You could buy the individual races in the “other purchase options” section. I feel bad for anyone who just purchased the races with them being released free like an hour later.
Whoa whoa whoa, what? Kind of shitty that the DDB description doesn't inform you that it's playtest content, you have to buy it to read the intro where it says so?
All of the material here is presented for playtesting and to spark your imagination. The game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by final game design and editing. They aren’t officially part of the game and aren’t permitted in D&D Adventurers League events. If Wizards of the Coast decides to make this material official, it will be refined based on your feedback and then appear in a D&D book.
So, FYI for anyone who doesn't want to get screwed like I just did. Might be a good idea to put a PLAYTEST CONTENT note on the DDB purchase page? Or do we get free updates should WOTC publish it officially?

Damn, that does suck....Normally that doesn't seem like a D&D Beyond move, maybe there's some reasoning behind it, or they didn't know the extent of the UA article for today?

Just feel like if something is playtest content, if you're going to ask for money for it, it should at least be labelled playtest. :/

Oh, I 100% agree!! Especially since they've always added playtest material as 100% free.
I mean, I was going to buy it regardless. There’s a lot in this content in addition to the new races. I’m more disappointed that it’s not official than that I paid for it.
@MellieDM, Yup just went over the marketplace entry again, NOWHERE does it state that it is playtest material.
I was expecting better from DNDBeyond than a simple money grab.
Yeah, pretty disappointed, and hoping it was just a mistake. It doesn't state it in the DM's Guild entry either, looking at it now, but you CAN preview the introduction, and see the statement, or look at the comments and see people discussing it. Whereas on DDB, you just see what they have chosen to enter into the description, which doesn't include any notation that the content is playtest.
Though they don't offer refunds on digital products, I hope they will consider refund requests for this, as they have seriously tricked and bamboozled their customers. :/
Of course, being "playtest content" that you have paid for, I'm guessing it's safe to assume that it's your's to keep, and will be updated as further revisions and such happen to it. So, it's probably more like a preorder with immediate access to content.

Indeed, it is so.

Agreed I feel a little bit like I fell for a bait and switch.
