Since this webpage is fully dedicated to D&D 5th ed., I'm a bit curious to know if any day it could be posssible to print the custom charactersheet including background pics owned by this website. I mean, I know when I click on the [ PRINT CHARACTERSHEET ] option, the personalised background image and/or the diferent lettertype [Arial, Fonts True type, etcetcetc] won't be shown on the paper, or am I wrong ???
If it could be possible, can any anyone tell when it gonna be available ???
This website *can* create PDF documents of your character, but they are designed to look almost identical to the character sheets you can download on the official websites.
If you have a program that can manipulate PDFs, you can make changes, but the default flavor is 'vanilla'.

I can tell you with confidence, that will never be available.

This makes me sad. All the custom themes and backgrounds that DNDBeyond keeps giving me are useless to me when I play at a table with pen 'n' paper.

Even when I play in-person, at a table, with 'pen-and-paper', my character sheet is on a tablet ;)
I just like the digital toolset too much to not use it.
That is the primary (but not only) goal of DDB; a digital toolset, not something to use for creating a character and nothing else. DDB wants you to use it for gameplay, too.
Also, DDB can only do what (Hasbro/)WotC officially allows. For print, the standard character sheets are in the sourcebooks, and that's what DDB must use for print options. WotC allows a digital toolset but doesn't have anything to set a specific format of displaying the information; only print. While a PDF is merely a portable document with optional interactive features, it is often considered as print if no interactive features are embedded. Interactive features require one to use a digital device, but then, that's when DDB and its apps are intended for use.
Unless WotC gives allowance for officially-sanctioned toolsets to provide custom-designed printed character sheets, DDB will only be able to provide the standard format found in the sources.
That's also not considering the workload to make it happen. PrtScn of a web page isn't gonna cut it. Modular designs on print is possibly as taxing as it is to create a complete toolset.
Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
I appreciate your awareness that posts from non-staff forum members may not necessarily be accurate, particularly about business decisions. The challenge is that much of what EricHVela shared is “documented” in Dev Update videos and the like, which are hard to cite, and hard to verify. I went looking for a page on this website that would establish verify much of what I’m about to reiterate, but didn’t find one. A point that I hope DDB staff notice and address.
That said—and realizing that you likely have no more reason to trust me than to trust EricHVela—here’s what I’ve heard over the years from official DDB videos and interviews with staff about DDB, that is relevant to your question:
-DDB was designed from the beginning to be a digital tool set for use around the table for in-person games. This has since changed/expanded to include on-line games, but the original focus was for in-person games.
-There was initially no plan for an exportable PDF, but it was highly requested, and added due to community request.
In terms of the work involved in extending pdf capabilities to include custom items, I know nothing; I’m not a developer, and I don’t remember anything being said in that regard in Dev Updates.
-DDB staff (including the co-founder and former public face of DDB, Adam Bradford) hav repeatedly indicated that they are constrained by their contract with WOTC and simply cannot do certain things customers have asked for. (e.g. homebrew mundane weapons/changing weapon dice; although I believe WOTC has now relented on that, but DDB hasn’t had time to address). I do not know/remember if pdf formats were one of those things. My memory leans more toward Adam saying that they had other things that were higher priority for them than additional/more customizable PDFs.
