So the arch-hag has a variety of ways to curse its enemies.
Crackling Wave curses targets until the end of the hag's next turn.
Tongue Twister curses its target until the end of the target's next turn.
Spiteful Escape curses targets … forever?
When the hag teleports away, each creature within 60 feet of the space it left is cursed. Until the curse ends, a creature has Disadvantage on ability checks and saving throws, and the hag knows its location anywhere in the multiverse.
Some game effects curse a creature or an object. The effect that confers a curse defines what the curse does. Curses can be removed by the Remove Curse and Greater Restoration spells or other magic that explicitly ends curses.
It's just interesting to me that this curse was presented without any other expiration condition. The PCs may not even know they're cursed until the arch-hag comes back and uses Witch Strike on them.

Well, "Until the curse ends, a creature has Disadvantage on ability checks and saving throws, and the hag knows its location anywhere in the multiverse."
So the character will notice something related to the curse.
Regarding the expiration condition, I'd say that's part of the intended mystery behind the trait.
Same issue with Blue and Red Slaadi. They both curse you until you remove the curse. The Red Slaadi puts a tadpole which kills you when it hatches in 2d4 x 10 days. The Blue Slaadi curses you to lose 3d6 hit points from your maximum every 24 hours and you can't regain hit points. Both fun for the DM. Remove Curse is relatively easy to come by when you are encountering them, though.
