"Aye, that could work. This may afford us an opportunity to capture one alive and get some information out of them. Did you see how many guards there were?"
Daeris look to Lowblo and then to the others, "We handled more before. If the group can draw them out they will be distracted enough and won't be expecting us to be ready."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lowblo carefully moves forward as quietly as possible, crossing the small stream (about 2 feet deep). He works his way toward the brush until he is able to make out a small clearing.
In the clearing, two goblins sit facing each other, arguing, playing some sort of game with their hands. With the light sound of the stream trickling nearby they seem pretty intent on their current distraction. The area seems to be set up as a 'blind' to ambush anyone who might try to enter the cave. Clearly, they are not concerned about this happening.
Nelly and Daeris lead the others toward the cave entrance after giving Lowblo time to get in place. I assumed the same marching order.
As you get to the area pointed out by Lowblo you hear two voices, likely goblins, arguing through the dense brush.
Each square is 5 feet. Each player has approximately 30 feet of movement per round. The stream takes 15 feet of movement and each area of dense bush takes 10. Only Lowblo can see the goblins at this point.
I need everyone to roll initiative (even if we don't start combat just yet).

The group moves forward making only enough sound to be heard by the goblins. Lowblo watches from the brush wondering if the goblins might never hear the party.
Lifting his head, one of the goblins presses a greasy finger to his lips, "shhhh". He points toward the stream and slowly starts moving toward the trees gesturing for his companion to follow, "maybe they back".
ROUND 1: Surprise! Lowblo: will get a shot at either goblin (with advantage) as a surprise. You can chose to fire at either one as soon as they start moving or once they start entering the brush more taking a clean shot at the last one (Goblin 2). Once they are in the brush they have 3/4 cover. For now roll 1 attack (with advantage) and one damage roll for the surprise attack.
ROUND 2: Everyone!
Only Lowblo can see the goblins at this point but everyone else has a good idea of where they are based on Lowblo relating the position. You could:
-attack and move -hold your attack until a certain trigger is met (ie. I fire when I see a goblin) -move and attack Depending on what others do everyone could potentially get close enough for a melee attack (yes, the goblins are that bad a their job).
Give me your main plan and a backup. Roll for any attacks and damage you might need. I will roll for anything missed.
ROUND ORDER for round after Lowblo surprise attack. Goblin 2(15) Chantrea (14) Nelly / Goblin 1 (9) Lowblo / Daeris / Nelly (6) Ruuvar (5)
I will post again as soon as I get all of the orders or Monday evening at the latest.
ROUND 1: Lowblo fires a crossbow bolt from a crouched position hitting the second goblin in the leg. Blood starts to spurt out of the wound and the goblin grunts out a muffled scream, reaching down briefly in horror and then his eyes dart in every direction.
Ready for round 2. Everyone heard that goblin so you know where they are located. The map posted is for after the sneak attack.
Ruvaar's main plan: ready his light crossbow and fire when he has a visual on either of the goblins
Light Crossbow attack: 22
Light Crossbow dmg: 3
Ruvaar's back up plan: Assist the nearest party member. If that player is engaged in a ranged attack Ruvaar readies and fires his crossbow at the Goblin they are attacking. If that player is engaged in a melee attack Ruvaar moves to that player to assist with his longsword.
Nelly roars a battlecry and leaps over the stream, axe held high. Her shout sounds something like "Bigby's Belligerent Bushwacker!" It rings briefly in the air before she crashes into the underbrush, axe singing amidst the leaves as it seeks its first victim. (Attacking the first goblin she reaches, by the most direct line possible.)
Attack: 26 Damage: 19
(I rolled the wrong damage die. Should be D8. I rolled low though, so feel free to keep the bad D10 if you prefer) :P
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chantrea will move into a position where she can see the goblins. If she can, she'll fire her shortbow at the one that looks like it might be attacking Lowblo (or the one he attacked, whichever). Beyond that, she will be watching her comrades to see if anyone becomes injured, and therefore requires healing.

ROLES:
Goblin 1 bow attack: 11 Lowblo sneak attack damage (had advantage and I messed up) 5
Lowblo attacks goblin 1 without advantage Attack: 23 Damage: 5
HOUSEKEEPING
Okay so I had to re-do some things :) The rolls are good I promise :) I hope I got this right.
Sneak Attack
Beginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.
You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.
The amount of the extra damage increases as you gain levels in this class, as shown in the Sneak Attack column of the Rogue table.
I forgot that Lowblo gets sneak attack any time he has advantage OR when a player is beside his target. In the case of the Round 1 attack he had advantage so I rolled and added the damage to that goblin in the timeline below. In the case of the second attack I initially rolled with disadvantage because of the 3/4 cover . . which I recalled gives a +5 to AC instead so I changed it to a normal roll. (both would have missed). If he had hit he would have had the extra sneak attack damage there as well.
I also made several rolls based on Goblin #2 surviving Lowblo's first attack that I deleted. Thanks for sticking with it while I figure this out. . not that any of you would have known :) This is why I wanted to learn this way. . . gives me time to sort out things properly without impacting people at a table.
Limping, the goblin struck in the leg by Lowbo heads toward the cave entrance, after only two quick hobbles he falls over flat on his face - dead.
Chantrea moves toward the mouth of the cave, careful to stay out of sight of the entrance just in case. Seeing one of the goblin’s through the brush she takes a shot which lands a fair distance away cutting through a branch that falls near the goblin.
Nelly rushes through the stream with a roaring battle cry just as a shocked goblin looses an arrow at her. The arrow goes wide as Nelly slashes her way through the brush bringing her axe across biting deeply into the side of the tiny greenskin.
Lowblo fires toward the goblin in the brush, the bolt sinking into a nearby tree just as a beam of blue-white light shoots from Daeris’ outstretched arm, the sounds, raui-forst barely audible on her lips. The beam drives into the ground just in front of the goblin’s feet, slight frost forming on nearby leaves.
Ruuvar moves between Chantrea and Daeris and closer to the stream, ready to assist. Finding an opportunity to fire at the golin as well, he draws back his bow and fires. The arrow passes by the goblin high causing him to place his hand, uselessly, over his head for protection.
“Wahh!” the goblin screams falling to the ground bleeding and obviously overwhelmed, his voice muffled by the sounds of the stream and the nearby bushes “oooh . . . this sooo bad”, he gasps holding up his hands defensively.
Lowblo materializes from the woods beside his companions. He puts a finger to his mouth and signals for the group to gather in.
"Cave ahead. Guards ready to surprise. I go behind and surprise superserers. You play dumb and walk to cave?"
Ruvaar nods upon hearing the Goblin's report.
"Aye, that could work. This may afford us an opportunity to capture one alive and get some information out of them. Did you see how many guards there were?"
The goblin points to his ear for emphasis, "Me heard two. Could be more?"
Daeris look to Lowblo and then to the others, "We handled more before. If the group can draw them out they will be distracted enough and won't be expecting us to be ready."
I will post tomorrow based on the group moving forward with the plan.
