As 13stands over the door and the group debates the best way to open it, a scratching noise grows louder from behind one of the northern doors and both in the middle. As you all look up to see the source, three giant rats appear and charge.

Carric gracefully slips forward to meet the oncoming rats. He attacks the rat straight ahead of him, attempting to give it a sharp kick with his right foot, followed by a stomp with the same foot. Poor things,he thinks as he goes about the task very calmly, they know nothing but hunger...
Eerie's initiative 6. Eerie scoops up several pebbles from the ground near her and rolling them in her hand to causes them to glisten. (BA magic stone ). Then she pulls out her sling getting low and looking for an opportunity to fire at one of the rats. If she spots an opportunity (no chance of hitting someone else) she will fire one of the glistening stones via the sling at a rat (choosing weakest first if options). 16(+4 because of the stone)
"Meepo, please let me know if you see anything behind us." She whispers to him quickly.
Carric's swift blows snuff out the first rat, as Notian's magically cutting words fall upon the second. Wisdom saving throw: 5
The rat fails, taking 2 psychic damage as the words, incomprehesible, still weigh heavily on its self-image. The sad rat has disadvantage on its next attack.

The ratthat was further back scurries up to Carric, over the body of its packmate, and chews at the monk's ankles. It's attack seems emboldened by having an ally so close for support: Attack: 15 Damage: 3 piercing
The wounded rat also tries to bite Carric, and would also be braver in the attack if it were not for the recent psychic assault from Notian: Attack: 16 Damage: 6 piercing
13 is unable to get a good swing in the cramped conditions and misses the rat, which seems to have gone into a rage with the pain from Eerie's magic stone.
As Notian's mockery switches target, the rat makes a Wisdom save: 4
It fails, taking 1 psychic damage and suffering disadvantage on its next attack.
That attack comes against Carric again: Attack: 18 Damage: 5 but Foxford intercepts 4pts, reducing the damage to 1 piercing
EDITED - Misunderstood above and stopped fighting before I saw the next post.
Carric lets out a quiet "hmph" as two rats manage to get their teeth into him, though he realizes Foxford's skills have helped him avoid potentially worse wounds.
He once again uses quick feet to attempt to take out the raging rat.

Foxford swings his hammer in a low arc attempting upend the rat as if it were a type of ball with a mighty "Hurumph!" before returning to a defensive stance, ready to intercept the attacks of the rats against his companions!
Foxford’smaul comes down again, spreading the last giant rat into a grotesque greasy smear on the stone flooring. Splatters of rat blood spray the Firbolg’s boots and a couple of speckles adorn Carric’sclothing.
(End of combat – everyone add 30xp to their character sheet. Eeriedid not cast her spell as it was specified only if rats remained on her turn).
Looking through the six ajar doors you find some (now) abandoned rat nests, yielding a total of 4 silver pieces, 4 gold pieces and 4 gems worth 5gp each.
In the room to the north, which you can scout using dark vision or Notian’slights, you see that the cobblestone floor contains two trapdoors blocked open by iron spikes. There is a dry fountain in the north wall with overarching diving dragon carved into it and the room carries a faint rotten stench.
12 Notian looks around to see if he notices any further draconic writing anywhere. Whilst being careful with any movement to check for traps. Perception check
Eerie approaches Carric and with permission applies her skills with her herbalism and medicine7 to patching up the wounds and offers 5 Goodberry to him to take one at a time as she does so. (this will heal the 5 points and use up the remaining berries)
As they approach the room, she will peer down into the first pit to see if she can see anything in it.

Carric gratefully accepts Eerie's healing berries. "Thank you very much," he says. "I am hoping to learn more of the healing arts myself. It is part of the training of my order. Perhaps one day I shal be able to return the favor."He pauses for a moment, feeling the way the berries' magic works in his body, trying to align himself with these energies.
After helping search the rat nests, Carric edges up to the pit and takes a closer look both down into it and into the room beyond.
