Eerie steps forward meekly, "I am a seeker of knowledge and have heard of an Outcast and a magical apple. I am new to the region and would ask you of this first if I may as we think upon our price?"
Yusdrayl We are adventurers and the only payment we seek is for you to sing songs in our names of the glorious deeds we do do and pass these on to any one you meet. I’m more than happy for you to embellish and describe us a slightly taller and more handsome.. (he winks)
however if you do have anything you can give us that you feel will increase our chances of success for our common goal, should that be weapons, armour, potions or knowledge we would gladly receive such an advantage.

13 steps forward to stand next to Notion and Eerie, "Yusdrayl, it is an honour to meet you. I agree with Notion, that any knowledge you can provide to us of this apple, the creatures that create it and how we can return your dragon would be very welcome. Your guards seem well prepared and alert, if you have anyone to spare who can accompany us, it would be gratefully accepted. I do have a questions however. How is it that your people and the goblins are able to occupy this citadel together? Do you have an agreement in place to sustain peace?
He then nods and steps back, waiting to be addressed.

Yusdraylconsiders you with detached interest and answers Notian’squestion of payment first: “I’m sure you understand that I cannot just hand out my tribe’s prized possessions on the promise of some future deed. But we are honest people, and would be happy to reward the return of our blessed Calcryx with an arcane artefact or two”
In response to Eerie’squestion about the apple and the outcast, she says “The Outcast, he lives below. He grows the fruit, which he gives to the goblins. The dragon-thieving goblins are his servants!”
To 13's question of assistance, Yusadryl declares "We cannot spare or risk our guards to attack the goblins. Maybe if you return Calcryx, we can mount a joint attack on the rest of the citadel"
@13:
You find the kobold inscrutable; maybe it's the difference in your physiologies, or your inexperience in analysing wholly-organic creatures, but you cannot read her.
Eerie bows slightly again and addresses Yusdrayl. "You are wise and are spoken of highly by your people," nodding towards Meepo. "May we leave it to you to judge what supplies you may have that you may spare to improve our chances of success in rescuing Calcryx from the hands of these thieving Goblins? The artifacts of which you speak are interesting as reward. May I ask what you offer?"
Foxford drew in a large puff of his cigar and let it go as diplomacy was being had with the kobolds. He wasn't great at talking fancy like it seemed the others were. He liked things simple, or messy, it seemed a lot of his dealings ended up going more towards the messy side.
Carric's brow wrinkles as the kobold leader explains more. "This Outcast you mention," he asks, "can you describe him? Does he grow a great deal of this fruit?"
"The rewards I can offer you include scrolls of armour, unlocking and climbing, an ‘immediate tree’ and this key to the sealed south wing of the citadel” says Yusdrayl, indicating the key within the stone dragon’s mouth above her head. “You may choose two of these items if you return Calcryx”.
“And upon the safe return of our dragon, in addition to your reward, I shall despatch four of my finest fighters to assist you in locating and defeating the Outcast. As to the man himself, all I know is what Meepo has likely already told you; that he lives in the lower level of this citadel and employs the goblins as his personal army. The apples that you speak of, they grow but two each year; one of healing and one of ill”
To 13’s question of the goblin and kobold co-existence, she says “It is more an uneasy agreement that neither can defeat the other, than any kind of pact. I have no doubt that if they could find a way to clear us from the citadel they would; I most certainly would relish the chance to vanquish them from this place and claim it for my tribe”
Eerie bows gently to Yusdrayl,"With your leave?"Then with any show of acknowledgement from her backs away respectfully and turns to the others. "Then no time like the present my friends? Off we go to release the beloved Calcryx from these thieving goblins? Meepo, may you join us?"
Foxford shrugged, "I'm ready now, but if you need a rest..." he let out another large puff of cigar smoke. His cigar was nearly gone at this point, only a small nub remained.
As soon as the words finish coming out of Foxfords mouth Notian collapses into the floor, like a dress sliding down a mannequin. The faint sound of snoring and lullabies could be heard from the now sleeping Dragonborn. Hopefully entering into a long rest to ready himself for battles to come.
Foxford's upward tilted head, releasing smoke from his last puff, shows visible surprise as Notian collapses so quickly. His eyebrows raise and his eyes dart to the rest of the party, begging for explanation, but also accepting if there was none.
Carric raises his eyebrows at the bard's sudden collapse, but it was clear he was only sleeping.
"I have no need for rest now," he says. "But I suppose we can wait for him." With that, he looks for a spot in the corner, sits cross-legged, closes his eyes, and sits very, very still.
"I will also rest, we had a couple of skirmishes before you arrived"
13 stands with his back to the wall, lowers his head and stands motionless. Although resting he is still perceptive of everything that is going on around him.
"Well it's a might bit weird doing it here in front of everyone but..." Foxford wasn't the least bit tired, but he took his own spot against a wall and slid down into a seated position. He pulled out a ration and began to put bits of it in his mouth, chewing slowly.
(OOC: OK then, that's a long rest I guess! Please process the rest before proceeding)
@13:
As you stay alert during your sentry mode, it is clear that the kobolds are bemused at the group's impromptu camping in their hall. Nonetheless, they continue their patrolling, and around six hours into the rest Yusdrayl departs for her chambers. She is escorted by her guards and casts a sideways glance at the dozing adventurers.
@Everyone:
When you rouse from your rest, Meepois standing nearby waiting. As soon as you start to stir he leaps into action, helping to pack up gear and speaking at a rate of knots "We can get going now, all refreshed! Meepo show you the back way to bad goblin lair"
He scurries off back the way you came and you could easily keep up if it weren't for your lack of knowledge of the planned route. Once you are back at the cage room where you first met Meepo, he takes the northeast door and leads you down a narrow corridor. You notice at this point that he has stopped shouting his little codeword; seeing that you have spotted this, he shrugs "No fast guards from here"
You reach a square room, an empty chamber home only to stains and rat droppings.

Foxford yawned, though he hadn't intended it he had caught himself napping a few times and ultimately had drifted off to sleep until one of the Kobolds tripped over his boot and woke him up. "This is a nice empty room" Foxford said he looked around. His cigar was back in his mouth, having only been removed and extinguished while he was asleep.

Eerie will take advantage of the long rest as well, putting her at full spell slots again. She will let the squirrel out but encourage it to stay very close, lest the guards think of it as food. Prior to her rest she will cast Goodberry5 berries (or does dm allow 10 berries - spell says up to but I'm not sure if that's random or my choice) and eat one herself offering one to the others as it satisfies a days rations should they wish to save their rations. She then shares some more small portions of her own rations with the squirrel. (DM - Im still using the same day's rations as she is not eating them herself but giving to the squirrel in bits). She will also examine the jade figurines that she is carrying for the group, inspecting craftsmanship and markings. With 13s acceptance, she will rest near the alert warrior trusting in his guard, the curl up tight in her bedroll using her pack for a pillow.
(can't think of a name for the little squirrel guy/girl, happy for suggestions)
Following their rest, she will gather her things up quickly, glance around for the squirrel to be sure it is still with her and trot off quickly after Meepo. perception check 16(passive 12),Investigation check 9(passive 13). "I wonder where the rats have gone?"

Let’s go emancipate a dragon! Perhaps yogurts thing after a long rest though as I’m exhausted and would like to be fresh for battle?
