"He will turn into the horrors that brought this disease upon my mother. I don't know if I can stand for that. But then again, he was only a victim, just like her... I can't decide."
Thorvin would have been waiting for Gotur to do his scouting but, depending on if the others decided to follow he would follow along too. So, when Alton decided to follow he would go also.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
STR save: 2
Gotur, the plants and vines grow up from the sewer floor and completely restrain the human.... who you can now clearly see is a zombie. It has just turned in the last few moments, and is now caught in the plants. It is restrained. It's body slowly rots away before your eyes as the human form slowly looses shape as the moments pass and changes into the monster zombie.
You can all take an action (Gotur's will be processed last, the others will be processed in order of posting). After that, the zombie will make another STR save.
(there is just 1 monster in this encounter, so initiative will be a bit different, just to speed it up. So it's Gotur (entangle), the Zombie (STR check), then whoever posts next. Then reset.)
P.S. This zombie of course doesn't look as rotted as the others you've just killed.
Alton, your swords dig deep into the poor soul. The second one comes so close to cutting the body in half. (-21)
Thorvin, your flaming radiance dances around the zombie, now raising both of its arms in the air...12 and the zombie burns up in the radiant energy, not able to make any type of undead fortitude roll.
The corpse now lay still, in front of you, smoldering away. Dead.
Alton, you get the sense that this is some type of storage room. It has a few barrels with what you assume is some type of milled grains and/or flour. It also has a few garbage sacks and some sticks and other small rocks. It looks like the former human was here awhile because it's clear where it was laying. Suffering.
You don't find the ring in this room, nor anywhere on the sewer floors.

Thorvin, you find a letter on the corpse. It reads:
- Thank you again for your help finding this ring. It means the world to me. It fell down the sewer grate, the one I showed you yesterday after I got bitten by whatever the hell that thing was. Like I promised, if you return the ring to me, I'll pay you 100 gold. It's my life savings, but the ring means so much more to me than that. Remember, no questions. Just the ring.
Signed,
Magjyre-
Thorvin, you also find a small ring in one of the pockets of the zombie.
At first glance, the ring is made from silver and is shaped kind of like a shield. It has some blue stones embedded in it.
Thorvin will call Venovar over and give him the letter and ring and say to him and the others: "I think it may be time to leave this place. What say we go get a good nights rest and tomorrow we can report what was or is down here and find some help for Venovar's mother?"
(Pending Venovar's response/reaction to the ring and letter)
The party heads back to the Spring Shoot Inn. It's quiet right now, likely because it's well past midnight and the patrons have all gone home for the evening. This inn is a modest, quiet inn, which will charge 5sp a night for a room. A late night meal is possible (3sp) and breakfast would be 2sp.
In the morning, you all emerge from your rooms rested and head down the stairs into the main part of the inn. There are patrons eating and chatting. They are mostly halflings, gnomes and other diminutive sorts.
You can all take a long rest. What will you do now?
(ooc: I would say it depends what Venovar wants to do)
After Thorvin wakes and says his prayers he will go downstairs to see if any of his friends have made it down. He will order breakfast and ask the innkeeper what Temples are in the city and of the ones that are there which one would be the one to go for healing.
Thorvin and Gotur, the innkeeper tells you of two main temples in Neverwinter that may be of assistance: The tall and many windowed temple of Oghma, and the temple of Tyr. Either one will have powerful healers who might be able to help. If it's not too late.
"Would ye lads like a map of the city? Sounds like ye aren't from around here"
Innkeeper Sally would sell you a map of Neverwinter for a gold piece. You'll be able to find any main location in the city with no problems with this in your possession.

Alton shakes his head as he says, “What a shame.”
Then he makes two strikes with his Shortswords, the first including sneak attack. (Both at advantage bc he is restrained)

What would you like to do?
This was a 'fresh' zombie right? We may need to search it.....may have the ring that dropped into the sewer.
Alton will search the room and possibly greater sewer area for the ring as well.

(Thorvin are you searching the body?)

“Agreed,” says Alton tiredly.

"So... find a place to get Ven's mom seen to, then back down to see what more we can find in the sewers?"
