Im trying to use a feat that grants an amount of points available to spend, NOT like the lucky feat, in that is equal to the players proficiency modifier. in the limited use section i can only make it a set number of uses, rather than pair it with prof mod. is there a way to do this?
How I would do it is adding a Limited Use to the feat at certain levels. In other words, since the proficiency bonus to characters level one through four is 2, create a limited use feature with 2 uses. Then create another limited use feature at level five and set the uses to 3, then at level nine set it to 4, then at level thirteen set it to 5, then at seventeen set it to 6.
Now what I will actually tell you is I'm not too certain of how the limited use feature stacks up. In otherwords, I don't know if you set the level five use to 3, would that add 3 to the already given 2 for a total of 5? I know that's not what you want to do, so if you do that and it adds it up do the following:
Change each upgraded limited use feature to 1. That way it just adds together. So at level one through four, you will have 2, then at five it gives you 1 for a total of 3 uses. So on and so forth.
If you do this, can you let me know which method works for you? If they stack or reset? Or maybe a moderator will post in here explaining before either of us have time to attempt it.
So I made lvl 1 limited use set to 2 points and set a separate lvl 5 limited use to 3, like you suggest, and they don't stack up. At lvl 5 is just the 3 points. So that works perfectly. Thanks for the idea!

Awesome! I'm glad it was able to be resolved! And now that I know that's how the limited use abilites work, I can make sure to work them in that way for all my homebrew stuff. You scratch my back, I scratch yours lol.
