Chronolo, the ever-quiet Warforged mage, strides into the arena for another bout. Frankly, the maintenance costs resulting from being scraped up and - on some occasions - thrown into walls is irritating, but as of yet, the arena has been only a success on the Warforged's side. Following is the mechanical owl, whirring noisily in the air nearby.
Fenkas steps onto the field with a broad grin on his face. He gives a wink to the serious pirate and warforged before cracking his whip and flipping the hood of his cloak up. The large open fields would make running much more fun. Syldorn is nowhere to be seen, as Fenkas is trying an entirely different strategy regarding his owl this time around. The bladesinger on the other hand keeps his preparation standard. Starting to hum, a song begins around him as he begins to vibrate at a high speed and then slips into the shadows next to the wall.

As the contestants enter the arena, Marmaduke over it again flies to an already excited crowd, and then announces with a booming voice. "Ladies, Gentlemen, and All things inbetween or beyond! Welcome to the Coliseum!" The crowd roar and cheers for a moment. "Now, I hope you're ready for another exciting match, for without further adieu, allow me to introduce your competitors!"`
And whether this one is a happy accident or a contender for the seat of "Time Lord" may perhaps be answered today! Until then, a round of applause for Chronolo!" A warforged in a maroon cowl stands at the ready subsumed in magic of a temporal nature, and bearing an enchanted book. A mechanical appearing owl flutters next to them.
"From the distant seas seeking gold, renown, and new challenges is none other than Darius the Dreaded!" A dark-haired human man wielding a pair of rapier, enchanted boots, and bearing the firm footing of a seaman ready for battle.
"Carrying on the growing tradition of combine blade and elven song in the arena. Or in this case, a WHIP! Is none other than Fenkas the Fantastical!" A half-wood elf man with a whip at his hip and an owl... poorly trying to hide. The bladesinger does the same(but better!) after further enchanting his own speed.
"And finally to help round out this cast of colorful competitors, say hello... the Ranger, Myrna!" A long haired dark skinned woman bearing an almost permanent scowl on her face and a number of basic enchanted items, including an adamantine half-plate. Almost as soon as she makes her appearance though, she is trying to obscure her position in the gloom.

Sensing the match begin, Chronolo's myriad images stride in unison over the packed dirt, coming to a rest shortly after stepping behind available cover.
Well-aware of the danger of being caught unawares, Chronolo's mechanical owl throws a look which could be possibly considered contemplative (had the creature not been construed of clockwork mechanisms held together by magical threads) towards Syldorn - and, with the guidance of Chronolo, fades from sight.
Action: Guidance on Chronolo's owl. Movement: towards M2.
Owl Action: hide - 11 Owl Movement: towards the brush of the southmost tree (L7, I believe).
Fenkas sees the world go into slow motion as he starts vibrating at a very high speed. The half-elf grins evilly as he knows that neither of his opponents has magical capabilities. Without the risk of someone trying to dispel his magic like they did last time, Fenkas can use his full speed instead of having to sneak around. Leaping forward, the half-elf darts over a few walls and around a boulder, before climbing up onto the enemy's wall and declaring, "I am Fenkas the Fantastical!" He raises his hands fantastically and then points his silver wand at Darius, "And you need to die!" 8 magical darts fly out of the wand and strike Darius as the blade singer flips backwards off of the wall and trots (but appears like sprinting) back to a little bit of cover behind a boulder on the other side of the field. Safely protected from his opponents, Fenkas calls out to his ally, "Hey buddy! You might want to get a move on. Otherwise, the fight will be over by the time you're getting started." Meanwhile, Syldorn again attempts to hide before flying up and around unnoticed.
Chronolotakes a page out of Fenkas book, but would further enhances their drone's abilities to improve their odds. So it was that with nary a hum of machinery to mark its passing, that at least one familiar is able to slip out of sight unheard. Meanwhile, the master advanced further, if only just, but retained some heavy measure of cover.
Fenkas again demonstrates the meaning of speed by making absolutely excellent time across the overlarge field, and following some taunting, whipped out a wand to blasting Darius a great deal, before zipping away again behind some boulders. But while he called out to Syldorn to adjust his tactics, and indeed the owl had managed a fair bit better, the sharp eared ranger could hear and notate his position well enough to signal its coordinates to a recovering Darius.
Darius' eyes widened as Fenkas suddenly appeared atop the wall, fired some magical force, and did a backflip out of view. "Why that little..." he thought with irritation as he quickly gripped his wounded chest and leaned to listen through the doorway. Ah. The singing elf (half-elf? meh, whatever,) might have been fast, but quiet and stealthy, apparently he was not.
The pirate bolted onto the field and around the corner of a low wall, before making a beeline right toward Fenka's location. Rather than skidding, he let the magical force from his boots arrest his momentum as he suddenly turned, leaned, and stopped in mid-air a few inches above he ground. Right next to his opponent.
A malevolent grin crossed his face as Darius felt a surge of energy and began lashing out gleefully at the mage.
(( Darius' will add the Trip Attack maneuver to each hit, and each time Fenkas will need to make a DC 16 STR save to avoid being knocked prone. ))
MOVE: F16 -> G15 -> H15 -> I15 -> J15 ->> K14 (30 ft.) ACTION:Dash - K14 -> K13 -> K12 -> K11 -> K10 -> K9 (25 ft.) If Fenkas allows an Opportunity Attack, Darius will do so using Trip Attack again. If Fenkas makes a melee attack and misses, Darius will use Riposte to counterattack. If another opponent comes into melee, Darius will use Brace to immediately attack him. Whichever comes first, he spends his reaction on; all can use the same roll:
Fenkas easily dodges the first strike, but the second attack catches him unawares and the half-elf feels the sharp rapier jabbing into his side. He lets out a groan as the force of the blow flips him onto his back and he rolls to avoid the final strike. Through all of this rolling and tumbling, he manages to maintain his concentration on the vibrations moving through his body. As he looks up at Darius he thinks to himself, 'At least it'll be harder for the archer to hit me now.'

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Darius wastes 0 time and immediately makes a beeline for Fenkas position, aiming to pay back the assault in kind. And with a bit of aid from magical boots, he makes good time! Fenkas quickly dodges the first blade, but is overpowered by the follow-up and hits the ground hard.
Myrna calls upon the wind to join her in the fight, before scaling the wall like a monkey. The smaller wall proves more an obstacle, but only slows her down so much. Wasting no time, she again beseeches the wind to help guide her first shot, missing yet still, but undaunted the wind gathers about, further enhancing her speed. She races to the other side of fenkas, crossbow quickly loaded and aimed down at him. "Again." She states flatly, firing once more, and catching him too should he fail to shield himself. If so, she rushes away on the last dregs of her spell.

Fenkas throws up a magical barrier at the last second, after rolling to avoid Myrna's first shot, and manages to deflect the second attack. "Well friends, it really has been wonderful. But I must get going. I believe I have a friend waiting on me. You have been most kind in gathering together to make this as efficient as possible." With that, Fenkas launches himself up off the ground and in a blur of movement sprints away too fast for either Darius or Myrna to have a chance to react. Once he is a safe distance away, he points his finger at the pair and sending a single bead of red energy in their direction. As soon as it reaches Fenkas's old location, the bead blossoms into full flames and engulfs both fighters in the fire. After that, Syldorn flies over to the opponents and begins harassing Darius in case Chronolo decides to attack the pirate.

Reaction: Cast Shield (Causes Myrna's second attack to miss)

Sensing the match begin, Chronolo's myriad images stride in unison over the packed dirt, coming to a rest shortly after stepping behind available cover.
Well-aware of the danger of being caught unawares, Chronolo's mechanical owl throws a look which could be possibly considered contemplative (had the creature not been construed of clockwork mechanisms held together by magical threads) towards Syldorn - and, with the guidance of Chronolo, fades from sight.
Action: Guidance on Chronolo's owl.
Movement: towards M2.
Owl Action: hide - 11
Owl Movement: towards the brush of the southmost tree (L7, I believe).

Chronolo takes a page out of Fenkas book, but would further enhances their drone's abilities to improve their odds.

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
(OOC: WOW! That was very close.)
