Vurnic swipes, he's gonna get the girl. Sarah falls.
Ogguimash, Vurnic, Zevryl, and Gordon are victorious. Congratulations!
Basil comes into the arena and feeds Ogguimash and Gordon each a Healing potion so tgey can be presented to the cheering crowd.
Medics emerge and tend to the fallen. Denka is carried away with a sheet over her face. In the medics office Gell, Sarah, and Zumric wake to find Truth has come down and is casting a spell over Denka's lifeless body. She gasps for breathe feeling the sudden jolt of energy as her soul is yanked from the void to Revivify her body.
Gell, Sarah, Denka, and Zumric each gain 200 xp, 40 gp, and a powerful sense of fatigue.
The victors enjoy the adoration of the crowd as it washes away the pain of their wounds and the shock of their individual brushes with death. They are lead down to the prize room. Each gains 100 gold and 300 experience to adban e to level-2. In the prize room...
Tier 1:
"Take any one item. We're well equipped." The room contains every item from Chapter 5 of the Player's Handbook weighing 70 pounds or less, armor of varying sizes, instruments, tool kits. There are also spell scrolls, every first level spell is present (as well as spell scrolls of a level for which a magic user of the characters new level would have slots for), and an encyclopedia of knowledge. Reading these books will grant you proficiency with any one of tool kit or any one language, depending which book you choose. The books are magically infused to allow easy retention, but the magic is lost once used.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Og wakes up, confused. He springs to his feet, and starts talking rapidly in an odd, guttural language (if you understand Undercommon, read the spoiler):
"They're coming! The shadows . . .do they never stop? Are they so relentless? Did I escape the spiders and their worshipers just for this? Gods, no . . ."
He then comes to his senses, and realizes that he's won. He will then try to convince the crowd to join his chant (Mash! Mash! Mash!)(Performance): 18
Og will pick Plate armor as his prize, and inquire as to whether or not he could exchange his greataxe for a maul.

(Yes, I realize he can't wear it, also sorry to BDaddly for trying to cheat the system, and I'm probably going to get mugged as soon as I try and sell it and it's gonna get stolen.)

Heavy Armor. Heavier armor interferes with the wearer's ability to move quickly, stealthily, and freely. If the Armor table shows "Str 13" or "Str 15" in the Strength column for an armor type, the armor reduces the wearer's speed by 10 feet unless the wearer has a Strength score equal to or higher than the listed score.
(You could technically wear it if you took the speed penalty. Or, you could maybe talk BDaddLy into replacing one of your tiefling traits with the dwarven one that deals with Strength requirements for heavy armor (I forget its name).)

(Yes, bravo for breaking stereotypes. Same with the dwarf tiefling, never seen one of those before . . .)
(Also, boy am I glad that I leveled up. Paladins get a huuuuuge power increase at level 2, maybe even the biggest of any class. They get a Fighting Style, Divine Smite, annnnnnd Spellcasting.)

((Great game! That was a lot of fun and nerve-wracking! DEFINITELY will play a lot more. Gordon is now level 2 with two weapon fighting and a blood curse! Will decide on the prize when Im home! GG everyone!))
(I originally was going to make him a regular tiefling, just really brash and loud. I even gave him a dwarven-like accent. Then I realized that he was essentially a dwarf, and decided what the heck he's a dwarf tiefling.)

(Not gonna mug Zevryl, but it is worth less to the shop than you might think. Still the most valuable item available there. You might be happier with Half Plate though.)
Og, a maul is definately appropriate for mashing. But Basil will simply point out you new coins and direct you to the Weapon smith. A new Maul will cost you 10 gold. And if you want to sell the axe he'll buy it for 14.

Zevryl will get plate as well.

(If it is not too personal to your character, why can the paladin not wear plate armor?)
Eider, Level 13 Human Abjurer Wizard - Colosseum of Conquest (11W-3L) (Tougher than he looks)
(Not enough strength. I decided to go dex based. It was kind of a bad idea, but no going back now!)

Gordon goes for a Breastplate.
