Depending on the type of game you're running, it can be very fun to drop something into the game that the players can recognize as a reference to a specific thing in our world, while the characters just treat is as another bit of wacky magic or whatever. I'm going to use this thread to share some of the ones I've created for my own campaign, and the things they reference -- feel free to add your own

The Gritty
You have made a pact with a strange creature who roams the Planes, sewing chaos and madness wherever it goes. This entity is known by many names, but is most commonly called Gritty for reasons which have been lost to antiquity. In some realities, Gritty is a dread god of destruction; in others, he is the mascot for a sports team, with many guises in between. Gritty's reasons for choosing you as its agent in this world are mysterious, but it is typically drawn to beings who already shade towards chaotic, or who can be swayed to the cause of chaos. By granting you but a small fraction of its power, Gritty hopes that more chaos will be created in your wake.
Expanded Spell List
1st-level Gritty feature
Gritty lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
You manifest an aspect of your patron’s incomprehensible power. As a bonus action, you transform for 1 minute. You gain the following benefits while transformed:
You gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage.
Once during each of your turns, when you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can cause it to teleport to a random unoccupied space. Roll a d8 to determine the direction of the teleport (1 = north, 2 = north-east, 3= east etc.) and a d3 to determine distance (multiplying the roll by 10 feet). If the space determined by the rolls is occupied, you instead choose any unoccupied space within 30 feet of their original location.
You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Your appearance as an Avatar of Chaos reflects some aspect of your patron. For example, you could become covered in orange fur, or your head might swell to grotesque dimensions while your eyes become googly, suggesting your connection to Gritty.
Entropic Vortex
6th-level Gritty feature
Gritty's affinity for chaos can alter probabilities in unusual ways.
Whenever you make, or are the target, of an attack roll, saving throw or ability check, as a reaction you may elect to turn a success into a failure or a failure into a success after the roll is made but before the results are determined. If you use this ability to your benefit (i.e. allowing you to succeed on a saving throw instead of fail, or making a target of your spell fail their saving throw instead of succeed), the next time you make a roll of the same type, you have disadvantage on the roll. If you use this ability to your detriment (missing on an attack roll instead of hitting, for instance), you gain advantage on the next roll you make of the same type. The DM is the final arbiter of whether your use of Entropic Vortex was to your benefit or detriment.
You may use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, regaining all uses on a long rest.
Unleash Discord
10th-level Gritty feature
Your connection to Gritty grows stronger, and your resemblance to the strange creature becomes more disturbing and permanent. You gain advantage on Intimidation checks. You also have resistance to psychic damage. If you are transformed using your Avatar of Chaos feature, you instead become immune to psychic damage.
In addition, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to drop to 1 hit point instead and cause your body to erupt with waves of chaos. Each creature within 30 feet of you teleports in a random direction, as per your Avatar of Chaos feature. Determine the destinations of all creatures simultaneously -- if a creature end up being teleported into an occupied space, even if as a result of two or more creatures teleporting to the same space, that creature takes 3d8 force damage and teleports to the nearest unoccupied space in the direction of their original location instead of you choosing their destination. If a creature teleports into your space, you are immune to this damage.
You may use this ability once per long rest.
Chaos Eruption
14th-level Gritty feature
When you activate your Avatar of Chaos feature, it lasts for 10 minutes, and your resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage also applies to magical sources. While it is active, as a reaction you may attempt to teleport a creature that does damage to you. The creature makes a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. If they fail, you teleport them to an unoccupied space of your choosing within 60 feet of their original location. You may also use any one of your Mystic Arcanum spells an additional time without expending a spell slot.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

I made an entire arsenal of superhero magic items but never bothered to put them on DDB. Here's an example:
Armor of the Darkest Knight
This suit of darkened leather is emblazoned with a stylized bat, and functions as mithral plate armor. When you wear this magical armor in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn.
Belt of Utility
This metal belt functions functions as a bag of holding. As a bonus action, you can speak the belt's command word causing the belt to magically seal shut. It remains sealed until you use an action to speak the command word again. The belt typically contains the following items:
1 vial of antitoxin
1 bag of caltrops
1 climber's kit
1d4 - 1 packets of dust of disappearance
1 grappling hook
1 healer's kit
1 jar of Keoghtom's ointment
1 set of manacles
100 feet of rope
1d4 - 1 tangler grenades
1 thieves' tools
3 empty vials
A creature that spends 1 minute holding the belt of utility while trying to open it can make a DC 20 Dexterity check using thieves' tools. If the check succeeds, the creature can force the belt open. If the check fails by 5 or more, the creature must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Throwing Bats. As an action, you can pull up to three +1 daggers from the belt and immediately hurl them, making a ranged attack with each dagger. These magical daggers have a range of 60/120 feet when thrown. A dagger returns to your hand immediately after it is used to make a ranged attack. When you hit a creature with an attack using a throwing bat, you can choose for the throwing bat to deal no damage and cause the target to become restrained. When you use a dagger in this way, it does not return to your hand. As an action, a creature can try to free itself or another creature within its reach from the dagger, doing so with a successful DC 12 Strength (Athletics) check. The belt never runs out of daggers
This item appears to be a longsword hilt. While grasping the hilt, you can use a bonus action to cause a blade of pure radiance to spring into existence, or make the blade disappear. The sword's luminous blade emits bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. While the blade exists, this magic longsword has the finesse property. If you are proficient with shortswords or longswords, you are proficient with the saber of light.
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, which deals radiant damage instead of slashing damage. When you attack an object with this magic sword and hit, maximize your weapon damage dice against the target.
The saber has 5 charges for the following properties. The saber regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn.
Deflection. When a ranged attack hits you while you're holding the saber, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier, provided that the blade exists. If you reduce the damage to 0, you can expend 1 charge to make a ranged attack with the weapon or spell you just deflected, as part of the same reaction. You make this attack with proficiency, regardless of your weapon proficiencies, which has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.
Saber Throw. While attuned to it, you can expend 1 charge and make a ranged weapon attack with the saber, hurling it as if it had the thrown property with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet. After you throw it and it hits or misses, it flies back to your hand immediately.
This magical toy appears to be nothing more than a child's plaything, and is immune to bludgeoning damage. When the chicken would take bludgeoning damage, it emits a piercing sound that can be heard by any creature on the same plane of existence as the chicken, and each creature within 60 feet of the chicken that can hear it must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes thunder damage equal to twice the bludgeoning damage the chicken would have taken and is deafened for 1 minute. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much thunder damage and is not deafened.
