I am sorry I forgot about the lizards, when you left the alter area they all left you.
the neddle points more to the center of the volcano, which is part of the cliff face. So your options are to climb or go in to the cave, of course going back is also an option.

Kraven will hop on over to the dead body and search it see if it has any information or long lost treasure on it. Then he will move to the cave entrance and see if there are any traps on it.
"Oy, Bigm'n! Your passenger recognize this one too?" Mist asks Gintarou, nudging the body with one boot. "Wonder what killed them out here?" he muses as he pokes his head into the cave to look around.
"What ever it was it happen some time ago," Druquilla comments looking the skeleton over, her gaze then turns to the volcano and she sighs lightly. "I am not looking forward to going in there."
You can tell the skeleton is an elf, the body lays just a few feet from the edge of the cliff side, the bones are broken, some shattered. One what's left of the body is a leather sheath with a sword in it, the sheath has some elvish looking marks on it, along with them being on the hilt. Anyone who can read elvish can read that it is the Drow’s version of elvish, and you think it reads Berg’naste or Bem’naste or Berg’onim, your not sure exactly, but it is a Drow name.
As for the cave it's a dark hole, and the lizard is standing at the opening looking at you all and then the opening, back and forth, back and forth.
Kraven will look at the cliff and the cave entrance and then fly up and drop one side of his rope down the side so the others can help climb up. He will then look for a way to secure his side as he might not be strong enough to secure it himself.
"Humm… fat chance" Gintarou answers Mist. "There isn't much of this guy ( or girl? ) left. But worth a try. Magnus-dono. Do you have any idea who this bone elf is?"
>>Kraven
"So… currently we have two ways to get in the volcano. Enter the dark hole or climb that dangerous steep cliff. If we choose the latter, I'll climb first and pull you guys up."
"This sword may not be useful but it could be worth something to a collector. It is magic but it will disintegrate if exposed to sunlight." Aubric will warp it up best he can and stow it in his pack.
"Still useful if used indoors or at night," Druquilla remarks after listening to Aubric description of the blade then looks up the cliff. "I agree with you Kraven, plus I would hazard a guess that our new deceased friend here tried going up the cliff himself, and...well...any of us aside from yourself could end up in the same condition with just one wrong move."
Druquilla then moves cautiously to the mouth of the cave drawing her bow and nocking an arrow as she goes just to see if there is anything in the cave worth noting within the first sixty feet.
"If so… let's head the cave then" Gintarou starts to tie the torch on the shaft of his glaive just like the time they entered the old temple.
The warrior follows the Elf ranger. He carefully observes the surrounding of the entrance. Trying to find signs of former occupants, like animal footprints or leftover bones.

"Anyone want the fancy blade? We're headed into a dark cave so a magical sword could prove useful. It's too big for me to swing comfortably but maybe Dru could get some use out of it," Mist comments as he makes his way to his preferred spot at the middle of the group as they press into the darkness.

Kraven hops on over to the entrance of the cave and looks around. "I can not see in the dark so we either light a torch or someone who can see in the dark has to lead the way. Then if they see something odd, we can light a torch then and I can see if there are any traps about or anything secret being hidden."
(Sorry I thought I posted that I would be gone for the weekend, went camping with the cub scouts.)
You all start walking through the cave, you see no prints of animals, nothing showing signs of life, there are twists and turns, dips and hills, you continue to move slowly and steady unsure of what's around the next corner. Finally daylight hits you at a much shorter cliff side, this one while closer to the ground would have been even harder to climb up, but climbing down is easy for the group. You are at a path, one way goes away from the volcano the other heads up it. Which way do you want to go?

The climb would be extreamly hard.

While everyone is looking at the body and deciding what to do Aubric would like to take 10 min and ritual cast Identify on the drow's sword.

Aubric it is a Drow made +1 short sword, once the blade is hit by sun light it has 1 hour left til it disintegrates.
Kraven how long is your rope?

Krtaven would have used his 50' of hemp rope he has first, and then if needed he would also attach his 50' of silk rope that are in his backpack.
So we are short about 100-150 feet of rope still.
