(( If everyone is settling down to rest, then Talion does not proceed...come to thunk of it, having a rest was a condition on him taking lead...he rests ))
This room contains a large wood-framed bed with a rotted feather mattress, a wardrobe containing several old robes, a pair of iron candlesticks, and an open crate containing thirty torches and a leather sack with fifteen candles inside it. At the foot of the bed is a wooden footlocker. The chanting and drumming fades away to a dull cadence....
Erven comes into the room where the mimic body is, curls up beside Lucky Bear and takes a short rest. “I don’t trust that other room yet, we need to investigate it soon.” He rests and meditates, trying to recover from his injuries.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Sho moved slowly to take a seat at the table, the gentle sounds of the chair dragging on the floor echoing like a distant cry. He pauses for a moment, before pulling out his amulet. He clutched the amulet in his hand, careful not to let it touch the dusty surface of the table. The unmoving skeletal hand, warmed by his body heat, reflected a gleaming silver light. He remains silent, his face pale, the blue-and-black dark circles under his eyes more pronounced more pronounced.
“You don’t need to lead.” He says to Talion after a while, his voice still low and hoarse. But quiet, seeing Erven is sleeping. “I will. There’s no need to put yourself in front. Your magic doesn’t work as well in close range, does it? There might be sticky situations where you cannot get out. ...It is not worth it.”
He pauses for another second, then asks, “Do you still have the plate?”
"My magic works just fine close up." Talion hefts the rusty meat cleaver, dried blood still visible on its edge, and grins. "This ain't my first rodeo, Sho. Won't be the last either. Don't forget they've got to see me first -- keep it dark, and keep it simple. I don't plan to go toe to toe with anything, that's his job..." He nods in the direction of Onyx. "I just need to make sure he doesn't get stick to any doors, or hit by any more of those spikes."
"And yeah, still got the plate. Planning to sell it when we get out. I can fetch it, but better if I do that later, when we're about to sleep. You need it now?"
Sho sighs. "Okay." He says softly. He still doesn't agree, but the man seems particularly firm and confident in his arrangement. It is easy to tell he is sill worried. "Don't be a hero." He adds at the end.
"I want to see if I can make it fit. It is fine if you can't get it. We are not sleeping. We get out of here. Today."
When the mimic dies, it reverts to its natural form. The natural form is a malleable blob, grey, and oozy. It has a couple appendages and little slits that you guess are eyes and mouth. If you get closer, the acrid smell of sulfur is strong. You could try to cut it open if you want to see what's inside but judging by the smell, you wouldn't expect much to be intact...
Erven you can tell the foot locker is not locked or trapped. The wardrobe door stands open and, again, you don't see or detect any traps. Lucky Bear does not come to you. She just whines and lies down near Sho and Talion, in the other room.
Sho smiles thinly at Talion’s attempt at humour. He lays back into the chair, rubbing his arms absentmindedly, in a defensive position, tired but alert. He lowers his eyes and looks down at the amulet in his palm, having too much on his mind. He caresses along the bony fingers, thoughtfully, remembering the vivid, agonizing, pulsating pain. Bright red blood pouring out of the gash, and with each heart beat there was more. Let it in. He was taught, every time she led him through the rituals. Do not fight the pain. He took a breath in and closed his eyes.
Assuming the short rest goes well, near the end he would use Channel Divinity to refresh a spell slot, so it recharges after.
He is also going to put light onto his amulet rather than his circlet, then keep it under his armor and clothes. Since Talion wants to “keep it dark”, despite of Sho’s protest.
Talion will move forward, looking for traps, secret doors and/or compartments in the next room (if Ervan has not already done so). (( rolls above, if needed ))
For cupboards and chests (one footlocker at least), he will retreat to the farthest point he can, hide (preferably under cover) and use use a spectral hand to open things, and lift out their contents. If there are any more 'stuck' doors, he blasts them with an Elditch Blast from a safe distance before pushing them with his crowbar... ;-)
Note: we've had things leap out of chests, and things leap out when we open chests; his focus is not entirely on the chest this time, but on the general area (if possible). He still shudders remembering the little doll...
Depending on how light works, light source at H12 or I17 (Bert and Sho). Then (if Onyx agrees), Onyx at K14 and Ervan at a similar location, perhaps H14 or I14? The latter two can be as near as they want, I suppose. I don't think Talion would mind if there was an obvious target standing nearby ;-) ... but that's up to Onyx and Ervan...

Erven examines the trunk and then the wardrobe for traps, with the help of Talion. He calls Lucky Bear onto the bed.

He also asks Bert to come into the room with his lantern for extra light and searching.

He chuckles, nodding at the armoured warrior, "Job's already taken."

Okay, you all take a short rest. What does the party want to do next?
You all want to do anything with the footlocker, the crates, or the mimic?

Okay can I ask who is where? Use the last map to tell me where your character is (coordinate).
Talion, the only difference you note is that the room is much nicer than the sleeping quarters you saw earlier.
Also Do you want to see what’s inside footlocker? Or just want to pull out whatever is there?

Sho is at H12, probably. With light on. Hopefully that is far enough.
