I am homebrewing a monster companion and I want to give it the ability to attempt to dodge ranged attacks by making a DEX saving throw. One a successful save, it takes no damage and half damage on a failed one. I want to use a snippet to auto calculate and display the save DC.
I have tried doing this: {{savedc:dex}} but it does not work, and just displays the snippet text. as showing in the image below.
Am I doing something wrong and now do I get this to work?

Snippet text only works for player options in the character sheet.
This explains why it didn't work. it would be nice to be able to use these in Monster brews as well though. I mean you fill in all the same details in terms of ability scores and so forth as a character sheet has, so I don't see why the snippet can't use those for the calculations.
