I've recently created some homebrew monsters, the Void Hound and the Auger, and I was looking to get some feedback. I didn't see any sort of commenting system on the homebrew creature page itself, so I'm making a thread here.
I'm mostly interested in getting you thoughts about the theme of the monsters, and then whether or not they are balanced to the set CR. The CR that I have them listed at is about what I had in mind when I made them, and I want to keep them at about that strength.
The void hound was made to be a boss at the end of a low level quest line. It's a stealthy hunter that is smart enough not to take fights that aren't in its favor. I also added some lair actions since the idea was that the party would track the monster back to it's cave and engage it there. There would be one or two of these in the cave, depending on how things went with the quest.
The auger was made to be more of a random encounter/ obstacle monster that a party of mid-level adventurers might encounter in a mountainous terrain. I had the Armored Destroyer demons from Diablo 3 in mind when I made them, which is where I got the divebomb ability from. There would usually be a handful of these that would drop in at various points in the encounter.
I appreciate any feedback you guys might have. I'm not that creative, so if these seem familiar too you I'm sure I was subconsciously thinking of other stuff when I made them. Nevertheless, let me know what you think!
The actual mechanics seem fine; an important thing to note about monster stats is how little fluff they have. The fluff is saved for the description while the stat block is all mechanics. Note for the Void Hound, the possessive version of "it" is "its" not "it's".

Ok, thanks! I do tend to add a lot of words where I don't need them. I'll keep that in mind when I make revisions. Thanks for the proof reading too!
