Dorian Medyved was born a bastard of House Medyved, the son of Lord Gurev and an unknown elven servant. Despite the scandal, Lord Gurev took him in and legitimized him. From childhood, Dorian was adventurous, dreaming of glory. His first taste of it came as a teenager when he won a prestigious horse race against other nobles.
But he was different. Magic surged in his blood, uncontrolled and feared by those around him. Seeking answers, he turned to a mysterious woman in the deep woods—only to discover she was a hag. She offered him control over his power in exchange for a single memory. Desperate, he agreed.
He gained what he wanted: control over his magic. But when he returned home, he realized the cost—she hadn’t taken his memories but the world’s memory of him! His father, his friends—none recognized him. When he tried to convince them, he was thrown in prison for impersonating nobility.
Cast out and forgotten, Dorian swore to carve his name into history so deeply that none could erase it again. He would become a legend. And one day, he would find the hag—and make her restore what she had stolen.
Half-Elven Sorcerer /Paladin of Glory. Starting at Level 1. Would like any pointer and/or tips. also, is this too edgy? I was planning on playing him a bit naive, but well-meaning.

Nah sounds good, not edgy at all.
Only issue I have is that the Hag did not steal anything, your character simply bartered something he did not fully understand.

Thats a good point and I need to keep that in mind. I guess maybe my character could see it this way. though.

Oh yeah the character should definitely see it as him being stolen from at least in the start, would go with his naivety and could tie into an arc of him coming to an understanding that it is best not to make deals unless you fully understand what you are giving up.
Thats the fun thing with Hags and Devils, they usually keep their part of the deal relying more on the ignorance and naivety of the other party to not really understand what they are asking for or what they are giving up.
What exactly do you mean by "hag"? It's kind of a generic word. Do you mean Fae or Witch?
There is a creature type known as a Hag, or rather there are variants of Hag creatures. In the 2024 Monster Manual 3 of the types are Fey and one is a Fiend type. They're all generally what traditional folklore would consider "witches."
There are multiple different types of hags and green hag is just one of them, but basically they are based off the witches you would find in old Germanic fairy tales, think magical creatures that resemble gnarled old women often known for making deals with an ironic twist that often ends up being more than what the person they are dealing with bargained for. Look up Baba Yaga for a good example.
But yeah most of them are considered to be fae creatures and do resemble witches.

In this context we are using it to refer to a specific creature in D&D lore

Oh cool thanks for the explanation!
