I'm trying to recreate the "Enhanced Weapon" infusion for a subclass-specific feature. I tried to simply add a "1" to the Fixed Value textbox while editing the action and that only adds +1 to the damage, not to the attack roll.
I thought to try out the "Level Overrides" at the bottom of the screen while editing the action and entered a "1" in that Fixed Value textbox, but as far as I can tell, that hasn't impacted anything (I'm not even sure that it did anything, which I found to be very weird).
I have tried adding Modifer: "Bonus - Magic - 1" and I haven't seen any effect from that either.
Am I missing something obvious, not giving the Homebrew enough time to load the updated material to my Test character, or is there no way to add a level-scaling modifier to both attack and damage rolls? Considering how easy it is to do so on magic items, I am annoyed to be struggling with this as much as I have been.
The Bonus->Magic Modifier Subtype only works on magic weapons.
Unfortunately the fixed value fields only work if you also use the dice type and die size fields too, so 1d6-+1 will work, but just the 1 won’t all by itself.
...are you serious? It's that easy? Man, talk about a MASSIVE face palm moment. I'm going to try that out now. Thank you so much, I'll let you know if that works (based off of how many of your posts I've read from others, I'm gonna guess that you just solved my problem though lol).
Hmmm…. What precisely are you trying to accomplish? Can you please post the text of your feature so I can understand it better? I ask because I might have misunderstood you the first time.
I am tweaking the armorer artificer and the action I'm trying to make is the Lightning Launcher. I want it to create the option to add a +1 to both the attack and the damage rolls and later have that bonus increase to +2
Okay then, for the damage roll you would do as I told you before and include the die roll with the fixed value for the level override. For the bonus to the attack roll you will have to list it in plain text and the players will have to modify the attack directly on their character sheets.
Damn! I was hoping that I wouldn't have to edit anything in the character sheet. There's no way of adding a bonus to attack rolls for subclass actions?
(I was hoping that I could recreate both of the Armorer's special weapons with the +1/+2 to attack and damage rolls from Enhanced Weapon baked in, because I am really picky about appearances and don't like the asterisk from customizing actions on my character sheet lol)

How would you apply that to the attack bonus? I'm guessing your 1d6 -+ 1 would work perfectly for the damage, but how would you add that to attack?

If it could have been done that way, DDB would have done it. Lol
