I have been playing dnd for over a year, and have dived in headfirst with playing, DMing, and DndBeyond surfing. However, I don’t know very much about the story behind my game setting, the Forgotten Realms. What books are the best for understanding this fabulous world, particularly the sword coast and its major locations and key players in history?
(I already have the guide to the sword coast, I’m looking for novels and stories. For example, who is Drizzt?)
The Legend of Drizzt by R. A. Salvatore covers a lot of FR history. Also, check out the Forgotten Realms Wiki. It covers everything in the Realms (characters, places, history, etc.), and I use it all the time.
