You don't need to change anything, it has the thrown property meaning it can be thrown, as a finesse weapon it uses dex or str, depending on character build. it has a standard distance of 20 and then beyond that with disadvantage to a max of 60. You as the player decide if you will throw it or not.
That's because the sheet assumes you're going to stab with it. I don't think that's a setting you can change. Just know that you get +2 damage on a hit and you can draw as part of your attack action. Technically, if you can load it into a catapult and throw it, you also get the +2 damage.
The easiest thing you can do is to add another dagger to your character sheet in a container named “🚫Convenience Hacks,” that emoji will ensure it stays hidden and out of the way all the way at the bottom of your inventory list. You can copy/paste it directly from this post if you need to. Simply Customize the dagger by changing the name to “Dagger (Thrown)” and add the additional +2 damage bonus to it. You can then equip that dagger and it will automatically populate in your Actions section. As long as you never equip that container, its weight and the weight of its contents will not get calculated into your encumbrance.
You could do that, but then there’s still a superfluous dagger shown in inventory. I use the convente hacks container for other stuff too, like Sharpshooter/Great-Weapon Master, etc. It’s very handy.

Oh I picked up thrown weapon fighting and it doesn't take it into account and was hoping it was an option.

Is that a new fighting style or feat, I can't seem to find it when I search. I'm not completely up to date with the books.
It came out in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything as an optional fighting style for fighters.
Strange, I have that, I'll have another look
So, interestingly, even though I TCoE on here. When I use the search bar for Thrown Weapon Fighting, it does not find it.

I was going to say similar, Sposta, but instead of the container just type 0 in the weight override so it doesn’t add encumbrance.
