Grzak will follow Gabriel’s lead, grip the long sword with two hands and charge into the fray. Acting as Gabriel’s wingman, he will assess the best target that can be reached within 30’.
Coals from a large firepit in the middle of this cavern cast a red glow on walls and ceiling. This area is roughly 30’x40’.
Sitting beside the fire is something like a ‘Goblin on steroids.’ At his side is a wolf. A cowering Goblin is offering a drink to him. Another Goblin can be seen at the far side of the cave, among sacks and crates.
Gabriel’s charge was less than stealthy, so the creatures in the cave roll initiative:
Alarion sighs as the attacks ensure there can be no peaceful ending. He gets line of sight on Klarg and flicks his wand, sending 3 star-like projectiles to slam into the leader, doing 8 damage.
(OOC this is a bit tricky with initiative, but I’ll just roll with it. (yes, that is a terrible pun) I’d rather stick with original order and consider everyone’s movement up the slippery last slope of the garbage chute as their action during last round, mid-combat vs new combat)
So yes, here’s the order again:
Alarion: 20 Bad guys: 15 or 18, same difference Gabriel: 9 Rowan: 7 Katherine: 5 Grzak: 3
I can use the attack and damage rolls given in your posts for this 2nd round.
3 glowing missiles slam into the large burly Goblinoid for 8 damage.
Kathrine calls on her god, creating a bond between Grzak and Gabriel. The two can now add 1d4 to any attack, save, or ability check they make, once per turn. Lasts for ten minutes.
Grzak dodges Klarg’s overswing and hears the arrow whistle past. His instinct would have been to thrust the sword into Klarg seeking any opening given to him. But in an instant, he saw this Paladin fellow struck HARD and everything changed. There was no rage to draw upon, Gruumsh was far away. Instead he felt the call of Helm, the Protector.
Hrzak pivoted and struck with all his might against the wolf that apparently had his comrade at its mercy.
Emboldening bond added to the attack roll: 3
Two handed swing of the longsword: Attack: 17 Damage: 10
(Not sure the of the exact layout, but if Grzak has any movement left, he will try to position himself between Klarg and Gabriel, especially if he’s prone.)
Rowan's arrow has fired from the shadows (target yet tbd lol)
Katherine reaches her hands out and power flows into Gabriel and Grzak...
Grzak's realization and heroic change of target may allow Klarg an attack of opportunity, but in the meantime - his mighty two-handed swing nearly finishes the wolf. But not quite.
(OOC recap: Rowan's choice of target will make a difference regarding whether he can do extra damage from stealth on a 10. Gabriel's strength check will tell if he's knocked prone.)
Rowen will stealth forward on his turn and take a shot at a goblin (if one's still alive)
Stealth:10
Attack: 18 Damage: 9

Still in the first round of initiative, sorry Grzak,
Alarion: 20
Goblin: 15
Gabriel: 9
Rowan: 7
Katherine: 5
Grzak: 3
Alarion has KO’d the Goblin, so it no longer has a turn.
Gabriel charges up into the cavern.
Rowan uses the cover of the stalagmites as he follows.
Katherine lets others take the lead but also sees into the cave.
Grzak has recovered from tripping over his chain, rushing to catch up to Gabriel.
As you all top the rise and see around the stalagmites…

3 glowing missiles slam into the large burly Goblinoid for 8 damage.
"Klarg angry now!" it roars and charges.
There is enough room for Gabriel and Grzak to stand side by side, as they recover from nat 1s and face the charging beast.
Rowan can choose: will he attack Klarg, wolf, fireside Goblin, or far Goblin?
Katherine is staying behind the front lines. But Alarion has gotten Klarg’s attention. To be fair, Klarg will attack:
1-2: Alarion
3-4: Gabriel
5-6: Grzak
5
Klarg's rage focuses on the escaped prisoner - his morning star is out and whipping towards Grzak with dangerous speed
Attack: 6 Damage: 12
Klarg's spiked weapon swings wide, and he calls to his pet wolf: "Ripper, attack!"
The wolf perceives Rowan in the shadows, so he may attack
1 Alarion
2 Gabriel
3 Grzak
4 Rowan
3
Wolf: Attack: 20 Damage: 10
ouch.
The mistreated animal leaps upon Gabriel and its teeth find flesh.
Gabriel will also have to make a strength saving throw to avoid being knocked to the ground by the force of impact.
The goblin beside the fire runs and dives under the cover of the sacks and crates. The one who was already in that area shoots his bow.
He doesn't see Rowan, Katherine is a difficult target, and he doesn't risk shooting his boss's favourite pet, so he aims for:
1-2: Alarion
3-4: Grzak
3
Goblin's arrow: Attack: 20 Damage: 4

(OOC: so is this the round that I roll my 1 and miss?)
