On the third day, about halfway through your travel, Shishalki, Syvis, and Thodek begin to notice something odd. Currently traversing a small cavern, the smell of natural gas begins to fill the air.
Several of the other members of the group begin to cough, and you can tell staying here much longer will not end well.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Would we have any knowledge of such pockets? Such as, do they usually exist in small patches or large areas, would we know anyway to help prevent the worst effects, is it better to move through or go around?
Thodek: You would have knowledge that small pockets of natural gas can indeed build up in certain places in the Underdark, and it isn’t uncommon for a gas leak to start. You would also know that in general, most are relatively small areas. The best way to avoid them is to simply change routes and go around, but if worse comes to worse, holding your breath or limiting air intake is a good way to prevent any negative effects.
Thodek nods, "It can be dangerous, even more so for those that are small, or injured. For the sake of our companion, I suggest we find an alternative route."
Shishalki wouldn’t know much more than that based on the roll.
The cavern doesn’t look much longer like maybe 30-50 feet or so. Additionally, there seem to be one or two small tunnels that bypass the cavern completely.
What would you like to do?
(Hah! My bad about the gas. If not smell, you “detect signs” of it. However one might be able to)
The party is then able to quickly make their way towards the side tunnel and continue the day of travel. Almost immediately after you exit the cave, their is a large difference in the air, and you can tell you have exited the worst of the gas.
(Feel free to wrap up speaking about the encounter, or take care of any RP. Other than that, I will be continuing with travel hopefully through a post tomorrow morning.)
Travel continues peacefully until late on the fourth day as the party is beginning to look for a suitable place to bed down for the night. Those at the back of the group would begin to notice as you traverse through a tight cavern what appears to be a yellowish ooze of some sort that has begun to trail the party. It slowly follows your group around 20-30 feet behind the party, but at least right now doesn’t appear to be gaining or losing ground.
Nicholas shields his eyes agains the flame, its brightness glaring against the almost perpetual dim light he is used to. Brandishing his torch, in the direction of the ooze, he attempts to deter it from following them any further.

The flames engulf the slow moving ooze and it gives as much of a hiss as a creature of that type can (-7hp). Afterwards, the ooze stops and begins to slowly dissociate into a puddle before quickly reforming and beginning its inching hunt towards the group.
From that far back, the torch doesn’t seem to have too much of an affect, but it does cause the creature to falter almost imperceptibly for a short time.
Shishalki does as he says, quickly becoming unseeable in the nearby shadows of the cavern, however does not notice or see and other creatures/oozes nearby.

Syvis sighs at the inconvenience. Taking a moment to study its movements, she steadies herself to test the creature's fortitude against conventional weapons.

Thodek plants himself firmly between it and the bulk of the party and raises one hand making a small gesture as a bell like noise rings through the tunnels, focused on the ooze.
(I'm good to continue moving along, anyone else have anything?)
