My tomelock uses shillelagh with charisma as the casting stat on a quarterstaff as his main melee weapon. I was able to make a custom action that used charisma and did 1d8 damage - no problem. Now he has found a +1 quarterstaff though, and I can't find a way to replicate that. I can give it +1 damage through the custom action but can't seem to give +1 to attack on the custom action. I am also completely failing to make a homebrew magic item that works correctly (charisma for hit and damage modifiers because shillelagh, +1 to hit and +1 to damage because it's a +1 weapon, 1d8 base damage because shillelagh). Any advice or example homebrew items that work?
Oh, and I should have mentioned we're using roll20 and beyond20, so my goal is to get an action in dndbeyond that accurately reflects a shillelagh attack with the +1 staff so that I can get the handy little one-click attack using beyond20.

Just make a custom action directly on the character sheet with the appropriate damage and modifier.

thanks!
I originally said Shillelagh doesn't work with magic items, but that was wrong.
How interesting. Most spells of this type only work on non-magic.
You should end up with mods from your spellcasting.

The spell description says, "The weapon also becomes magical, if it isn't already." I think that implies that it would still work on magical weapons.
