Kilmus continues to hold his position at the rear of the party. Hearing the Kobolds scream, he pushes forward only to find both of them dead at the hands of the handy ranger.

Phineas cautions, "Kobolds be like fleas. Where there be one, there be a bunch. Be expecting traps and trouble." The halfling begins moving down the path the kobold was fleeing.

Mica bundles up his maladied arm, attempting to avoid the kobold corpses. He has one skull, and it should be enough. Out of sheer curiosity, he wonders if the floating brain creature had a skull - Mica and his rogue arm were united with the thought of poking around the corpse, seeing anything that could provide a way of channeling his patron's power more efficiently. Alas, that was for another time, and he follows Phineas down the passage, wincing at the noise the usually sneaky Ranger was creating.
Rak would move into the now kobold-less room. He would make his way to the table and check the kobold for anything of value before checking the second one as well. "Nice work phin, I mean... you almost let this one get away... so not a great job but a good one." The gith says with a grin.
M10 - The tunnel’s downward slope ends where it opens onto the center shaft. A wooden walkway extends from this opening and then runs westward to another tunnel in the rock. In front of you, a large bucket like the one you saw earlier dangles from a taut rope that stretches southward across the shaft and is connected to another wooden platform 15 feet away.
"I don't like the look of that" Rak says as they make their way deeper into the cave. He would look down in the deep hole before looking back towards his companions. "I think we getter make sure this side of the pit is clear before we try to cross..." He would suggest to the group.
M11 - Lurking in this dusty tunnel are four skittish kobolds. One of them carries a threadbare satchel and wears a fake pair of dragon wings made of thin wood and tattered white cloth. This kobold immediately raises its hands in surrender, saying in Common, “We mean you no harm! Please don’t hurt us!”

Mica steps forward, still holding the obviously gleaming Kobold skull in one hand, and transfers his still-running Hex onto the more ornate-looking Kobold, giving him disadvantage on Charisma checks (affects Deception, should make Insight checks have a better time), both as a means of communication and as a means of preparation for combat. He then strings together a few words from various different tongues, imploring the Kobold to answer several questions:
“Why are you here, and how did you get here?”
“Why should we not kill you right here for infiltrating the mine? I’m very good at killing Kobolds, you know.”
“Why were your associates dismantling the wooden suspensions that structure the cave?
“What was that thing that we killed earlier?”

Rak would stand behind Mica, His eyes glowing green. "Answer the bird!" He exclaims in a loud boming voice ad the gith uses thermotergy to boost the sound of his voice...
“Alright. No need for violence. The everlasting winter has made the wilderness unsafe for my kind, and the preternatural cold dulls our wits. Please, we only want a place to stay so we can keep out of this horrible weather. We can work, and we won’t cause trouble. The other kobolds were probably removing unwanted bridges here. For protection. Termalaine would be richer for having us. I am unsure of what thing you are referring to."
"for protection against anyone that wasn't a kobold?" Rak replies with a frown as his hand tightens on his sword.. "It looked like they were making a trap."
Kilmus steps forward, holding his empty hand out in front of him. 'No violence, not unless you or your ilk provoke it. But you have shut down this mine by driving out the workers, that can not stand.'
"We are simply looking for a way to protect ourselves, and find a new home. We would welcome any suggestions you might have, and wish to cause no more trouble."
Phineas keeps an arrow nocked, eyeing the kobolds with warily. "It's closing time, lads," he mutters. "I don't care where you go, but you can't stay here."

"We don't know what's across the pit. We have been too scared to cross it with the rope attached. We shall leave and find another home, should you let us pass, and live."
Phineas looks to the others and nods. "T'would be best you did, lads," he says. "We could not guarantee your safety once the miners return. Are there more of ya?"

"What if they leave only to come back once were gone... Then we'd look like liars. Telling them we cleared it out when it is still full of kobolds." Rak would reply looking from the kobolds to his companions. "How can we be sure they won't come right back once we're gone?"

Kilmus looks across the pit, and then down into the depths.
"I agree, I don't much like the look of that contraption, let's pus through and see if there's another way down. '
Phineas shrugs and leads the group along the edge toward M11.
