@Sho You act as a beacon of light as you cross the room to look at - and out - the window. As you do you, note that there is no window pane here - it seems to have been broken long ago. Dust and cobwebs decorate the window. You notice some disturbance in the dust, as if a small animal of some sort has come through here....
@Talion and Ervan You Sherlock & Holmes the room, but find no loose floorboards or secret places reveal themselves to you. Disappointed, Ervan heads to the wooden trunk. Talion, however, hides behind Onyx as he continues to lift up the sheets, revealing mannequins and furniture. It's quite a sight: the human crouching behind the yuan-ti as he tries to manipulate the invisible hand to pull back the sheet from the trunk! Finally, Talion is able to - from a distance - pull back the sheet. Ervan recoils - the rictus grin of a skull looks back at him! Collecting himself, Ervan notices a full skeleton wrapped in the sheet and tucked into the wooden trunk.
@Onyx You begin to tear the sheets from the objects, ready for anything. At one point, you notice Talion tuck himself into your shadow and moving his hands this way and that. He gives you a wink. You continue moving and he continues to follow, like a remora to a shark. Around the middle of the room, you pull a sheet back to reveal another mannequin - though this time, the creepy doll you tried to attack earlier presents itself!!!
It says several guttural words in a language you don't recognize, but it sounds like deep, muffled, slashing dark syllables. [does anyone know infernal?]
Bertolt jumps in bro action and loads his crossbow quickly as he readies himself to fight the strange doll. "If I make this into a book it will make quite the good story to keep children in line..."
Onyx glares imperiously downwards at the doll, his mind rejecting this new incursion. He brings the blade up, hoping to destroy the foul doll before it can slip away again.
Attack: 24 Damage: 12 magical slashing damage.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
(( Talion is up next, I think, being behind Onyx, I assume he can back away safely ;-) ))
Talion backs away from the creature, his eyes widening. Being attacked by a caricature of a baby mouthing demonic phrases unsettles him more than he would admit. Gutteral sounds issue from his mouth as he lashes out with his magic, hoping that the tiny horror will just die, like everything else in the house.
@Onyx, @Bert The slash does tremendous damage and together with Bert's bolt, are making the doll look pretty rough...
@Talion Your curse lands on the doll but your blast goes wide, nicking some of its hair. It follows the blast as it is absorbed into the wall behind it, head twisting around a couple of times imposibly... It twists back around, eyes blinking, and begins to giggle in a high-pitched squealing voice...
Doll- ...the doll's terrifying giggle focuses in on you, its eyes drilling holes into you that you find hard to turn away from....all you seem to hear is the maniacal giggleing from this...this....doll? Talion, make a wisdom save! (DC14)
The giggling echoes in your mind incessantly but you are able to find a wellspring of defiance from somewhere deep and claw your way back to fight it. The doll smiles at you and says something in a language you don't understand...before Erven's rapier enters its head and it ceases to do anything. It lies at your feet, motionless.
Combat is over.
[Where were we? ;) So you have a skeleton in the trunk and most of the furniture has been uncovered by Onyx. The trunk isn't as nice as the chest that Talion has already and is considerably heavier. And bloodstained. And smelly. What would you like to do now?]
Erven upwraps the skeleton in the trunk, looks in the trunk, tries to see if there are any other identifying markers on the body, trying to find out who this is.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Erven helps Talion with searching the room systematically, ending up at the chest.
