(Assuming the combat is over...)
With Onyx's final blow, the armour fell to the ground with a loud thud, shaking the dust that had accumulated on the ground over the years, and Sho held his breath, his dark pupils staring at the motionless armour until he was sure it would not move again, then hurried up the stairs. He approached Erven, who had fallen unconscious on the floor, and pulled a vial of healing potion from his own pack, pulling the elf's jaw open not so gently and pouring in a stream of the liquid. Those snakes did bite hard...
Erven opens his eyes and takes a deep breath, sputtering at first. “Ahhhhh, what happened?” He sees Sho bent over him with the potion bottle and it all rushes back. He will stand when he can, weak but definitely feeling better....

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
@Onyx - the yuan-ti's stupendous chop with the longsword cuts the cuirass from neck to navel and in doing so, a hiss of noxious gas leaks out. The armor itself dissolves and disperses into the air. Those immediately around it must make a Constitution save (DC12) or take 6 poison damage. (Talion, Onyx is immune, and Erven). *The animated armor is dead!
@Bertolt - Your bolt flies true and hits the flying snake (FS2) directly in the chest and it falls out of the sky and onto the stairs behind Sho - it is dead!
@Talion - [need a con save]. As you see the armor drop and begin to push outwards in a cloud of poisonous gas, you decide to try to end the final threat of the last flying snake. Gritting your teeth against the fumes, you bolster your energy and run behind Onyx, leap up onto the railing and take a step, and pivot jump with your daggers in front of you! You swipe at the snake and it tries to flit out of your way - but you are quicker and slice the abdomen of the creature. You drop down onto your feet underneath and get showered with warm blood and spidery entrails. FS1 is dead!
[The Con saves happen before Erven's death save and Sho's administering of the potion - and those who are blessed don't forget!]
"Damn it all. They cannot defeat me with their puppets, so they mislead and enchant with terrible illusion."
Onyx turns, visibly unaffected by the mist, planting the tip of his sword in the floor and leaning on the hilt. He notices Erven is down but Sho, quick and wise, obviously already has it handled. He notices the mist edging towards Talion and prepares to move forward if the warrior succumbs to the gaseous hazard.

Talion's leap carries him clear of the gas, his focus entirely on the remaining snake. In a move more suited to his old life, he throws himself at the snake, leaping from floor to balustrade and into the air. He lands back on the floor, almost silently as the remains of the snake writhe briefly before becoming still.
"Gods, what a creature!" He says, kicking the body violently into the wall, before tuning to his companions, and looking around the room again, checking for more threats.
When he sees no more threats, he nods at Ervan's now-revived form and sags against the wall. "I could do with a rest" he says, absent-mindedly rubbing his wounded arm.
(( What was the result of the prior investigation? ))
"I would favor a rest as well." Erven's face looks ashen, shaken by his near death experience. "Thank you Sho. For a minute I thought you were my mother. I had a vision, a vision of the owner or master of this house, who was walking with me. I saw my mother and he beckoned her over. She spoke with me, told me that it was not my time yet. He started laughing at me and at her. My mother punched me in the face and I ended up back here, with Sho leaning over me. The last thing the hooded man with long teeth said was "You have some fight yet, my pet? Good, good..." I think this bastard is actually enjoying this bullshit, our struggle and pain, our... death. I don't know why he is tormenting us. But I'm getting pretty tired of it. I'm tired of him using what happened to my family against me."Erven stands up slowly, shaken from the vision, and he takes a few gentle steps. "Where should we rest?"

Talion listens to Ervan then answers quickly, "The wolf room seems safest to me. Near the front door, we know what's around it..." he shudders, wondering what lies behind each door on this level.
He focuses and gathers his before speaking again, "I thought that the house was alive..." he looks around at the remains of the recent mayhem, then continues, looking back down the stairs, "...the wolves, the zombies, this armour -- and Sho said everything here was infused with magic. It seems that everything wants to kill us -- the living, the dead, and even the damned furniture!"
"Do you think that this person you saw actually the source of these attacks?Or is he just another trick?"
As he waits for an answer, Talion stands and dusts himself down, again quickly assessing the room for any items of interest. (( See previous rolls ))
"Yes, I feel that he is the source of these attacks, I feel that he is doing it for his amusement somehow. That is my impression. He was glad that I survived, not that he's looking out for me, but just so that he can toy with me some more, and hurt me more." Erven stops and stares at his feet, his hands. "I feel like I'm looking for the strings and who's pulling them. I feel like a puppet who is performing on a stage."

Talion looks away, remembering It always comes down to this. "That's what the powerful do: play with the less powerful. Though sometime the powerful will offer alliances. I doubt our tormentor sees any value in us. Perhaps this is a test, though?" Not that I'd ever want to serve such a master!
He shudders again, shakes his head as if to shake free of the train of thought, then smiles ruefully. "Guess I better drag my chest downstairs! Unless people want to take a longer time to recover?"
Sho stared at Erven in silence, complicated feelings swimming in his dark eyes. Listening to the young elf's open and candid confession, in the death mansion it was as if someone had taken a dull knife and bloodily unravelled it, and he was the stranger who was intruding on everything. He feel like he shouldn’t have intruded Erven’s vision, but the content of it bothered him even more.
He reached out and covered Erven's hands, cutting off his longing view of searching for the strings. “Do not think about that. Think about something real. The sword you are holding, the fight, the pain…” He looked over at the screeching sound, “…the chest Talion has been dragging around. Let us get to somewhere safe to rest.”
Talion smiles at the mention of the chest, "Don't forget the chamber pot!"
He sighs, looking down the stairs in the direction he left the chest, "Fragile though. I wrapped it in the clothes, but I think I might leave the chest where it is for now, at least until we take a longer rest."
Erven smiles a wan smile at the mention of the chest. "Hah! Have you found wheels for that thing yet? Perhaps we throw it onto Onyx's back, I'm sure it would break mine right about now." He takes a deep breath. "After the encounter with that snake I want to throw up in your chamber pot right about now. But I'll get by." He turns to Sho. "Thank you, my friend. Thank you for saving me. I feel that I can make it through this house if I have you with me" he looks at each of them in turn "I know you are real. We will make it through this and find the caped thing with long teeth and a sneering smile that is doing this to us. I want to kill him, stand over his body with my middle finger extended toward him and say "**** you!" once and for all." You see the pained, tired look and exhaustion replaced with true, seething anger from the wood elf.
"Let's go rest."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Talion nods to Bertolt, as they both start to work on the sword. When they get it free, hopefully without collapsing the armour this time, Talion brings the sword back to examine more closely. "Big sword, anyone?" he asks, and if there are no takers, he sends it unceremoniously clattering down the stairwell, then shrugs, and turns back to the room. "
Dex (adv): 16
When the noises from the clattering sword abate, Talion gestures to Ervan to continue, helping him to check the room for traps. If it is clear, he investigates for hidden doors, compartments or hiding places, before finally moving to check the (collapsed?) armour.
While you try really hard to find something, you aren't really successful. You feel deflated. You notice the same fine oil lamps are mounted on the oak-paneled walls. They are unlit but have ample fuel. The walls you notice are carved with woodland scenes of trees, falling leaves, and tiny critters. Looking a bit closer, you notice tiny corpses hanging from the trees and worms bursting up from the ground. You notice a set of double doors to the north, a door to the south, and another door opposite the double doors, to the north west. You finally come back around to where Sho was talking to you and sit. You sigh deeply. As you do you cock your head to the side as you look along the wall. Sho notices and looks too, confused. Then she looks back at you, smiling. It looks like a part of the wall on this side (beside the door to the south) sticks out a little too much - you've found a secret room! As you walk over, you wave Talion over to investigate. Checking the bottom and the barely noticeable seam in the wall, he deduces that it can be pushed inwards........
[DM note - my bad on the perception roll. I misread both Erven and Sho's passives. Just for future reference, perception is used to notice, investigation is used to deduce (so it should be rather specific, unless you want to spend an hour knocking on the walls ;) ]
Erven points out the secret room to the others, making a small mark on the floor as well. "Let's rest now if we can, when we come back up let's light these oil lamps and investigate this room. I would feel much better after a little rest..."

Finally - things are looking up for this group of battle-weary adventurers! Having defeated a fearsome trio of enemies and found a promising secret door, the smiles plastered on their faces are well-earned...
As you make your way down the stairs, pass the second floor and descend towards the first, Onyx stops short. Like a rising tide, the cursed white, roiling mists have somehow gained entry into the house! The mists swirl and whoosh silently as you stare in shock at the scene. A low familiar laughter emanates from somewhere in the opaque clouds, mingled with sporadic growls. You look at each other and begin to hear the baby crying from upstairs again, louder and more incessantly. A strange whirring sound begins to make itself known and you look to the side and you see the great sword - sunken about 8 inches into the wooden supports of the stairs - casually vibrating And humming like a singing bowl you’ve seen monks and magical types use to aid in mediation or study. You get an ominous feeling - it doesn’t look like resting on this floor is an option. One positive thing is that it doesn’t seem to be rising higher at the moment....
Talion stares at the sword more closely. It didn't disappear with the armour. That's probably bad. He gives it a wide berth before cursing and returning to the first level. "I don't think any of us want to risk going near the music room again."
As he speaks, he carefully picks up his chest and carries it over to the stairs, putting it down to rest on one of the steps before lifting it again, and placing it a few steps higher. "Maybe whatever that is..." he says, waving at the mist as he catches his breath, "...doesn't reach the rooms above. Cobwebs and all..."
Part way through climbing the stairs he pauses, "I no-one wants to sleep, we should rest on the stairs...they are narrow and easy to defend."
