Seeing the goblin struggling, and also seeing that Chantrea is there to back him up should things go wrong, Ruvaar takes is rope out of his pack and throws one end of it down to the Goblin for him to climb up.
Relief washes over the goblin's face. He takes hold of the rope and nimbly makes his way up the rope. Pausing on the ledge he looks up at Ruvaar, "I take to friend. Over bridge".
The goblin, if Ruvaar allows, will climb out and gesture toward the tunnel leading to the bridge that crosswe above the tunnel, apparently unphased by the corpses of his recent comrades.
Momentarily stunned by the shininess of the coins, Lowblo stares motionless into the chest while the exchange is happening between his companions and the gobin.
As they begin to move away, Lowblo glances around to see if anyone is watching him and then grabs a few handfuls of coins and stuffs them into any available space he can find.
Sufficiently stuffed, he follows the rest of the group.
Ruvaar allows the goblin to continue but pays very close attention to his every move so as to be ready in case the goblin double crosses him - also relying on his new found friends to back him up should he and the goblin come to blows
Chantrea is wary - this goblin appears genuine, but she knows all too well how devious and vile this type of creature can be. She keeps her arrow nocked, trained on his chest, even as he moves.
The goblin moves ahead until he reaches the bridge, Lowblo catches up at this point (items added to character sheet).
Looking back for confirmation, he slowly heads across the bridge, the party following behind.
As the tunnel gently curves to the left ahead of you, the smell of cooking meat reminds you that you have not eaten in awhile. You wonder at the source of the meat and quickly push that thought aside as the goblin stops to look back.
"Almost to kitchen. . almost to friend. I go now?" He licks his lips but you don't think it is out of hunger, he shifts his weight back and forth from one foot to the other, "Friend past fire with Yeemik, he boss now you kill Klarg. I go?"
Lowering his head, the goblin moves forward. As he progresses down the tunnel you can see some light coming from ahead. There is a room ahead that is fairly well lit. You begin to pick up the smell of 'rot' mixed in with the scent of cooked meat.
"There!", lowing his voice, the goblin repeats, "there. . there friend".
Ruvaar is just able to make out what might possibly be two goblins moving in the room ahead. It is then that he notices a larger form on a ledge . . it could be Sildar?
Before continuing Ruvaar turns to the rest of the party and places a finger over his lips to indicate they should proceed quietly. He then places one hand on the goblin's shoulder and the other on his sword and gently starts moving the goblin forwards further into the passage to get a better view of the room, taking care to be as quiet as possible.
You press forward, Lowblo making his way ahead in the line. . the passage is not really wide enough to pass each other without effort.
A goblin from the area leans to the side and looks out into the passage. "Hey!, you . . " he begins directing his words at the goblin in front of you. . his eyes widen in horror at the sight of the party approaching. Another goblin had appeared behind him and then quickly backed away.
You can see Sildar more clearly on the ledge. he is covered in bruises and barely seems to be able to hold himself up. A goblin stands behind him, based on his clothing and the way he carries himself, you expect he is possibly Yeemik, their leader. Noticing the party he carefully positions himself behind Sildar, and shouts, "kill"
Everyone give me a first action (they are surprised) and then roll initiative (check your character sheet for initiative bonus - it is listed in main page. . or just roll 1d20 and I will add it :P )
You will not be able to pass each other. in the narrow passage easily.
Having been discovered Ruvaar grabs the goblin ahead of him by the neck and draws his sword. Using the goblin as a meat shield Ruvaar charges the nearest goblin (who also happens to be blocking the party's way out of the passage) with the intention of running him through with his sword.
Ruvaar pushes the goblin forward at he rushes the one blocking the passage. (Make an attack roll) and damage just in case. You will be able to strike out at the goblin in front of you. . .you might normally have advantage but the freaked out goblin doesn't take well to being used as a shield.
Nelly is not quite able to get past anyone at this point, you can take another action if you would like
Lowblo, you can fire a shot with the crossbow, roll with advantage to hit and roll damage. You have advantage so you will get an extra 1d6 sneak attack damage.
Daeris is looking intently at the goblin holding Sildar and seems about to cast
Chantrea can fire a bowshot at anything within line of site.
*If anyone wants, I can do your rolls, the info should be on your character sheet, but I don't mind getting myself reacquainted with the rules.
Lowblo fires his crossbow at the lead goblin, narrowly missing Sildar as well as the goblin (There is a fun optional rule that if you miss because of cover - but would have hit otherwise and your roll was high enough to hit the cover based on their AC you hit the cover - luckily you would have just missed the goblin anyway)
The leader ducks his head behind Sildar, who didn't seem to notice.
Ruvvar pushes forward trusting his goblin shield in front of him. The goblin goes limp dropping slightly giving Ruvaar the perfect opening. He brings his sword down into the goblins shoulder and it cuts deeply toward his center, the force of the blow bringing his head down toward his shoulder.. . his legs buckle and he sinks to the ground. During this entire process a high pitched, throaty squeal constantly emits from the goblinoid meat shield.
Chantrea looses an arrow at the goblin near the stairs just past Ruuvar. The arrow hits the goblin through the jaw and neck, dropping him to the ground, his hand only getting halfway toward his face before his expression softens and he falls onto the stairs, one arm bent awkwardly behind him.
Daeris, looks toward the goblin leader, eyes narrowing she mutters "pūcan galdorleóþ", and hurries into the room shouting "stop!"
Nelly rushes forward through the eruption and carnage and takes a swing at the one of the three goblins remaining aside from the leader (you can make an attack roll and damage or hold the swing) (Yeemik's action is the same time as yours)
Yeemik the goblin leader surveys the room, his eyes going to Daeris his expression turns from panic to confusion, then with a slight glimmer of hope, he calls out, "stop!" He remains behind a haggard and beaten Sildar with a dagger near the mans neck.
The surprise round is over
Orders for the next round will be done based on initiative but you can decide to hold your action based on something happening or not happening. There are no right answers here :) 1 square is 5 feet. . so pretty tight in here.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Trying to stay out of the goblin leader's sight, Lowblo reloads his crossbow. Having quite a bit of confidence in his abilities, he regains view of the goblin, aims and fires.

Giving the goblin his most menacing look Ruvaar responds to the goblin's request:
"Not until I know my friend is safe. So ye better hope he's still alive..."
With this Ruvaar shoves the goblin forward a step.
"Lead on worm."

Smelling food cooking, Lowblo notices his tummy rumbling.
He rubs his belly hoping that helps to appease it, but no luck.
He turns his attention back to the matter at hand and prepares his crossbow for action.
