I'll be leaving background and backstory stuff blank until I have more information about the other players' characters and the world of the campaign, but I'll be filling in the basics (class, race, equipment, etc), as well as appearence information.

A good lore post is coming soon. This world is also a work in progress (being used by my team to create our own tabletop system) and some of the lore/ideals have been shifted to incorporate my teammates' ideas...I'll try to stick to the basic story when I first conceived it.
For now, picture a world where final fantasy 7 smashed into a DnD world and war broke out...the resulting aftermath was a mix of powerful magic, tech and a small splash of steampunk to make up for the missing parts.
Oh, and there's the Great Divide in the WESTERN SKY that is impenetrable and always glows like a miniature moon.

Human bounty hunter with an eagle eye and a long rifle.
wears a sleeveless leather duster with an almost gasmask like helmet under a wide hood, as well as a heavily augmented metal arm (think winter soldier from the marvel movies meets Nick Valentine from Fallout 4)
seeing as how this game will have a steampunk aspect, I wanted to lean heavily into that.
There will be an option to adjust characters however you want (within my approval) after the player knowledge lore has been posted, so don't fret about details.
This game is going to break some rules, rely on imagination, and not always follow "DnD doctrine". I like less than half of it half as well as it deserves due to its spotty and half-stolen history, but...we press. Break rules, have fun, make it our own.

I do understand that, as of right now, ya'll don't have a lot to go off of. That will come in time. Imagine if the Final Fantasy 7 world smashed into a DnD world and steampunnk made up that 10% of the rest. That's kind of the world we're looking at.
I will post a good and long lore post soon. As usual with my stuff, it can be slow to start but it picks up pace pretty well, so patience is appreciated.

Since it's pretty much the same group as Avernus, we'll hold off on some of the lore/discussion until Avernus is close to the the end. Rather than try to run two campaigns at once, we'll focus on one at a time.

As we play through Avernus, I'll begin adding some lore here for you all to use for character knowledge and building.

Who's interested in two campaigns at once? Same GM, same players. Avernus and Zaraithian Chronicles: Part I (there are three parts).
Let me know. I think I've got the lore completed enough to get a good start. Final Fantasy 7 meets DnD.

Noted..Bring Zaraithian Chronicles characters up to 4. Max health first 3 levels. Multi-class is fine. I'll have some lore posts soon and work on picking up the pace.

The Durunian Kingdom has been locked in a cold war with the Puhan Kingdom to the east for at least 10 years now at best. The Aslodians have kept to themselves in the cold north hidden behind an impressive mountain wall for as long as anyone can remember.
The Calamity Wars, a thing of legend and mystic stories, is as much as prophetic story as is the absence of mirrors in the world. The Demons can come through mirrors, so the legend goes. Defeated by the Gods of old and banished to the mirror world, the Demons yearn to escape. It's told that the Calamity Wars tore a hole in the world as we know it. The Great Divide in the sky is proof enough. Many have tried to visit it, only to either disappear or come back raving mad, speaking mutterings that can't be properly understood.
In the present time, the cold war between Durunia and Puhan has been slow. Trade is still open between the two kingdoms - to include travel and commerce of all kinds - but a strong political tension remains. Long ago, the two forces met on the battlefield only to find they simply couldn't defeat each other. Puhans are known for their technological wit, while Durunians are strong and strong willed. In the end, an accord was reached, but not without tensions.
You, experienced adventures (perhaps trying to retire) have found yourselves in a small tree-top village called Lume in the Durunian Kingdom. Centrally located and small, trade caravans come once a week. Life is quiet here. It's comfortable. Away from the magical and technological advances that are barely understood by even those that use them, life is good at the moment.
Durunians: Hardy, strong willed. Chiseled body types, powerful, large noses.
Puhans: Smaller, smarter, magically and technologically advanced. Long ears like elves.
Aslodians: A mysterious people of unknown origins. They keep to themselves in the cold wasteland to the north. Rumors have it they worship dragons up there.
The above describes "true blood" of each locale. While many try to claim true blood, most are mixed. Over the thousands of years since the Calamity Wars, the Gods seem to have withdrawn from the world. Mirrors, as the legend states, are in non-existence in the world. They represent a strong connection to the demonic mirror world. Mirrors are a rarity.

Sounds good.
Patience with this one. It involves dimension/plane differences/possible time travel/final fantasy/dnd/light steampunk....so it's quite different.
Expect slow to start then regular weekly/bi-weekly posts..per usual with my stuff. Quality posts over quantity.

My character: Connor Liadon
Human bounty hunter with an eagle eye and a long rifle.

I'll be playing Zenzita, a Aasimar Paladin with a checkered past.
I'm excited to read the lore and see where this world takes us! Take your time, I know it will be worth it.

Finally decided to sit down and make Connor as a character in heroforge. Anyone who wants a clearer picture of what he looks like can use this link:

I'd be down to do both campaigns.
I'd be down to do both. Though I'd like to up the pace if possible
I can do both. I agree with Loric and think we should up the pace a little.

Zenzita is leveled and ready to go.
Great lore, DM. I'm excited to start.
Connor is leveled up. Can't wait to jump in.
I can send you backstory if you want me to know that I know some of the regions and lore of the world.
