"I understand. Though, there is nothing for me to return to on earth at this point. I was dying of old age when I became sick, so at first I thought this was the afterlife -- could still be, I suppose, but nothing I have ever read about. I am a physician, not a theologian, so this is all new terrirory for me," relates the young healer, moving to explore the cave as well.

"This is a summoning circle. It is employed in a ritual which draws creatures - people, in this case - from one place to another. Apparently, someone wanted us here. But, again, where is the summoner? Did something happen to make them leave after completing the ritual..? I have no idea how it works or what the ritual entails, though. Maybe someday I could learn it..." He wanted to know more, to have more power. Ritual magic, of all applications of power, attracted him. He made a note to ask his patron.
So if someone wanted us here, what for? Do you have any capabilites and skills that might be usefull to someone that can pull people from other places?
Morgan / Cillian: There doesn't seem to be any tracks or anything else of note in the cave, however Morgan, you notice the candles that are scattered around the outside of the circle seem to be cold as if they haven't been lit anytime recently.
Leareth / Galeryn: The circle just seems to be a regular run of the mill summoning circle, there doesn't seem to be anything special about it.
Cillian: There isn't much around the cave to be further inspected. The end of the cave results in nothing but cold cave walls. As you head toward the entrance and look out, you see far out in the distance a far town. Small lights can be seen coming from it.
"Well, I don't understand it, but there's nothing left back there for me," Galeryn says as he walks toward the cave entrance where Cillian stands. He sees the lights in the distance and looks around outside before nodding toward what seems to be a town. "Who's up for a walk?"

As the dark elf walks past Damien on his way to mouth of the cave, he hears his question and gives a quick answer as he passes by,
"All I'm good at is looking good and playing beautiful music, I don't know about the rest of you."
Cillian approaches the edge, not finding clues but feeling himself drawn towards the moonlight shining through. It felt as if the moon itself was singing, serenading him in recognition as an equal of unparalleled beauty. His moves his hand through moonlight with a pearly white smile on his face, the world almost deafened to him as he takes in his flawless skin in the shining silver of night. However he manages to shake himself out of his stupor as he looks up and catches the faint lights far ahead. Signs of civilization. People. An almost predatory smile appears on the handsome elf's face as he rubs his hands slightly in excitement before turning back to his fellow summoned companions. He calls out to them with an upbeat tone,
"Oi! I dunno about you lot but I'm not tryin' to stay comfortable in the dark, damp cave holding the demonic pentagram that summoned us! I see the lights of a town up ahead, might be a bit of a trek but better then stayin' here. And I hope not to travel alone in what I think might be Hell. Thoughts?"
He will then lean against the cave wall near the exit, waiting for any of his companions to share their thoughts or join him in leaving this cave. As he does this he will keep the Dancing Lights deeper in the cave so that their purple light doesn't leak out the entrance. He will attempt to stay stealthy so any figure watching the cave as he might guess doesn't notice him, while also trying to keep an eye out for anyone watching for their exit or attempting to ambush them. Cillian is very paranoid, after all you don't live as long as he has doing what he's done without a healthy pinch of obsessive paranoia.
Leareth followed suit, his light crossbow at the ready and trying hard to be silent and unseen. There was no way of knowing what sort of creatures and people lived here, what powers they had. Until he could get a better sense of where they fit in the power structure - and until he could get more power - it seemed obviously a good idea to be cautious.

Morgan:
"Let's go," replies Morgan simply, moving out of the cave and heading towards the town lights with the others, though the soft chiming of his armor makes moving silently very difficult. Instead, he focuses more on looking for threats in this unknown land.

Your group walks through the grasslands leading to the town. The air is cool, but not freezing, a light breeze brings the smell of an ocean to you. About 10 minutes into your walk, a fox runs past you, chasing a rabbit, about 20 minutes after that, the sound of an owl off in the distance can be heard. With each passing moment, the lights get a little larger, eventually turning into flickering lights, as if they were candles, not like the street lamps and light bulbs you were used to seeing.
Nestled in the rocky foothills of the snow-capped mountains is a small town mining town of Phandalin, which consists of forty or fifty, not large sky scrappers or modern homes, but simple log buildings. Crumbling stone ruins surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in years past. As you get closer to the town, there doesn't seem to be a lot of noise coming from the inside of it. Some houses appear dark with a few scattered houses with some lights inside.
((You won't know the name of the buildings, but here is a map of the town.))
”Given our lack of electronics and town’s flame-based lights ahead, we appear to be in a low technology region,” observes Morgan, looking a bit worried—perhaps about how he might help unhealthy people without so many modern medical advances.

Traveling through the forest, he looked around and remarked. "I guess we could live off the land here, worst come to worst. But I don't want to do that, I'm a lousy cook and never hunted my own food before. How about you guys...? I guess we'll have to find some sort of work to do in this town. Hopefully they'll talk first instead of just attacking us. The town looks like it has seen better days."

Cillian’s lip almost curls in disgust upon seeing the small, humble mining town. The simplicity and rustic nature of it reminds him of his upbringing in Liverpool, of his horribly average childhood. A thought flashes through his mind as he attempts to see the silver lining, and how he might be able to take advantage of it all.
“Of course I’m reborn as perfection and am immediately faced with this poor lot. Guess all legends have to start somewhere I suppose.”
He then begins to look around, mostly for the most concentrated area of people to help show him the highlights of each part of town. Basically trying learn about the town itself through studying the people.

As he does this he will reply Laereth saying this in a slightly distracted voice,
“I’m no hunter, but I do make friends very easily I like to think. And I’m quite curious to learn of where we are, and what these changes to us could mean. Like are we the only people capable of such magics? Is it outlawed? Or what we even physically are now.”
He finished, pointing between himself and the half-elf. He continues as he sinks both of his hands into his pockets, trying to act inconspicuously as they walk through this foreign town.
“There’s a lot of questions that we need answered at the moment, and from my experience you don’t get answers without asking questions. With all hinky dory towns like this, there at least have to be bars right?”
As he says this Cillian’s thinks,
“How else would they deal with such morbid, ugly lives?”
He continues saying,
”We could make some plastered “friends” at the bar, act like innocent but curious tourists, and then just soak ‘em for info!”
A tiny smile on his handsome elven face as he thinks to himself with slight amusement and confidence in his plan,
”After-all I’d bet that even this world has stupid people that just want to be told what they want to hear, it’s just a part of life.”
"I did a fair amount of hunting back... then...?" Galeryn says questioningly still not understanding what is happening here. Then he glances down at his hands, each holding a scimitar. "But my tools were a bit different," he added with a slight grin. He looked down into the village, hoping something here would tell them where or when they were. But so far, it was a good change. He took in a deep breath. "Agreed, some conversations from the locals could prove helpful. And maybe we could find a bed and a warm meal and save that hunting for another day."

As you all walk around this dimly lit town, a couple buildings stand out from the rest, worn down plaques hanging above the doors read the names of them.
A slightly worn down 2-story building has a sign outside that reads "Stonehill Inn".
A building that resembles that of a general store, the plaque above the store reads "Barthen's Provisions".
The more wellkept building in the town has hanging above the front door, a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it.
A moderately sized hut has a sign that has engraved on it, two pick-axes crisscrossing.
A tall building, of which resembles a church in a sense you can see peaking over some of the other buildings.
A building with stone walls, a pitched wooden roof and a bell tower also catches your eye as it doesn't look like the rest of the buildings. Outside this building is a board with some pieces of parchment attached to it.
As you keep an eye out of people, you don't really see a lot, just an occasional bystander coming and going from buildings off in the distance.
"Well, it's evening and the place labeled 'Stonehall Inn' looks like a promising place to find rooms, if not food and information. Shall we head that way?" suggests Morgan.
