The Horatios point in unison. "Gandalon, strike!" The sinewy, shadowy flyer dives towards the frogman in the midst of the Horatios, diving in for a brutal strike!
Attack: 10 Damage: 6 + 14 poison on a DC 11 Con save, half on success.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morn quickly forms an arcane gesture as he mutters "Pruina" and points at the frog to the south as he casts Frostbite (Con Save DC 13 or 3 cold damage and disadvantage on next attack).

Sirq winces as the toad in front of him bites him, but feels bolstered by Trinjya's radiance. He unsheathes his rapier and takes a strike of vengeance at the toad. Afterwards, he looks over to Trinjya and Morn, who both look battered, and he calls out to Morn, "Hang in there, we've almost got them."
((Action: Rapier strike at the toad right next to him. Attack: 21 Damage: 7.))
((Bonus action: Healing Word, Morn regains 6 hit points.))
Gandalon swoops down and buries his stinger in the neck of one of the frog-men, the body dropping to the ground.
Morn tries to chill a frog-man, and it shivers as frost forms on its skin.
Con Save: 7
Sirq gets a lucky lunge and skewers the frogman in front of him through the neck, amphibian blood dripping down the blade as he pulls it free and wheels to Morn, calling out encouragement.
The three remaining frog-men, their ambush having suddenly turned and finding themselves outnumbered, draw back and leap into the water, kicking and swimming away, leaving seven of their dead behind.
"Grib-roak!"
"Roak!"
"Rib!"
Morn:
"Drat, they are too strong for us, despite being gibberish speaking land-walkers!"
"We should warn the King!"
"For the glory of King Clatter, First of His Name, Ruler of the Glorious Swamp!"
((Remaining frogmen are in the water, and have 3/4 to full cover, depending on your positioning.))
Morn watches a moment as the ambushers retreat before turning to Sirq, "Thank you, my friend. I must admit they packed a little more punch than I expected, but it all turned out alright in the end," he chuckles. He moves across to the first frog man to collect his dagger and search the body (Investigation: 8). "I'm not expecting that we'll find much, but let's check them all before we move on."
((Are they disengaging? Trinjya would strike at one of the fleeing creatures if not))
Trinjya will search the body of the frog that fell to her spell. (Investigation 13). She will cast Prestidigitation to cover the smell of the creature with something more pleasant.
"It's a pitty. They probably just recognized toadsi here as one of their own and wanted to have a little chat."
In unison, the three Horatio's sit down at the base of the tree, breathing heavily. "A little soon for puns, don't you think, Trinjya? Besides, one wonders how things might have gone differently if we had had a guide to help us navigate these creatures without need for conflict. We, for one, are not in a very good way." Horatio coughs, and pulls out a splinter left by the crude spear-strike. He wonders what foul disease the creature's toothy maws might carry.
"If we have the strength to carry on, I think we must. We are short on time, and I have a feeling our goal is very near. Besides that, I have a feeling those frog-men will have friends in abundance in these swamps, and will soon return in greater number."
(OOC: I think our options are short rest here, or keep on in hopes of finding out goal. I'm in favor of vacating the area before we stop to try and recover a little.)
Samael looks dispassionately around, and, somewhat abashed, offers apologies to Horatio, saying "our aim was for the three ahead. You were not an intended target.".
Samael, after retrieving his mirror from the sack (and taking the contents therein), returns to looting the three corpses he slew
The Horatios nod and two of them disappear, leaving only the one. "An understandable ploy, and one that perhaps turned the tide. Still, perhaps you shall make it up to me later."
"There is no too soon for a pun. All times are the right time when it comes to that. And the more dire the situation the more welcome is a pun."
Trinjya responds to Horatio without Turning or stoppIng to rummage thru the remains of the frog person she is investigating.
"I agree with you however, we should get out of this place as soon as possible."
Then Trinjya's voice gets more thoughtful
"These creatures seemed to have set up their ambush along Frankie pathway. I don't think that this place is traveled frequently enough to make a living of Robbins people. I doubt that it is a coincidence that we met them her. The probaby spotted Frankie on his way thru the swamp. It's a pitty that we probably won't get the remaining frog creatures to tell us what they know"

Besides his own dagger, Morn finds the crude hide armor, shield and spear the bullywug was carrying. It's doubtful that they are of interest to anyone back in town.
Trinjya finds similar gear, but also a pouch containing a smooth pebble, a dried bit of mushroom, and a snail shell half the size of her palm.
Samael isn't looking where he's going, gets caught on a branch as he's going out to loot the pulp left from his kills, and sits down in the water, getting re-soaked from the chest down. Their gear is in tatters, but he does find, among the viscera of one of the frogs, a small gem that it must have swallowed?
((Samael, you can give me an INT check to appraise its value, if you'd like.))
Horatio begins to curse violently, standing up and leaning against the tree.
"I've had word from... my friend you all saw in the battle. The Bullywugs have a village, a few minutes to the east. There are just over a dozen more warriors like these, two dozen servants, and... a King. Larger, wearing armor, and wielding a magical mace. They have a human prisoner. Might be our man."

(still keeping it. it could be enchantable.)
