I've been playing with the campaign and encounter system to learn how to take advantage of it. I created a campaign and added a couple of (my own) characters to it. Then I created an encounter. The encounter shows as being part of the campaign, but I can't find it anywhere in the campaign page. I have to go to the Campaigns collection to find it.
When I run an encounter, it shows me a generic list of "players" instead of the list of player characters active in the campaign. How do I link them in the encounter?
When it's the monsters turn how do I pick it's target for attack rolls?
Is there a way to do opposed skill rolls with encounters instead of just combat? Like deception vs persuasion or insight?
Anywhere I can find a roadmap on when the Encounters will come out of beta?
Once you ahve a campaign set up with PC's active in it, you can pick that campaign from the character options list in Encounter Builder. There isn't (to my knowledge) a link directly in the campaign screens to take you there. You go through the Encounter Builder and when running the campaign itself, you can filter the encounters by active campaign. That will populate the characters into the encounter instead of the generic ones.
A note, you will need to change the characters out then back in when they level, to reflect their new stats and such in measuring the encounter. It's been a bit, but I THINK they finally got the player HP working in it, too.

The campaigns here don’t really do all that. The monsters don’t actually target the PCs, damage doesn’t get dealt, etc. you have to do all that stuff verbally and track everything manually.

Thanks! That worked in testing. Now to figure out how to pick targets.
