Whitley would see Balm getting molested by an unexpected undead creature. His first reaction would be to clucth his holy symbol and call upon Tymora’s favor to strike it down. Moving closer to get better view of their foe, he peaks out of the room and releases a flash of divine fire before heading back into the cover of their room.
Action: Cast Sacred Flame
Dexterity saving throw DC 12 or take 5 radiant damage.
The undead creature shifts it's hate filled gaze to the cleric, as the swirl of divine flame lashes out at it. It nimbly leans to the side, letting the flame rush past it's head and splash on to the wall, filling the hallway with the somewhat pleasant scent of slightly charred wood.
Throwing her shoulders forward and over the edge of the mattress, Biri puts one foot on the side of the bed as she brings her hand up, under the blanket, into the handle of her shield hanging on the bed frame. There is a fraction of a second as she's in free fall, before the red chess piece on her necklace flickers, casting Jump, and she kicks off the side of the bed, slamming it into the wall behind her and sending her hurtling the other way. As she passes under the doorway her bony head-frill takes part of the door frame with it, hopefully landing on top of the first creature with a satisfying crunch.
Weather this works or not, people are going to notice she sleeps in the buff, because while the blanket is covering her front, anyone behind her can clearly see a big ol' red dragon-butt.
(To be specific: Bonus Action: Cast Jump, from the ring. Movement: Picking up object while rising from prone [-15ft], Jump 25.5ft (8.5ft*3) over Balm's head. Action: Shove the creature to the ground.)
Shove check: Str + Athletics. Since she has to go high enough to not hit a Balm and low enough to not hit the ceiling, I'm assuming this is with Disadvantage.
// Ok, well I screwed up the formatting on the die roll, and apparently you have to do those differently on a Chrome OS, but point being that roll was a natural 1. //
As an alternative, if the creature is more than 25ft from her, assume she sits up and grabs her shield, then uses her last 15ft of movement to flank Balm if she can reach her. As per the Protection Fighting Style, I'll use my Reaction to impose Disadvantage on the next attack that targets her before my turn comes around again.
If she's too far to do either, she'll stand up and retrieve the shield, then retrieve her flail as her action.
OOC: With the roll of a Nat 1, I'm going to say that you'll make it over Balm's head, and in front of whatever is coming down the hall from that side, but that you're going to land awkwardly, and not be in a position to shove it to the ground, due to having to keep your balance. Fair?
OOC: Trian...but I believe Bounces hasn't posted in a long while. With the party's permission, I'll bring in Hilliard at Init 13 for Round 2, after the zombie swipes at Biri. We will replace Trian as well.
Round 1: Balm - 16 (Blasted target) Trian - 16 Whitley - 16 (Just missed target) Monster A - 16 (Missed Balm...twice) Biri - 7 (Knocked a small hole in the wall, fell, almost broke something else, but is in front of a zombie now) Zombie - 4 (Yet to act)
The fully revealed shambling corpse in front of Biri looks down at it...if it was intelligent, you'd say it was trying not to laugh at Biri. Instead, it swings at her.
Biri was sleeping, I'm assuming not in her splint mail, correct? If she wasn't, then the 16 will hit her. If not, it clangs off of the hastily raised shield.
Round 2:
Balm - 16 Trian - 16 Whitley - 16 Monster A - 16 Hilliard - 13 Biri - 7 Monster B - 4
Go ahead and take your actions Balm and Whitley. They will occur at the same time as the creature fighting Balm.
Whitley clutches his holy symbol tight. After a moment, he calls out. "Lady Luck's fortune smiles upon us!". Suddenly, Balm, Biri and Whitley feel imbued by a divine blessing.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The creature snarls at Whitely, as the divine blessing flows over the party, shrouding them in a faint aura of golden light. It swipes with it's hand, and just barely misses Balm. Unfortunately the follow up swing of it's longsword slides along her ribs, cutting in to the half-elf in the hallway.
Apologies, totally missed the note at the bottom of the other post that it was also my turn again!
Balm chuckles as the attack hits her mantle, not actually harming her body (6 hp removed from her temporary total, down to 7). She chants a few words in a forgotten language and plants a hex on the creature with her bonus action. Her action is to cast shocking grasp against the monster in front of her.
Melee Spell Attack: 13 Damage: 1 lightning damage plus 2 necrotic damage from hex
If it's wearing metal armor, shocking grasp gives the attack advantage, so on the offchance it's got arrmor on, here's a second attack roll: 11
Plus 1 to attack from bless, almost forgot.
If the attack hits, it can't take reactions, and Balm will step away out of melee range. If possible, she'll duck back into the room but still within sight of it. Or she'll head down the hall to give her some breathing room if there's a way to not be within melee range of the shuffling foot dragger down there.
The undead creature leans ever so slightly backwards following it's attacks on Balm, letting her grasping hand close right in front of it's chest, missing by a hair's breadth.
Balm - 16 (Attacked, just missed) Trian - 16 (Assuming out of the game now, I've modified the encounter to not penalize the party) Whitley - 16 (Cast Bless) Monster A - 16 (Attacked Balm twice, hitting once) Hilliard - 13 (Action in round 2 still to come) Biri - 7 (Action in round 2 still to come) Monster B - 4 (Action in round 2 still to come)
Brickhouse passes her hand over the red horse's head icon on her shield, "You come not with light," and rises to her feet using the shield with an uppercut, looking to catch the zombie under it's jaw, "by light be gone."
Casting Ensnaring Strike and making an improvised weapon attack (Attack: 9 Damage: 4) with the shield.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
A hyperactive stoat comes running around the corner and jumps at the zombie just as a man with long-ish, prematurely gray hair steps around the same corner. With a gesture and a word, a shock of power surrounds the stoat and strikes at the zombie!
shocking grasp Attack: 21 Damage: 2 At advantage if the zombie has metal equipment 11

I think that puts Hilliard at 13 then.

Sorry if that's confusing. To clarify (again);
1) The first action is if I can reach the creature (and the roll fails if I do).
2) The second is if I can only reach Balm.
3) The third is if I can reach neither.

Who else are we waiting for until the next round starts?
(Trian, then Hillard)

Action: Cast Bless on Biri, Balm and Whitley
Fair for the fall, permission granted for my part, I take 5, and yes she's unarmored.

Wow those rolls are... not amazing!

(I think I'm missing the reason that improvised weapon attack is at disadvantage.)
OOC: The improvised weapon doesn't necessarily have disadvantage, but it doesn't get the proficiency bonus to it
