As Sho man-handles Talion to a safer spot, Talion eyes leave the retreating Paladin and his angry frown is replaced by a broad smile. He stifles a laugh, shakes his head, and speaks quietly and urgently in the man's ear...
Sho gave Talion a stare that is halfway between resignation and desolation. His face was impassive, standing among the sea of chaos and bloodbath like a perfect monument - even if there was some slight emotions in his expression, it was drowned out by the bright glow of the shining circlet above his brows. He was unwilling to show it, like he was unwilling to make a promise he can’t keep. His dark gaze searches Talion’s injuries, and his eyes seem to soften at the sight of his amulet well stowed under the man’s armor. “Go,” he says tersely, “don’t wait up.”
Erven considers past experiences and if he has ever encountered anything like Lorgohoth before, knows anything about it. He also considers the shades / shadowy figures of the cultists, (are these shadows, what are they, what is their nature?
Lorgohoth insight : 8
Shadow insight : 16
Erven, the apparitionsare nothing more than that. Your intuition tells you that they are simply figments of the cultists doomed to repeat a task forever, an idea that is repugnant to you. As for Lorghoth, you recognize it as undead and some of its mannerisms are familiar to you. But much more than that, you have no idea as to the intentions of the creature, other than to fulfill the promise of the chanting shadows...
"Portcullis is open!" Onyx shouts. "Disengage and move."
He continues to stick to the plan, moving 25 feet north. He should end up at just above A6, fifteen feet north of the open portcullis. Once there he turns, raising his longsword and readies an attack should Lhorgoth try to chase him down.
Onyx shouts instructions to the rest of you and hightails it through the portcullis.
Sho will step back to G7, grab Talion and push him in front of him at E7 F7.
Sho moves up to grab Talion, dragging and pulling him away from the creature. As Sho moves out of range, Lorghoth snaps a tentacle forward in rage at the cleric: Attack: 21 Damage: 11 bludgeoning damage.
Group 3 is up!
Lorghoth gibbers and wails and moves diagonally to the dais. You watch its body contort and bulge as several human-like, skinless arms sprout from its body and begin to pull itself up to the dais. It reminds you of an overweight octopus as it works itself up the octogonal landing. You watch in disgust as the creature sheds skin as it moves, leaving floating pieces of gore and squirming maggots in its wake... Lorghoth takes 4 fire damage from the alchemist's fire, which still burns on its back - or what you think is its back. The little face of Walter seems to function as its head and it looks at Sho in confusion, anger, frustration as it cries with a voice that sure sounds like an infant. But juxtaposed against this fleshy blob of wrongness, it seems severely out of place. It will attack Sho: 1st attack: Attack:9Damage:15 2nd attack: Attack:18Damage:12 *If both hit, Sho roll an acrobatics or athletics save to see if Lorghoth grapples you!
Seeing the path is clear, Erven dashes north through the portcullis and goes northeast towards the stairs, movement of 35 feet. As he is running he sheathes his rapier and slings his shield over his back and takes out his long bow. He calls to Lucky Bear to follow him. He shouts out “The plan is to get out and run, right?”
OKay, if I am reading Sho correctly, he goes to G7 to be able to pull Talion back. So, the attack of opportunity doesn't happen on Sho since it has stayed within reach. So ignore the AoO. It also means Sho is at G7, which pushes Lorghoth down a bit, and Talion is at F7. I have updated the map in the post above.
Talion disengages, says "I'll get Onyx, you disengage and run!" to Sho, then moves along the following path: E7, D7, C7, B6, A6. If he can move into the alcove room, he will, otherwise I think he stops one square south of Onyx. To Onyx he says, "Sho's nearly down, we need someone to cover retreat through the portcullis. And tell the damned bard to run!"
Edit: OOh. I forgot. Bonus Action: Transfer Hex to Thing!

No problem. Yes, I think you'd land right on Onyx if you went the whole way. So on the map, you'd be one square to the south of Onyx. Re: HEX - noted. It's on Lorghoth now.
Lucky Bear moves to follow Erven, but notices Sho in front of Lorghoth. Snarling and frothing in anger, Lucky Bear moves within range to attack! Attack:12Damage:5 *if this hits, Lorghoth must make a CON saving throw (DC11).
Erven notes Lucky Bear is not behind him, he turns and shouts out “Lucky Bear, where are you! Do you guys want me to come back down there? Are we fighting it or fleeing?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"No, Erven - " Onyx starts to object but the crazy, speedy elf is already long gone, apparently ignorant of Lucky Bear's valor. He nods as Talion asks him to help with Sho and Bertholt. He moves to H5 and casts Poison Spray at VB2, well aware of the reach of it's vines.
VB 2: DC 14 Con saving throw or it suffers 7 poison damage.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.

CON save - 5.
....Onyx's poison spray is effective, causing the vine blight to fall in a pile at the secret door. VB2 is dead! [Onyx at H5 beside Bert].
Bertolt will use his full movement to get through the portcullis, turning back to look at Onyx. "Do hurry. It looks rather bad that you are letting an older man out run you!" He yells, using the jest to inspire Onyx.
Bonus action Inspiration so Onyx gets a d6 to add to a roll.
Sho goes to grab Lucky Bear, and he hurriedly glances at Onyx by the door. “Catch!” He yells at him as he throws the dog.
STR Check: 1
(( Waiting on OOC comment. )) nvm. Still throwing the dog.
You try to go and snatch up Lucky Bear but she isn't having any of it....she resists. Lucky Bear DEX check - 8
As you reach for her, she squirms just out of your reach and scoots away...
Bertolt runs north through the portcullis, ending just above Talion. Onyx gains Bardic Inspiration.
ERVEN - I moved you back to just above Bertolt as you had written you are getting the bow ready and taking your shield off.
Lorghoth take 2 fire damage.... The Decayer gibbers and cries wildly as it feels a scratch on its fleshy body but ignores it, concentrating on the far more interesting humanoid in front of it. Sho radiates divine energy, an offense to its undead sensibilities and a compulsion to destroy such things is all it can think about...It moves fully to the west and north and will attack Sho! [Lorghoth is now at I and J, 5 and 6].
BUT not before Lucky Bear gains an attack of opportunity!!! Attack:8Damage:5 22/5*if a hit, Lorghoth needs a CON save - DC11....

(( We probably need to know the result of the attacks on Sho before acting, though I suspect he has crumpled to the ground...and where Sho is nvm -- shiny new map! ))
Talion roars in anger as Sho goes down, "Bastard monstrosity, you will pay!" He takes an involuntary step forward, planning to drag Sho's body back, but then the Thing will have three of them trapped, and Sho's work -- and everyone else's -- will have been wasted. He remembers the words of his brother. Anger plays into the Man's hands, bro, get a grip!
Taking a breath, Talion seethes, but stands firm, his only fear is that Sho may die. Quashing the temptation to launch a blast of arcane energy at the creature, he instead chants a few guttural sounds, then gestures to the south-east. Moments later, a phantasmal hand begins to take shape on the portcullis controls.
Fear still eating at him, he follows the hastily agreed plan, knowing all their lives depend on hard-won team work. He utters more unintelligible words, and clenches his left hand, as if holding something tight within it.
Onyx feels a presence surround him, followed by a sense of calm protection. "Onyx, I've done what I can for you, but you mustn't attack! Wake Sho! Then fall back when he's through to us."
"Make sure they have a clear path" he says to those with him, frustration and worry plain in his voice. His eyes, almost unblinking, continuously dart from the prone priest to the Thing and back.
Action: Mage Hand (forming on portcullis controls) Bonus Action: Sanctuary (Onyx) Move: TBD (likely to A6)

Bertolt continues to chop at VB2, scoring another big hit! VB2 moves slower and it seems real hurt, as far as you can tell.
