GoodBovineYou just insulted every barbarian with magic initiate who thinks they are an archmage. But no-one. Just wait until that fighter gets a hand crossbow, crossbow expert and sharpshooter (plus elven accuracy if you can be bothered). I am pretty sure that is still the highest DPR for a fighter if I am not mistaken...
Holy crap. That is insane. I was just focusing on generic but wow.
I was into optimizing a while back 😅
Don't forget to take Fey Touched to get Hex or Hunter's Mark ;)

2 levels of artificier so you can have auto reloading crossbows that dont need ammo

You can use a weapon that has the ammunition property to make a ranged attack only if you have ammunition to fire from the weapon. Each time you attack with the weapon, you expend one piece of ammunition. Drawing the ammunition from a quiver, case, or other container is part of the attack (you need a free hand to load a one-handed weapon). actually it doesn’t.
you still have to load ammo in the weapon but it doesn’t take an extra action.
Repeating Shot
Item: A simple or martial weapon with the ammunition property (requires attunement)
This magic weapon grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it when it’s used to make a ranged attack, and it ignores the loading property if it has it.
If you load no ammunition in the weapon, it produces its own, automatically creating one piece of magic ammunition when you make a ranged attack with it. The ammunition created by the weapon vanishes the instant after it hits or misses a target.
if you want to be silly and have a hand crossbow or gun in each hand
For anyone who doesn't watch them, in the latest Dev update this UA was under the soon category which they said would be stuff out in the next week or now. However, they specifically went through each one expect for this UA so mixed messages if you ask me.

I know they have a couple separate videos regarding this UA so it could be since they have that content they didn't cover it in the video. I'm speculating but it would make sense. I ran my UA dragonborn this last weekend and it was tough but not impossible without the site updates. Just needed to have a physical copy of the UA in front of me to remind me what I could do.
I gave one of my players the option to "evolve" her Dragonborn too and it's not been a problem, and she and the party like the buffed breath weapon (we largely do theater of the mind so we negotiate how many adversaries she can "stack" for a breath attack, I don't play my adversaries stupid so it's not a game breaker). She knows and I have how these Dragonborn work in my notes. Sure I'd like to make it "more real" by having it on a character sheet, but I don't think any of these options _require_ DDB to implement them for players to use them. It would be cool though.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
I agree with this so far as chromatics are concerns, but metallic and gem dragonborn are a bit more different or completely new. Not to mention kobolds. I'm playing a gem dragonborn starting new week and I'm having to make a private homebrew that covers me until then (since they seem to have been removing the public ones that copy the UA too).

I'm going to start sounding like a broken record but https://www.dndbeyond.com/feats/gunner gives you the same for guns, without having to multiclass.

You'd need two artificers for that, as you can only put Repeating Shot on a single weapon.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Well poop!
I’m interested in when this UA will be available on dndbeyond.
^^^ This ^^^ Does anyone know when we can start applying this to our characters?
If you want sugar coating, go buy a dessert....
People have been asking that something like three times a day all week. We don't know any more than we knew Monday.

At this stage, I take it as a blessing that people aren't asking about the CFVs UA anymore...

Am I right in reading that these dragonborn no longer have darkvision? Hadn't noticed until just now
The PHB Dragonborn didn’t have Darkvision either. Only the Wildemount Dragonborns have it.

RoughCoronet's Greater Wills
Kinda glad they don't....just have so much stuff going for them already.
Man the power creep on these new races is real...first we get the flight races with more great stuff then we get a dragonborn with a ton of stuff.
I am glad we get them but the PHB races are so much less interesting in comparison lol
Does anyone know when this is actually going to come out on the character builder?
We know precisely as much as we knew the last dozen times someone asked.
