Sildar seems lost in thought, as if trying to piece a puzzle together. With that being said, you guys can explore another part of town, or take on another quest. Keep in mind Gundren is still a captive at Cragmaw Castle, and doing side quests will offer XP. Hope you all had a good holiday! Onward with the story, lets go go go!! =P
PLACES TO GO SEE:
Stonehill Inn (Inn), Barthen's Provisions (Trading Post), Edermath Orchard (A home), Lionshield Coster (Weapon/Armor Merchant), Phandalin Miner's Exchange (Trading Post), Alderleaf Farm (A home), The Sleeping Giant (Inn), Shrine of Luck (Temple), Tresendar Manor (Redbrand Hideout).
CURRENT QUESTS: Finding Iarno, Orc Trouble, Finding Cragmaw Castle, and Agatha.
Hardi will leave Sildar to his thoughts for the moment, and turn back to the group. "I think we better nip this Redbrand problem in the bud, eh? Who's up for a trip to this uh...Transcendent Manor? Whattaya say, fellas?"
"You know I'm down. You feeling alright, though? You seemed to have had a little break down out there" Coryn asked Hardi, looking the Human up and down. He had seen his freak out prior, and was a little surprised. Before that, the Cleric had seemed fairly well composed in the face of battle.
"Right as rain, Coryn! Dontcha worry about Ol'Hardi here. I just had a little readjustment is all, ya know? Besides, we got bigger fish to fry, eh?" The Cleric will give Coryn a thumbs up along with a reassuring smile. "So uh, are we headin' straight to that uh..what's it called? Trashcan Manor, eh?"
The Redbrands hideout is at Tresendar Manor, which lies in mostly ruins now, at the edge of Phandalin town. The manor grounds are deserted, but there are plenty tracks leading to a stone staircase just off the empty ruin of a large kitchen outside. At the bottom of the stairs stands an unlocked door with a cellar beyond - the main entrance to the hideout proper.
The door opens onto a five-foot-wide landing fifteen feet above a large cellar, which stone steps descending to the floor in two short flights. Another door stands beneath the stairs to the north. A large stone cistern occupies the western part of the room, who's walls are lined with kegs and barrels.
WHAT YOU SEE
-This room appears to be a large storage cellar, exactly what one would expect to find under an old manor.
-There is a cistern on one of the walls, containing a fresh, running, water supply. You can see drain pipes from the roof of the old manor above that's filling it.
- The only exit you can see is a door on the west wall.
As the group enters the hideout, Coryn tries to stick near Cedrik. The Gnome had already taken a few rough hits since he met him, and he thought it was best for someone to keep him safe.
"Hmmm. I'd be careful. You never know what underhanded stuff these guys might have laying around." The Half-Elf stated, his eyes scanning the room to see if any traps were present.
Hardi will stick to the front. As for the lighting situation, he'll slap Light onto the head of his Maul, causing it to blaze with bright light out to 20ft and dim light 20ft further.
((OOG I'm still here... sorry I didn't post all weekend, but holidays can be a busy time for us lol Also, Assassin's Creed Origins kind of took up all my free time...lol))
"Hmm, I wonder what supplies these barrels and kegs hold?" Brugo will wonder to himself as he investigates them.
"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."
Serandis Mendaen (Aereni Elven Rogue/maybe one day Wizard)- Project Point Playtest
Hardi will march down the stairs. If anyone points out the secret door. "Well whattaya know! A secret door!" He'll move toward it. "I think secrets are pretty exciting, eh?"
"Hey guys, looks like we have an extra way in. Higher odds of us getting the sneak on them if we go through it." He stated, pointed his sword at the secret entrance.
Klarg, some nasty hobgoblin who controls the goblins in this cave, ambushed us. I heard from the goblins that some fellow named the Black Spider gave them orders to do so. They left me here, but took Gundren to some place called Cragmaw Castle to be interrogated by the Chief of the Cragmaws. I have no idea who the Black Spider is, but he or she seems to be running this whole operation.
OOC: Was the time spent interrogating long enough to take a short rest?
"This Black Spider guy seems to have a lot of connections. This Wave Echo cave must be pretty important. If we can, let's try to get Glasstaff to tell us more."
The secret door is made of stone and swing open from rear iron hinges, its not locked. Its opens to reveal an additional new area to explore.
CREVASSE
You walk through the door, down a short passage, and you enter a large natural cavern, carrying with it the faint scent of decaying flesh. A large crevasse divides the cavern and is flanked by two rough stone columns that support the 20 feet high ceiling. Two arched wooden bridges span the chasm.
- The crevasse is 5 to 10 feet wide and about 20 feet deep. You will take damage if you fall in.
- The two bridges that cross the crevasse are made of wooden planks and have no rails.
- This whole area has three passages out. One north (where you dont need to cross the crevasse), and two west passages that you can access by the bridges.
From this point, you can cross the crevasse, or head back to the cellar from where you came.
This cavern makes you feel very strange, as if a sense of dread is approaching.
Hardi, being burdened by this overarching feeling of dread and the pervading stench of rot, will peer around to see what he can see. "Is something out there?" He will just sort of mumble into the ether.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Using one hit die 2, arcane recovery, and casting alarm as a ritual four times to get Cedrik's arcane ward back up. Alarm set to notify him if anyone goes into or leaves the cell with the Redbrand.
"Hey Coryn, thanks for sticking with me." Feeling the ill effects from the room, Cedrik whispers, "I don't like this place. And what is that smell? Hardi, do you see anything?"
Hardi, something odd happens to you. You stand still for a moment because something is "communicating" with you telepathically. It doesn't make much sense, but some THING is muttering to you mentally, its ravings sound mad, gibberish, mixed in with a sense of hunger, as in food.
Hardi looks around, trying to find the source. That's when he realizes it isn't any physical speech. This thing is in his head! "Something is definitely watching us, fellas...and it's hungry...and possibly insane" He will ready his Maul, gripping it tight.
OOC: Would Hardi have any chance on knowing what creature may be able to do this sort of thing?

I agree, lets get rid of this problem before finding another one.

Haha Trashcan Manor, love it.
Ok, details coming as soon as I get to work.
TRESENDAR MANOR
The Redbrands hideout is at Tresendar Manor, which lies in mostly ruins now, at the edge of Phandalin town. The manor grounds are deserted, but there are plenty tracks leading to a stone staircase just off the empty ruin of a large kitchen outside. OOC: What's the lighting situation like?
Hardi will stick to the front. As for the lighting situation, he'll slap Light onto the head of his Maul, causing it to blaze with bright light out to 20ft and dim light 20ft further.
There are torches placed in enough places that the whole area is nicely lit.
Coryn, you find a poorly made secret door leading to another room, in addition to the obvious door leading to the storage room.
So, you can basically go back outside, into the storage room, or open the secret door from this point.

For now, nothing is noticable to you guys.
It's quiet. Too quiet.
