"Excuse me, I am Oniss. I have to say that I have heard great tales of the wizards of Thay but they have seemed to fall short or the tales in my time here. It may be as you stated the 'foolish young' but it is apparent that the snake people seems to want to leave us both forgotten and claim the temples items. Perhaps you and your order can help us and we you? Perhaps (Suggestion) You will help us locate the keys from the temples and leave Artus Alone. "
As Oniss stepped forward he adjust his robes to allow his dagger be at the ready if needed and disguises this as a formal bow.

Zagmira:" Well, that is unfortunate. We could have done great things together, but it seems you do not have what it takes. Know that today you made an enemy. Be glad. "
Artus, with a serious expression on his face, takes off the glove from the right hand to a ring, a golden ring covered in frost. The mere sight of the item provokes chills on the back.
"This is the Ring of Winter, a powerful artefact of which I have been the guardian for a century. Ice magic aside, it has the power of screening against magic detection. Moreover, the wearer does not age. Sages believe that it might have more terrifying powers if ever an evil being were to possess it."

Irommek stares are the ring and Artus with his mouth wide open.
"You mean that I could've had COLD ale from the decanter?!?! Hmph!"
Irommek waits a second with a serious expression that fades into a smile.
"Well, I'm still probably your elder. No more secrets eh?"
Opening his map and making a few more notes, he turns to the group.
"Orvex helped us with the first two shrines and we still haven't got the second cube. However, he went all the way back to the guard house from what I remember him telling us after limping off. Maybe we check out some of the buildings near the campfire here and then get some rest. Afterwards we can go north and then circle back around, exploring this side of the river through town until we can find a way to cross it to get to the other side of Omu."
OOC: Using Cartographer's tools and proficiency to examine the map and nearby larger buildings to identify buildings that could potentially be a shrine of some kind. (8)
Gertrude looks at the ring and feels a chill run down her spine. As much as this should frighten her, instead, she feels.... home sick. She remembers the cold of the mountains, the snow, the peace. Nothing like the unmentionable heat here in the jungle.
"Artus, thank you for sharing your story. Now how does that have anything to do with what the Red Wizards want from you? They must be after something else than the ring?"
Then she tips her finger on Irommek's map. "You're doing a great job in leading us. Keep up the good work!"

To Irommek, "Great job, choose any of those and let's explore ! Let's keep our eyes open now, we know someone is watching us. About the river, I know a spell that would allow the group to walk on water if we need..."

Artus: " I assume they want the RIng, as they crave arcane power and immortality. But I don't know how they knew... We must assume they are here for the Soulmonger as well. The thayan tyrant is a lich after all. "

Kurma knows of the Ring of Winter. Or at least, of the stories around it. It was rumoured that it could freeze entire worlds and command white dragons if an evil being were able to break the Ring's will. The Ring has a mind of its own, weak subjects easily fall under its control.
"Artus, I heard about this ring. A powerful item, for sure. I thought it was a legend. Does it speak to you ? Stories say it is sentient.."
Artus: " It does not speak, but I feel its emotion. And those are not good ones. I believe the land of Chult, somehow, keeps it dormant most of the time. "
OOC She seems to be human, no elf trait is evident.
Oniss steps forward and and interjects.

The spell seems to have no effect at all.
OOC You can do an Arcan check, if you wish.

Oniss raises from the bow noting nothing happened. He looks Zagmire up and down and thinks to himself...'That sometimes works?'
Oniss - Half-Elf Level 1 Sorcerer - ToA
Golden Blurg (GB) - Aarakocra Level 3 Wizard - KR
Oniss' opinion is that Zagmira must have a powerful magical item able to suppress charm effects, but he can be sure.
Zagmira: " Well, that is unfortunate. We could have done great things together, but it seems you do not have what it takes. Know that today you made an enemy. Be glad. "
With that said, Zagmira simply disappears.
OOC Jcburgg I added the Staff of Charming to your inventory and attuned to it. You took that from the previous encounter with the Red Wizards.
"We should killer her now and get it over with..."
Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiABrunella looks at Zagmira. "If you try to kill Artus, you will make an enemy of me", she replies. But the woman is already gone.
Brunella Wildheart, Dwarf Barbarian,Tomb of Annihilation
Nyx, Fairy Cleric, Descent Into Avernus
Artus addressed Kurma and Brunella with simple but truthful words: " Thank you for your words. "
Musharib: " Now, we keep exploring the city? Sundown is a couple of hours away. "
“Well, I guess we need to stay on our toes now. Our enemies know where we are. Artus, why did she wanted you specially? What did you do to them?”
Kurma will leave the cartographer of the group, Irommek, look for the next place to go.

Artus genuinely smiles at the cold ale mention, dropping the conversation.
Irommek identifies two unique buildings nearby.
