(yes, I noticed that if you add all of your existing funds you almost have enough even before selling anything.)
You make it to the Wizards Wares. It seems like quite an established shop. You all enter, and as planned prior to entering, Venovar will be the character first interacting with the shopkeeper, who is shown below.
So there's the potion of invisibility, the potion of vitality and the spellbook which had 3 spells legible that you're putting up for sale.
"Greetings, friends. Welcome to my shop. Are you looking for something in particular?"
She looks at all of you but is speaking directly to Venovar. Of course, any one of you can attempt to interact with her and/or answer her however you see fit. Feel free to make any rolls as well if need be. (persuasion, etc.)
"Hello there! Me and my friends are rather looking to sell some items with magical properties to you." he says as he goes up to her and shakes her hand. "Before we get into the details, could I have your name? I personally feel more comfortable when I know the name of the person I'm doing business with."
(Also, I don't want to rewind time too much, but Venovar would have asked the priestess what the difference between raise dead and resurrection is before he left for the shop.)
Venovar, the priestess says to you "Resurrection and Raise Dead... both very powerful magics. We use raise dead for the most part when the subject has been... passed... for no longer than 10 days. Anything longer than that we usually have to invoke a more powerful energy, and that is when we use resurrection. Either way friend, we can keep your mother here until you return."
The shopkeeper responds to Venovar"Lucy... the name is Lucy. And what shall I call you?" she seems like a pleasant person, and with your friendly greeting you assume she's going to do business with you. She looks at you all briefly, and then back to Venovar "I don't usually buy items from folks off the street, and I do have ample stock of quality magical consumables. That being said, you never know what kinds of things folk like you bring my way. What are you folks looking to sell?"
"You can call me Venovar. It's very nice to meet you. Now, the first thing I want to show you is a spellbook containing... I think if I remember correctly, the spells were 'Magic Missile', 'Sleep', and 'Charm Person'." Venovar shows her the spellbook.
The shopkeeper looks at the spellbook. "Hmmmm... definitely some common lower level spells here. Oh... I meant no offence by that of course. It's just, I think I have about 10 of all of these scrolls already in the back... although I must say, I am quite intrigued by the book itself. Where on earth did you get it? Hmmmmm...." she ponders. "I'd give you 75 gold for the spell book."
Gotur, you can see from the rapport that is being built by Venovar and the shopkeeper that she seems genuine. You also know that she operates a business though, and from the look of it in here, she does quite well for herself. Her offer of 75 gold for 3 level 1 spells seems a touch low to you, but she did say she has ample stock of these spells already, so perhaps she's making a good offer based on her situation.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We did a job for Glowkindle, the owner of the Wizard's Tower Brewery, that involved a getting rid of some giant rats down in his cellar. Apparently the story of the place was that it was made on top of an old wizard's tower, and we found a hole in the wall that led to a part of that. We found the spellbook in the wizard's laboratory, and surprisingly, we encountered the animated skeleton of the wizard himself! Anyways, it's a long and crazy story, but I do have to say, this spellbook does seem rare based on the where it was found. I mean, who knows how old it is? Maybe we could get a higher price for it? We have more to sell, but I want to deal with one thing at a time."
Venovar will make a persuasion check to try to get a higher price and an insight check to see if her prices are fair or not.
The elf woman listens intently as Venovar recalls the story of how the party retrieved the spell book from the brewery celler. "Ah yes, Glowkindle! I had heard from a colleague of mine that he was looking to expand his brewery... wow, it seems you all are quite the bunch of adventurers. Animated skeletons and the like... hmmmm..." she pauses and thinks about it. "It must not have been easy retrieving this book. And you're right, it may very well be old as it looks like no other book I've seen before. Alright. I'll give you a hundred gold for the book."
Venovar, your insight tells you that she's genuine. You've built a great rapport with her. She has offered you more than what she is comfortable paying for the spells... it's the book itself that she likes. You think another attempt at boosting the price might annoy her. Or not. You're not 100% sure.
Gotur, please roll a perception check as you wander the shop.
"That sounds good! The next items we have are two potions that we have identified as a potion of "vitality" and a potion of "invisibility". We found these near where the spellbook was found." He takes out the two potions from his pack and sets them down. "We also found another potion that seemed to have an enlarging effect, which was making the rats in the cellar bigger than usual, but it was too damaged to be of any use."
"Vitality and invisibility, you say? Now you're talking. These potions are quite rare, quite rare indeed. They'd be a great addition to my wares. You should've shown me these first!" The elf chuckles. She looks at them and smells them to make sure they are legit, which they are.
"Hmmm.... Venovar, how about we do 500 for the lot of it? So for the book and the two potions. Anymore than that I'd have to go to the bank, although I am not sure I can spare more than the 500. What do you say?"
Gotur, you see numerous staves and wands of all shapes and sizes in the shop, but one out of the lot catches your eye. It's a staff with a beautiful, quite intricate bird carvings adorning its shaft.
"Sounds like a deal to me!" Venovar makes the transaction with the shopkeeper. After the transaction, he says "It's been a pleasure doing business with you. Have a great day!" as he walks to the rest of the party. "I have a plan for what to do about the money. I will use my own funds and some of the gold we got from the transaction to revive my mother, and you can split the rest amongst yourselves. You've been such a great help to me, my friends. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."
If I have done my math correctly, Venovar will use his funds(35gp) and 115gp from the transaction to pay for the revival. That leaves everybody else with about 116gp and 3sp each. One person will get 4sp instead of 3, but it's not that big of a difference. Venovar is too grateful for his friends' aid to want a cut of the money.
"Right, fantastic then!" The shopkeeper shuffles around behind the counter for a moment, and then brings up a pouch with the funds. All of the money is there, she didn't try any shady business. She bids you all farewell and you leave the shop unless you want to do more business of course.
(The math sounds right to me about the money! Thanks for doing that. Please everyone add your respective shares into your inventory. Whoever has the potions and the spell book in their inventory can also remove them)
So, Venovar would head back to pay the priestess and revive his mother. She is pleased to see you back so soon, and takes the money from you as she whispers some words to her colleague and you can see a few of them head downstairs to start the spell proceedings. The spell takes about an hour, and she will be very tired and likely unconscious for a few hours afterwards before you will be able to interact with her.
So - did everyone go with Venovar back to the temple? If not, what might you have done? Maybe spend some of that hard earned coin? As I said, it will take an hour plus a few recovery hours for Ven's mom to be conscious. So you all have some time to play with. Will Venovar wait at the temple? Or will you all go and do something together? There's the sewer still if that is something you want to return to, and the professor if she is at the Spring Shoot Inn at this time of day. Or perhaps something else?
Gotur, when you examined that intricate staff further, you saw a very small label on the stand: Staff of Birdcalls
Venovar would stick with the party for whatever they want to do, and then go to the temple. "I'll stay with you guys until you have finished whatever you wish to do. I think then I'm going to resurrect my mother, and spend some time with her for a day or two."

Alton will quickly look around the magic shop for anything within his price range that he might be interested in.
