DDB is doing a lot of things that were once thought to be impossible, such as third party content. So you may one day get your wish, though it would be best if you look for alternatives while you wait.
Doing so would be about as much work as making the site in the first place. Since they don't sell the old versions any more, there's no reason for them to do it.

While I concur that the amount of work makes it infeasible (especially for any edition before 4th which are either incredibly more granular and complicated, or so open ended as to make a digital toolset pointless), it's not actually true they don't see the old versions anymore. All previous WotC D&D books are available as PDFs over on the DMs Guild. I've picked up a lot of 4th edition stuff from there, as well as some 3.5 and even 2nd.
i think it would be grand if D&D beyond would make it so we could play older versions (1st ed. 2nd ed, 3.5, original d&d)
There are a ton of fan based material for 1e, among others. I know of freeware, built by fans and coders, that have created char builders and combat simulators, among other things. I am working on a random dungeon generator, more off than on. Look up on You Tube AD&D 1e, see what pops up, and follow that to a Discord channel that has a lot of AD&D'ers in it.
Similarly to how they won’t implement a way to use different versions of statblocks (2024 PHB tiger vs 2024 MM Tiger for instance), a way to choose 2014 lances instead of 2024 lances (d12 vs d10), or even give druids a place on their character sheet to track their known wildshapes with the correct AC.
If you just want the builder, there was a Core Rules character generation program that was offered. I haven't checked Rolll20 or any of the others to see what they support.

While i wish they would. They won't they simply do not have the Development staff to do so.

Unfortunately it won’t happen.
