OOC: Given the player situation I think it makes sense for Leon and Baltimore to have one room and Aelar, Hyre and Lazlo the other, with Kallista all by her lonesome.

ooc: yes that makes sense.
"I was planning on trying to get Edna to show me some tricks with a sword, or the bow I made- Better to know how to use them and not need to I guess... BUT I want to talk with Sir Geoffrey as well. If I can fit both in, I will- if not then I'll come with you to see the Knight." Lazlo says to Hyre. Then, looking over to Hana "I'll serve tables, clean plates, work behind the bar, or in the kitchen. The Old Man used to do something with a chicken... he called it 'spatchcocking'. It sounds like pillow talk but really it's just a way to cook the chicken... Not at all like tallywacking!" He jokes, chuckling.

"Well then, if you're going to Edna it'll take you your morning, right? Be back early enough so we can leave though. If you take too long, I'll leave without you, however, because I have several things I need to do there." He then turns to Hana. "Could I try working for you tomorrow? It seems like I will have about the first half of the day free to do so. I'm not sure if I'll be the best help you can find, but I can at least try. I'm not very good with people, so maybe not a waiter, but I'm a fast learner so maybe I can cook, if you can teach me."
Varielky
"That could work," Aelar says. "But I'm trying tomorrow, regardless, after the farm, so I won't be going with you tomorrow, Hyre. Probably day after. And I think I'll keep working at the farm. I like the way it works my body."
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Hana considers Hyre's request for a moment, then shrugs.
"I can give y'all a try. I mean, normally we don't have men folk working the tables regardless, and y'all ain' old enough to be tending the bar, so it's either kitchen work or stocking the cellar. For all I know you could be a natural." she says, then catches the name 'Geoffrey' several times from Aelar and Hyre.
"Wait, did you say SIR? And Geoffrey? As in, a knight? A grumpy old knight with one arm?" she asks.
The main meal hasn't arrived yet but there's a plate of appetizers that Kallista can dig into. All wonderfully fried and greasy finger food, just what she needs after expending so much energy for the day. She'll have plenty of room for the main meal. The cider is brought to the table while the group wait for the main course, served nice and warm.
Due to the grand performance lead by Lazlo, the tips collected alone are enough to pay for the meal.
Leon mentions to Aelar says that if the lady from the other day comes to find him at the smithy, he'll head to the farm to collect Aelar since he'll have a name to give him that he can use for a fake destination.
(Also, no response from my DM to Balgrim. I have no idea what's happened to him. If I don't hear from him within the next couple days, just play it like Balgrim is living and working full time with the Hearth.)

Once Kallista's eaten a bit, she finally tells the group what she and Grimbuld did that day.

"I probably couldn't describe him any better. I take it that you know him?" Thinking about it, it wouldn't be weird for a knight to come to this place. If so, why shouldn't Geoffrey do so? He picks an appetizer from the plate - he's not especially hungry since he ate with Geoffrey not long ago, but he wants to at least get a taste of the food - but then he remembers that it's not polite to eat while speaking to another, so he's just holding it in his hand.

Lazlo is clearly impressed by Kallista's story. "Kallista, high flyer, wind rider, trolls bane... raining down arrows from the heavens! You see- she's already performing deeds that will be writ large in the book of heroes. Cheers to Kallista." he says, raising his glass.

"Wow, Kallista! You did a lot more than help. That's awesome. What did the trolls smell like?" It feels like an odd question but it was the first thing he thought of.
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Kallista clearly get embarrased by Lazlo's praise, "Please don't. Things could have gone terribly if I didn't do things the way Mr. Grimbuld told me. And he could have died..." she trails off, "I would have if he wasnt there too. I was so nervous the whole time."
"Umm..." she thinks for a moment, "ya, they did."

"Just be careful. No amount of money is worth it if you're not alive to use it. Hunger kills slower, I'm sure. None the less, rather magnificent, the things you can do when you have wings." He imagines himself flying, with a hawk figure beside him. "I wonder if magic could let you fly. A bit arbitrary, perhaps, but kites do it..." he wanders off in thoughts about flying so high above ground that he won't even be able to recognise the people down below. All while still holding the food in his hand, waiting for Hana's response.
(Speaking with more than one character is always a problem... sigh.)

Hana hmphs as Hyre confirms Geoffrey's identity.
"Yeah... I know him. Him and my husband were fast friends in the old knight's garrison." she says, gesturing to the frame on the wall. Separate from the others is a full sword hanging. Little doubt whose it is given its place of honour. There's also a portrait close by... done in the same style as Geoffrey's. Hana's husband was apparently human.
"He stopped visiting after my Brian died. I think he still feels responsible. It was the same day he lost his arm." she says. "When y'all see that old coot, tell him he's missed... and more than welcome. It's not good for him to stay cooped up in that farm house all alone." she says.
Leon looks confused as to why Kallista and Grimbuld needed to hunt trolls if they were making healing salves. As Kallista tells more of the story, he looks repulsed.
"Oh, gross... I mean, it makes sense, but it's still gross." he says, making a face. "But if that's what it takes to make them, no wonder they're so expensive... heh, if we ever come across any sleeping trolls, we know how to make a lot of money, at least."
Before long the actual meal is brought to the table. Leon is quite hungry himself after exhausting himself at the forge, he digs in with gusto.
"If y'all want to freshen up after eatin', there's a his n' hers bath chamber upstairs. That was a PAIN to get set up, let me tell you, I owe a LOT of dwarves favors now, but we have fancy running water, cold AND hot. Even drains! No more chamberpots for us, we're a right respectable establishment now. What spellcraftin' can't do, right?" Hana says as she goes back to the task of running her saloon. "Come see me again when you want to settle your rooms."
DM, professional illustrator and comic artist, suffering from severe spinal stenosis, married, middle aged, and nerdy.
"I'll tell him, no problem." Finally, he eats the food he was holding.
"Huh, didn't even think to consider the connection between trolls and the healing salves. Hopefully, I'll never need to use one on myself." He thinks about it for a moment, "Actually, that was true even before I knew how it's made."
(In case I misunderstood and the bath chambers don't actually include a shower/bathtub/smth similar and only contain a toilet - ignore the next part. Though, why would a toilet have hot waters running?)
After everyone are done eating, Hyre will get up and ask: "Well, I haven't got cleaned since - I'm not even sure, actually, it was still back in Hon though. I think a bath would be nice. I'm actually surprised no one had something to say about how I smell yet. See you in a bit!" He then goes upstairs to test the bath chambers.

((She was referring to the fact they have drains as well as running water. AKA, Guiston has a sewer system. Medieval towns had them too, but they weren't yet underground. Rather than be engineered, it's just another way that magic is used in a utilitarian way rather than a purely fantastical.))
There's just one bathroom for men and one for women, but there's actually two stalls that have primitive looking but still functional toilets, a large barrel-style bath tub for multiple bathers and two showers, though they're little more than a spigot that's hanging out of the ceiling. There are little signs next to the cold and hot water levers. The floor beneath the shower stalls has an ornately carved copper plate, the drain looking like the mouth of a fish. From Hyre's studies, he can surmise that the copper plate is some kind of spellcraft structure that channels the water out of the building somehow, rather than relying on plumbing that would have required the saloon be closed for weeks for renovation and probably cost a fortune.
The bath tub has a copper fish's head with a single lever coming out. Seems you just pull it to fill it with water at a fixed temperature.

Hyre checks that no one's around then gets undressed and gets into the barrel-tub. He pulls the lever and sees allows the spellcrafts do the rest. Really, he noticed he was smelling even worse than Lazlo today. Quite a remarkable feat, but not one to be proud of.

Lazlo watches his good friend Hyre walk off "whoah- thank the gods. I thought he'd never bathe..." he says to himself. Then for absolutely NO reason he sniffs himself. "Yes, pretty ok- that slime does the trick..."
Fleabag Fleabane -Tabaxi Ranger | Lenny Coggins- Halfling Barbarian | Sid Shatterbuckle- Dwarf Fighter/Rogue| Lazlo - Satyr Bard in Training
Aelar nods agreement with Lazlo. "Still, it'll be nice to bathe!"
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Carmine leans in and sniffs at Lazlo's neck. She then bites him right by his pointed ear, a teasing little nibble that sends goosebumps up and down his back.
"Oh, I'm sorry love, you smelled so nice, I thought you were part of the dish." she grins. Her brothers make faces like they're about to be sick.
"Well, there goes our appetite." Carmen jokes, though the satyrs seem to be more intent on spending the money they just made on drinks.
The entirety of the group, shortly after Hyre experiences the joys of indoor plumbing, hear a harsh clanging. They know it well. It's the alarm sounding of a beast raid. Almost all of the colonies have an alarm when the wilds come calling. It's become a part of walled living, that constant peril that everyone has learned to just live with, and it makes everyone pause what they're doing to listen at the barking of the wall's defense cannons firing at will. More musket fire rings out as the wall guards open volleys that sound like the felling of many trees. People wait, still as statues while they listen for the second tolling of the alarm bells.
About a minute passes, and then everyone breathes a sigh of relief as they hear the 'all clear' toll. It's become a standard across the colonies that 5 rings of the bell indicate an alarm of imminent attack. 2 tolls sounds the all clear, when the danger has passed, and a constant ringing indicates that the wall's defenses have been breached.
The complete lack of alarm bells at Hon betray just how swift the attack was; that not a single guard could raise the alarm... little wonder the other colonies are so tense.
DM, professional illustrator and comic artist, suffering from severe spinal stenosis, married, middle aged, and nerdy.
Hyre comes running down, dressed, at least, but still wet. "Caught me totally off guard. It was very relaxing before that, but I couldn't stay there after. Really a shame. It's empty now, if anyone wants to try it. The water a bit too warm but nothing serious. Maybe it's just me. After all, I wasn't at your bath party that evening. Anyway, I think we can sleep on the farm just this one last night and take our rooms here from then on."
Varielky
Aelar goes up after the all clear is sounded. He doesn't take a very long bath but he does enjoy some time soaking, luxuriating in the feel of the water. Ah, Raia, I've missed a nice bath, you know. The water is so relaxing that he reaches out to the dragon without even thinking about it. As soon as he's done it, he cringes, hoping he didn't disturb her again.
