Chain doesn't even say anything anymore, just absentmindedly shooting zombies. It just became a weird day for him, and he's still processing Amber's death.

(correct)
Two Zombies lay dead by your feet and one is merely gripping to life, it claws at the air as it hisses, wanting nothing more than to bite you, all intelligence had left this creature, no signs of what was one there and any human element is completely disappeared, the last zombie has flung itself onto Carols and attempts to attack 23
(standard double dice + double the amount for now, I use another method with a 1d8 + 3, but this would be for the weapons only and it’s really up to everyone what they prefer, DM is flexible with this, but must be a mutual agreement)
Zombie’s head flies clean off and crumpled to the floor, you’ve successfully slain the zombies, well done to the three of you, best get out of the forest as quickly as possible before something else comes for you.
Now that the threat is dealt with, Chain finally has time to address his companions.
"We need to leave, right now. I saw what kills people here, it got to Amber before I could do anything, and if we don't go it will get to us too." Having said that, Chain starts to make his way back to the inn.
"You're not gonna scare something that can ambush you literally out of nowhere, so instead of looking far ahead, focus on your immediate area. If that thing comes for you, you won't see it coming until it's right on top of you. And it's a big-ass spider by the way, so good luck not shitting yourself in the process." Chain responds while trying to heed his own advice.
(You’re right to think this game is influenced by a book for half of it, the other half is Homebrew, BUT it’s not Harry Potter and it’s Mad Eye Joe)
As you are about to leave the forest you see a couple of druids with Arcana symbols watching you from the fog, when you go to look they’re gone. Our adventures will come to learn that there is more going on here than meets the eye.
"Chain, what did you find?!" Another swing. 25 to hit, 4 slashing.
"Nevermind what I found now, just kill the damn things!" Chain shouts in response as he lets loose a bolt at the nearest zombie from a safe distance.
Crossbow: 13 Damage: 7
Carlos locks onto the furthest zombie (range w/ eldritch blast is 300 ft).

Now that I have back up, Vishaal will be a little more reckless.

( Amber's dead, but it's safe to assume not everyone knows that except for Chain right? )

Seeing that one got past me, I will quickly turn around and run up to it. 18 to hit, 6 slashing.

Vishaal is in no position to argue, so he follows back out of the forest.
Carlos "-Don't worry, I'll scare them off long enough for us to get out of here." He glares out into the darkness and tightens his grip on his sickle.
