This is my first homebrew race, and I had a lot of fun writing it up, but I'd really appreciate some feedback so I can try and improve.
I just loved the idea of having a two-headed player character, but felt the ettin was too powerful to just copy/paste onto a character sheet. My goat with the ettin-kin was to take some of the cool flavourful elements of an ettin and tone it down to be a functioning player character. I decided to take a step back from the angry brute mentality, and instead make them more friendly and life-loving. Ultimately, even though they're related to ettin, I wanted them to be good guys.
As you are making a race called the ettin-kin people are expecting the ettin-kin to be reminiscent of ettins. So parts like Home is Where the Wind Sings and Big Belly, Big Heart feel out of place. I also feel like you touch only briefly on the issue that they have two personalities. That feels crucial to making the race stand out. Also, titles typically use Header 2.
Subraces. Why have subraces? When I think of an ettin-kin, I'm only thinking of one thing, no subraces are needed.
Ability Score Improvement. I would have a strength bonus, and nix the dexterity score decrease.
Alignment. I don't expect an ettin-kin to have a chaotic evil alignment, but I imagine at having two personalities would lend towards a chaotic alignment. Neutral good is a tad jarring.
Two Minds. Where's advantage on Perception checks? I think you could add advantage against being charmed and stunned. I also think you could add Wakeful as well.
Big Belly, Big Heart. Again, this doesn't line up with my expectations of an ettin-kin. If you want to keep it, I would change the name to Complementary Minds and give proficiency in a tool, allowing an ettin-kin to pick a musical instrument or cook's utensils.
