We have some internal Slack stuff going on, where the players can type as their characters in some of our campaigns and I as the DM can type as any NPC, etc.
We just have that for fun for our use. What would people like to see out of integration if we did something publicly?
I think partially the question is, why is there a place for Slack handles in the profile section? Is it just because Slack is popular? Not that I have a problem with Slack, I have it for work, so now I have a personal account.

Fantasy Grounds Ultimate License holder, so anyone can play in my games! I've been playing RPGs for around 20 years now and have never looked back. I've played Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Dungeons & Dragons 2nd & 4th Edition, Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun 2nd & 5th Edition, Tales of the Floating Vagabond, Pendragon 4th Edition, Pathfinder, Warhammer FRPG 2nd Edition, Star Wars D6/d20/Saga/FFG, Robotech (Palladium), and various other homemade systems.

So are you guys using slack in place of Discord/Skype/etc? That could be interesting to make an integrated utility to speed up pbp.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.

We have Slack handles in the profile section because other Curse sites do - many of those have special channels where the community can join to chat and have access to the moderators and devs.
We haven't gotten around to that with DDB yet, but we've been kicking around some ideas. Would anyone like to have a channel on Slack/ Discord/ Twitch App to get access to the devs?
How does that work? While i can see the appeal, i can also see the downside to that. I can imagine the poor Devs getting bombarded with endless questions/suggestions/requests.

I’m sure plenty of people here would love to get that sort of access, but I pity whoever you put on the job of monitoring/replying there. Us forum regulars know the frequency of the same few questions/complaints. If I’m being honest, I think your team is available enough here.

Slack seems like a versatile tool, and surprisingly more performing than Discord (to my view at least, haven't really deep dived in either).
Some integration with DDB would be indeed nice and potentially extremely useful for online play, like possibility of calling up tooltips from the site (same way as we do here on the forum) and a clear and easy way to distinguish in-character and out of character messages (for PbP) could be really useful already (I have no idea how easy or difficult these things might be, I am genuinely an illiterate when it comes to coding), so that definitely gets my vote.
As per the direct line with the devs, as much as I would LOVE that, I agree with Cee and JDBauschthat it could quickly become a nightmare for whoever has to deal with it on your side. Should there be a closed group of users having access to it (like the ones having a Master Tier subscription, for example [just throwing ideas, I do not mean to sound elitist]), that could probably be mora manageable.

If using slack/discord channel is easier for you (Devs) then go for it. Otherwise I don't think we need that level of access. Keeping it restricted to the forums is a good approach. There would be a worse case scenario where the loud minority would overrun the channels with complaints and critiques and it would become toxic pretty quick.
But, I may be wrong (hopefully) and it would be an amazing way for the community to collaborate with the developers
And on that topic, maybe the Mods are the ones who need the discord Access. They already do a hell of a job to try and keep everyone updated. If they happen to see something they could be the go between (or gate keepers).

If there was a discord channel available, I would definitely be interested in participating! Seeing as how the AL utilizes that service, it would make sense to establish a presence for DDB users.
I would love a Slack/Discord channel to discuss things and offer feedback. It would probably be easier for some of us than posting on the various feedback forums.
I myself do not see a need for anything like that, I would like to see the forums cleaned up of all the really old stuff that I dont think anyone ever reads. I also think those threads that started six months ago locked or marked resolved and locked as folks keep digging them up and asking is this fixed yet.
To be clear, no one on the dev team would be chained to the desk forced to pay attention to the chat. :)
Just as with the forums here, the idea would be we would engage when we're able to.
This is all an honest attempt to gauge interest and not indicative of any future plans yet.
Thanks!
One thing I would be very interested in (although I don't know how do-able it even is) would be some sort of onenote.com integration.
I've recently migrated the main campaign I DM to online onenote, and it is pretty great. I've never really worked with it until now, but the way it lays everything out AND handles just about anything you throw at it (text, images, drawings, etc.) is pretty damn slick. What I've done is create links in my onenote to relevant DnDBeyond.com content. What would be really cool would be if I could get this kind of functionality in onenote.
Again, I don't have any idea if this could be done with onenote (much less online) but it would be really great, at least until DnDBeyond gets a full blown campaign manager, if that ever happens.

I see! I think something like a Twitch App chat would work well, especially if there is going to be Twitch integration in the future. While your other products have Slack connections, I think keeping in line with the business path for DDB would probably be the best way to go, because people may end up wanting Steam chat, Flock, and dozens more. But, that's just my opinion.

I would like to see what you guys have done. I've been using Slack for work and one of the guys is a fellow player in a campaign and we started messing around on how to use Slack to organize and play. While we were chatting it seemed that something like DnDBeyond would be useful to have as one of the integrated apps for referencing. So I thought I'd ask.

It was a simple slash command to toggle on "in character" mode, so whatever you typed would appear as if it was coming from your character. As the DM, I could do something like "/ontharfrume [Insert message here]" to speak in that NPCs voice. We also had skills and attacks integrated into a dice roller. A sample:
Any chance of something like that happening?
