Loren stretches out on one of the beds, eating a little of the seedcake he had brought with him from earlier and gingerly caring for his bruised arms and legs.
If I understand correctly, this room is a dead end, so Velshir will head back to the cistern and see if it's reasonable to retrieve the item he saw down in the water. If it appears reasonable, he will do so.
(inquiring as to preference of the group - Do you prefer magical or valuable items be defined (value or properties)upon discovery or left mysterious for your investigative reviews. Like a gem worth 100 g or a sword that is +1, etc. Do you all prefer "You've discovered a Garnet or you've found a garnet worth 10 g)
In the water about even with the floor is a small satchel. It’s two feet below the surface. How do you access it? The top of the cistern is 2 feet above the floor and extends some distance below
This is the room. The satchel is suspended from a hook two feet below the ridge on the south, internal, side about midway along the side of the cistern.
Description of the room again if helpful (spoiler to save room)
- Another door opens up onto a five-foot-wide landing fifteen feet above a large cellar, with stone steps ascending up to it in two short flights. This door opens beneath the stairs from the north. A large stone cistern occupies the western part of the room, whose walls are lined with kegs and barrels. The door you came through opens easily when unlatched and unlike the previous area, this area seems as though it is used frequently.
(I personally would only like to know the value of things if it makes sense that my character would know, like if the garnet was a spell component I would be familiar with how much they would be worth cause I had to buy them. Other than that I prefer a bit of mystery)
OOC: I think if it's common or item of monetary value sure let us know in GP. If it's a magic item the may require detect magic or identify or such then just saying its a mysterious sword or such works until we figure it out.
The satchel hidden in the cistern is waterproof and contains two vials of liquid (they look different from each other), 50 gp, and a clean set of ordinary travel clothing.
Joshua would like to take a few minutes to ritual cast Detect Magic then take a look around the room to see if there is anything in here that gives off a glow
(correction Joshua doesnt have the ablitily to ritual cast so just casting)
both vials that Velshir has retrieved from the Satchel glow, one of Evocation and one of Illusion. Nothing else glows except the sword that was collected earlier in the Cavern (I don't recall who has it). I assumed you were moving around a little as it lasts 10 minutes with concentration.
@Sheyla -pillaged supplies are stored here from various robbed caravans and travelers over a fairly long period of time it appears.
There also appears to be a door hidden in the lower block of the west wall.
"Those vials are def magic of some sort. I can't tell exactly what they are only that they are magic. I wouldn't recommend trying them till we can figure out exactly what they do"
@velshir - your arcana knowledge is not helpful and a small taste will not show any apparent affect. (you don't get ill, etc). You do notice that the Satchel is definitely waterproof as the contents of the bag are not wet at all, this is not a magical effect - only how it seals and the exterior doesn't appear to absorb water at all, just runs off. (clarification - I know some rules says that a taste of a potion can identify it but personally I don't think that should be true. Different alchemists may make them differently, different colors, etc. So even if you HAD used one before it may not be the same. I did give them a 10% chance of having any effect on you due to the 'taste', so if anything happened, it will be for you to discover - possibly - later.)
If anyone else would like to examine with an arcana check roll separately.
@velshir - roll your hit dice to recovery. Up to two until next long rest.

Velshir feels much refreshed after a little meditation.
"Thank you for your patience."
(Anyone else want to roll up to 2 hit die to recover? )
Sheyla will eat three berries during the short rest. She will be back to full.
6 berries left

your rest period passes undisturbed.
Velshir is on his feet and ready to continue.
"Alright, now where were we?"

If I’m being honest I like the vagueness, though I may say if something obviously appears to be magical on nature.
Velshir will simply lean over into the cistern and reach down to grab the thing, even dunking his head in if needed to reach.
The satchel hidden in the cistern is waterproof and contains two vials of liquid (they look different from each other), 50 gp, and a clean set of ordinary travel clothing.
Can Velshir examine or perhaps even taste the liquids to try to discern their nature?

Sheyla will fret in the corner, her eyes darting to the exits watching for trouble.
@velshir arcana check please.
