Phillip, you look around the room and entrance, and don't find anything else of value or anything that might prove useful or important.
Eku nods at Phillip "Alright. Then it shall be done.", and then she looks over to the halfling, awaiting his response and already starting to hover up towards the jug. As long as she has no objections from him, she's going to go grab the jug.
Alton gives a nod of agreement to Eku, but had his thieves tools prepared should the group need them again. He is also ready to at a moments notice help Eku should any trouble arise with the trap.
Evo, you notice that this person was wearing some ruined scale mail which had some markings which you and Azaka both agree is of the Order of the Gauntlet. This must've been one of the templars that didn't make it out. Perhaps they were hiding in the latrine when the undead struck? Either way, this person had a horrible place of death and now it seems you were able to make it a little better for them. Azaka would follow Evo down to the boats, feeling a sense of calm with what they had just done.
At that same moment, they'd hear some crashing from the shrine. Gotur would hear it even louder.
Eku nods back at Alton as she gets confirmation from both. She flies up to the top of the stairs, avoiding the magically trapped stairs. She sees the jug and gets a good grip on it with her mouth. She takes it and begins to fly down, and immediately after that, hundreds of loose bricks begin to fall from the ceiling. She telepathically says to Phillip since her mouth is full of jug "there was another rig. Get out, now."
Alton and Phillip please roll a DEX save, with advantage. While the falling bricks were caused by moving the jug, the bricks are only bludgeoning damage, not magical in any way so Eku is going to try and shelter and/or swat away bricks from Alton and Phillip from the falling bricks to protect them as she flies out.
DC 13, 14 on a fail, half on a success.
The bricks continue to fall for three rounds, but you are all close enough to the door to only have one round for the save.
So, Eku's got the jug.
Maybe you all retreat back to where Gotur is on the map after that.
Eku says "Are you both ok? I'm sorry.. I should've known taking the jug could also potentially set something off."
This is what the jug looks like. Eku and Azaka don't know what it does other than it must've been put there by Chultans many years ago.
Also, Eku is going to morph back to her human form now.
Map is updated.
What is next? There are no more encounters on this day, so if there is no other business here, we can move this along to the next day.
Evo would look with bemusement towards the temple.
"Glad they are having fun in there, eh Azaka?"
He surveys the ruined camp again and asks Azaka,
"Are we safe enough here or should we float down the river a bit? With the fire we made and the noise they were making maybe we've attracted a bit of attention."
((OOC: since we are escaping a collapsing temple, and he rolled high… …for flavour, please can we say that Phillip pulled out his bull-whip and (completely unnecessarily) swung himself across the pit-trap, Indiana Jones style? Please please please? No one would have seen it anyway really. Lol))
Phillip manages to emerge with a few bumps and scrapes. “Oh no!! Oh wow!!.. Sorry everyone! You all okay??!… … I hope that pot is worth it! Uh huh, uh huh… we’ll it looks ‘pretty’ either way! Yep yep yep!… … anyone ever seen anything like this?…. Was it magical, did you say, Miss E’Ku??…”.
((Phillip is ready and happy to move on down the river a little and camp!))
"Aye think aye saw one of these before, it's a big lamp filled with oil. Ye shove a bit of string in each spout and ye can get a proper light going! It got oil in it?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alton and Phillip skillfully evade most of the bricks, taking only minor damage.
Evo, Azaka responds "You are right. The undead will likely be here sooner than later once they get wind of the fire. Yes, let's continue down the river until supper. Then we shall rest and then I believe if we move fast tomorrow we can make it to Camp Vengeance by the end of the day. Perhaps the templars there who fled this camp can give us more information about all of this place, and perhaps we can even offer help and support to them should they need it."Azaka senses that that is something Evo might likely be up for doing given how he's been carrying himself with all of the proper burials and cremations for various folks along this journey.
Eku responds about the jug "Indeed, this jug is emanating magical energy. I feel a strong sense of Conjuration magic. I've never seen one of these before." (neither has Azaka) "Gotur, I was wondering the same thing about the spouts."
Evo mentions the oil guess. Eku responds "Hmmmmmm..."
Gotur, when you shake the jug, you hear a definite sloshing sound.
Ok, the party departs from the camp and continues travel down the river. I have moved the map marker accordingly on the Chult map for the day's travel which is now over. You all have a peaceful camp and maybe discuss the happenings at the shrine just a few hours earlier that day.
8:00AM - DAY 10
1. Direction: South following the river
2. Speed: Fast? Fast speed will yield 3 hexes which will bring the party to Camp Vengeance in the early evening on this day of travel, where the Order of the Gauntlet templars have retreated to a few months ago from the camp we were just at. Normal speed gets us 2 hexes, so the next day we'd arrive in the morning at the camp. The party doesn't even have to stop at the camp either. They can decide once we go past it depending on what we see, etc.
3. Navigator: Not required, we are still on the river
4. Encounter rolls for Day 10: 13 (80) 15 (69) 3 (22)
Let me know your thoughts on what speed of travel for day 10, along with if you might be planning on stopping at the next camp (totally fine if you want to wait to see what it looks like and what's going on there before deciding).
Gotur has finished production on a potion of healing, and offers it to anyone who wants to have one on hand, holding onto it if no one jumps at it.
As they make camp on day 9, Gotur will take the many spouted jug away from the camp, letting the others know he's doing so, and carefully ease out one of the corks, wafting and smelling it if nothing occurs immediately.
((Fine with fast.))

((Cool about the potion of healing! Sorry Spider I haven't been keeping track of time spent etc., and also Gotur and Phillip, anytime we camp feel free to roll survival checks for materials for potions, salves and arrows.))
Gotur, you ease one of the corks out. <pop!> (Totally not as satisfying as hearing a cork pop in real life! haha) Funnily enough, when you take a wiff you can smell oil. Specifically, lamp oil.
((I hadn't either, I'll try to do better, but I was figuring if he's putting in an hour or so a day, that after 9 days, he should have finished one.))
"Huh. Just seems like lamp oil. Weird thing to have in that shrine thing if that's it, but suppose that they could have been topping up lanterns whenever that whatever happened that made them abandon it, and someone just set it on the pedestal. I suppose it could come in handy."

Phillip has been pretty lucky with fighting skeletons and grungs, and has been able to replenish his arrows, so he hasn’t been quite so focussed on foraging for materials or crafting over the last few days.
He’s also fine with a fast pace along the river.
And he’ll be keen to take a look at the next camp at least, and would probably be intrigued enough to want to visit it too ((assuming the intel Eku and Azaka gives them doesn’t warn us off that faction)).
There is 1 encounter for the day's travel, however it is something that requires no action from the party. No combat is required, no maps etc. etc. Basically, you would've noticed something with a 15 or higher passive perception, but because of the fast travel, no one noticed (-5 to passive perception). The party may or may not find out about what they missed later on. Perhaps they were being tracked or followed? Perhaps it ends up being nothing? I cannot say.
Alright, the party arrives at Camp Vengeance around 7:00PM on DAY 10.
Through the foliage, you see a crude timber fortification — a walled compound with watchtowers and tents inside it, encircled by a ditch bristling with sharpened stakes. A large gatehouse faces the river, on the shore of which are four rowboats tied to a wooden post.
Scattered around the fort are piles of charred human corpses and flayed animal carcasses swarming with flies.
The camp is ringed by a 20-foot-deep ditch lined with sharpened stakes backed by a stout, 12-foot-high log palisade. The depth of the ditch isn’t apparent because it’s perpetually filled with muddy water.
The gatehouse consists of the ground-level entryway and a roofless fighting platform surrounded by a palisade. Two guards are stationed atop the gatehouse day and night.
Each watchtower has a defended top level staffed by two guards.
I have updated the map, but I did not add on the guards to each of the towers. I will only add the camp residents to the map if required. (there are a lot!)
How will the party proceed here? Will everyone go up to the gate? Eku and Azaka are in their human forms.

Before cremating the soldier he'll check for something to identify him to others in his order.

That done he commends the remains to Torm,
"An ignoble passing, but we rarely get the choice. Aye hope ye found yer place amongst Tom's faithful before the curse happened last."
He then says a few non-denominational prayers for the body and concludes by thanking Azaka.
"Thank ye for the help. Best we go wait by the boats and such while the others test the traps!"
He'll then wandered down to the canoes and other boats.
Alton gives a nod of agreement to Eku, but had his thieves tools prepared should the group need them again. He is also ready to at a moments notice help Eku should any trouble arise with the trap.
