left shoulder she fits it to the bow. I think this is how it loads. Gods, I hope I don't make a complete fool of myself if I have to fire this thing. She moves into any nearby cover she can find, just in case.
A minute passes as Smoke drops out of view once more.
For Smoke and Yevele:
You hear muted conversation and occasional laughter as you approach the low spot from above. Within, you see that a group has set up a cookfire in the area, where tall boulders have rolled into a loose jumble off of the raiders' main path. The boulders provide ample cover for you. The creatures that you see from a distance do not appear to have noticed you or raised an alarm.
There is a lot of activity in the jumble, with both humans and kobolds in sight.
ooc: less than a minute and as long as Yevele is near. After that he will back away a bit. Just to get an idea if this is a 50 ppl 20 or 10 that kinda count.
Not really the imaginative type (something his mother used to tease him about), Rogram continues to manipulate the weave in the small manner he knows with this prestidigitation, trying to come up with helpful ways to use it like Smoke just did. He makes the sparkles again and changes their color from white to red to blue. He makes another X on the ground, but this time, its color is light so it is barely visible. Then, he makes an O. Then, he makes the shape of a sword. He smiles at that one.
Another minute passes as Smoke continues to scout.
For Smoke and Yevele:
Smoke Perception:6
There are at least two humans and six kobolds that you count in the open in the time that you spend observing the situation. Based on the size of the camp, however, there could be upwards of twenty total including the areas that could shield them from view.
Going on what Smoke can see he moves close to Yevele We should tell the others, im not sure how many there are but we have the option to surprise them.
After that he will move back to the group and try to climb down to the others.
Once he is there and the group is gathered. Theres a raider camp up ahead on this trail. I saw two humans and a bunch of kobolds. But im not sure how many are out of sight. Yevele is still keeping watch.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yevele will continue to watch the camp while hiding behind one of the boulders. But, she will tell Smoke before he leaves "I think we should see if we can sneak past this camp. We are on a scouting mission, not a war party intent on taking out the army. If we attack them, it might tip them off to our presence."
After Smoke leaves to let the others know what is going on, Yevele will scan the landscape ahead of the camp to see if she can spot any trace of a larger army, and can they use the plateau to move past the camp below and find that larger army. After doing that, she will return to concentrating upon the camp to see who may be down there. Are there any prisoners in the camps? Perception: 14
Rogram puts a hand on the hilt of his sword. "Just two humans and some kobolds?" He looks in the direction of the smoke. "They should know about any captives. Let's dispatch all but one of the humans and question them."
OOC: It is the evening. The sun is likely an hour or so away from setting.
For Yevele:
The boulders that surround the lower area ironically offer the humans and kobolds within little cover and make it fairly easy to approach unseen; it would be possible to use those to circumnavigate the group entirely given enough stealthy movement.
By observing for a few minutes, you discern that there are four humans and eight kobolds in the group. The kobolds wield daggers and slings. The humans wear leather armor but their scimitars are stacked against a rock, just out of reach.
The kobolds seem irritated with the human, approaching a few times and shouting back and forth while the three men and one woman squabble between each other as well.

Smoke will follow Yevele and if the option is available will try to climb a tree to get a good look ahead.
