So if I use the Longsword, and don’t take GWM at 6, what feat should I take instead? I’ll take a double strength ASI at 4. I used point buy for 16 str, 14 dex, 14 con, 10 int, 13 wis, and 12 cha.
What’s your role in the party (in fights in particular)? Could you use some mobility from something like fey touched (with a wis boost) throw in hex for a nice little damage boost? Sentinel can help you protect squishy allies. Resilient wis can help you not get charmed. Slasher can be useful, and set you up for another half feat down the line. There’s lots of other options depending on what you do, and what you want to do.
I am the only martial, playing with a Shepard Druid, Draconic Sorcerer, Armorer Artificer, and a wizard. I don’t have Tasha’s so what exactly does slasher do?

Is the Armorer playing as a Skirmisher or as the punchy version? If they’re playing a skirmisher I would focus more on a tank build than a damage build for your character since the other PCs should all be able to dish out plenty of damage, but your team needs an anchor to hold the line.

I don’t think that the Armorer got their subclass yet, they are level 2. Many of our combat encounters are very chaotic and disorganized because the wizard, who was monk before he died, has very little concept of strategy. I have been the main dps in all of the compact so far.

Slasher is a useful half feat, nice but not great. The big boost is too rare and the slow down on a hit is really too small. The full feat is below. It sounds like the team needs to take a minute to organize and discuss some tactical plans - who has what cantrips, what spells, how many slots, AC etc and get a Standard operating Procedure organized as well as a marching order so it’s a little less chaotic. As for other feats, sentinel or shield master are probably your best ones to grab for your position.
Slasher
You’ve learned where to cut to have the greatest results, granting you the following benefits:
Increase your Strength or Dexterity by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Once per turn when you hit a creature with an attack that deals slashing damage, you can reduce the speed of the target by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.
When you score a critical hit that deals slashing damage to a creature, you grievously wound it. Until the start of your next turn, the target has disadvantage on all attack rolls.

That’s unfortunate.
