(The party comes to a consensus that following the tracks is the best course of action.
The big, burly Blacksmith breaks down for a moment as he is overcome by hope, but manages to compose himself. He then goes into his sleeping quarters to his dresser and pulls out a small First Aid box with 2 bandages. He gives it to you all.)
"Please, follow the tracks and find my daughter!"
DM's note: If you want to do anything else before leaving please go ahead and post it, otherwise the next post will be the start of your journey. Also, the bandages are a bit of a homebrew (ie not from the PHB) item that, if applied to an unconscious party member, will restore them back to 1 HP. I've got a few small bobbles like that scattered throughout the adventure, so keep your eyes peeled. ;)
DMs Note: Ok guys, as you may know, we had 2 people drop out, Zeph and Trysjyre. I have recruited 2 new players, Anarkist, the Half-Orc Barbarian, and Vendove Withretin, a Half-Elf Bard. We're going to have to do a RetCon, which basically means we all pretend that they've been with us since the beginning. They introduced themselves at the Tavern, they checked out the Blacksmith's shop with you, etc. Thanks and welcome them aboard, please. :)
(The group gets ready and head out into the forest, following the tracks as best they can. Since there's no actual Rangers in the party, it's a little slow going, as you lose the trail a couple of times, only to find it again after a few minutes.
Everyone is moving forward at a good pace for several hours, but it's gotten dark. Those in the party without some sort of darkness vision light torches. Suddenly, A faint rustling noise, then some squealing is heard as a sense of danger fills the air.)
"Brace yourselves everyone!"
(Three boars, 2 regular Boar and one Giant Boar, are rushing at you all full speed. Roll for initiative!)
DM's notes: Make sure to include your Initiative modifiers (Dex Modifier) on the top of your sheet when you roll. This is the first battle and a good chance to test out any of your attacks, spells or skills you may not be too familiar with. Go nuts, as you will have a chance to rest and regain anything you use.
DMs note: Lichlord, it's not your turn yet, so wait for me to give you the go ahead. Also, please use the dice on the top right of the reply box to roll. Try out the dice roller thread to see how to roll, and use the combat tab.
(Eliza's arrow goes zooming a few feet above the Giant Boar's head.)
(Drakis bravely rushes forward and gets close to the Giant Boar, stabbing it right between the shoulder blades! The beast squeals loudly and thrashes about. Blood spurts out as Drakis pulls the Rapier back.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Anarkist proves his Barbarian mettle by using a huge swing of his axe to chop the head of one of the Boars clean off! It's mightily impressive.
The Giant Boar roars and tries to attack Drakis with it's tusks!)
Attack: 18 Damage: 7
(Drakis manages to dive out of the way, narrowly avoiding a very bad injury!)
(The remaining Boar goes after Anarkist!)
Attack: 23 Damage: 10
(Anarkist manages to easily jump over the Boar to keep his distance.)
DMs note: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Hang tight, I'm going to try to get someone to replace Vendove, who apparently lost interest, and they'll go next.
(Dang...)
"What would goblins want with a girl, we should follow these tracks but stay low so we don't run up on a goblin camp"
Drakis
“I agree. We can figure out how to rescue the girl once we get the lay of the land.”
