“I’d be most pleased to teach you what I know as opportunities present. I love to teach!” She grins at Carric encouragingly. ( perception16 for looking in pit as well )

Following the others, 13 sheaths his sword and steps up to the trapdoor (OOC assuming we can move around it?) and steps further into the room towards the fountain and checks for anything untoward. Perception 13
"So we have two trapdoors, can you see anything useful anyone? Any clues to a way down? Should we go back to the door that we could not open?"
"There's writing on this fountain too, see?" And she gestures towards the fountain rolling a bit of sheep's fleece in her fingers. The runes glisten a brilliant blue. ( minor illusion )
Foxford follows the others and makes himself useful guarding the western door, he recoils a bit at the smell of rotten meat. "Think there might be something dead on the other side of this door, more of the walking dead maybe"
Notian heads over to the fountain to read the carving highlighted by Eerie. Foxfordis stood by the western door (just off to the side due to the pit). 13is stood near the fountain also, having inspected it and the wider room. Carricis currently south of the first pit, the side where you fought the rats.
@Notian:
The inscription reads, in Draconic, "Let there be death"
”Hey guys, this inscription doesn’t seem so friendly.”Notian remembers the teachings in the book of Ian and proceeds to lick the fountain to check for traces of poison.
As soon as Notian says the words out loud, a green mist is released from unseen openings in the dragon's mouth. It envelopes the area around the fountain and then dissipates, but not before the three adventurers inside the cloud have been exposed.
Notian, 13and Eerieall need to make Constitution saving throws please (13can make theirs with Advantage).
Carric was silently contemplating the dead rat bones in the pit, listening to the others. When Foxford mentioned more of the walking dead, it echoed what he had first thought upon smelling the rotten stench earlier. He was just about to step over the pit when the cloud of gas was released. He moves slowly over the corner of the pit to join Foxford near the western door, being careful to avoid the area of the cloud.
"Are you all right?"he quietly calls to the others caught in the gaseous cloud.

13 sees the cloud disperse from the fountain and immediately (if he is able) grabs the nearest to him, either Eerie or Notion or both, and drags them away as quick as he can. Hopefully prior to them inhaling too much.
Foxford watched the scene with surprise, and a bit of fear though it didn't show on his face, he quickly raised and arm to cover his mouth and nose with his armor and sleeved garment below it.
After the fog was settled Foxford looked at Notian, "That's twice you've read those inscription and 'something' has happened."

Eerie caps her hands over her mouth quickly and closes her eyes tight shut, pulling her clothing down over her hands and feeling her way away from the source of the mist. Save Roll 15 Feeling the effects of the gaseous cloud she will move faster accepting aid from anyone nearby. She tries to determine quickly as she does if she is being affected by its contact or by breathing it it or both.

(It may not be obvious on the picture but there is a door to the west)
(And is that door over the side of the pit?)
(Yes, but it can be opened from the edge of the pit and jumped through without an ability check)
Anything in the pits?
Each 20-foot-deep pit contains only rat bones, rusted metal bits, and filth. The stench of rotten meat comes from the other side of the western door.
@Eerie:
Nothing else found in or around the pit, but you find more almost-worn-away draconic writing on the fountain

Notian attempts to read the runes on the fountain lit up by Eerie’s blue light.

Notian detects no poison on the dried fountain.
“All good, guys, this one says “let there be death” maybe it’s linked to the door with the riddle?”

“Sorry....” Notian coughs 6
(If this is poison and he fails he is resistant to it)
