So I'm working on porting over my 5e scifi game to Dndbeyond and struggling with how to implement scifi weapons in the system. I don't want to just reskin existing weapons for the system, I really want to make them functional, but I'm not sure how to build them with existing item creation.
As an example, this game has a phaser, which is a 2d4 radiant damage weapon. This weapon uses Dexterity modifier for its attack rolls, but doesn't add the dex mod to damage rolls.
How would I build such a magic item in this system?

You cannot. Currently we can only use regular base weapons as bases for magic items, and we cannot create Homebrew base equipment at this time.
